06:42residents of the capital's riverside Long Bien district to be on alert for possible
06:47flooding and to be ready to evacuate the area.
06:51Other northern areas, including the industrial hubs of Bac Giang and Tai Wuyen, were also
06:57facing severe flooding, state media reported.
07:01It was not immediately clear if Samsung Electronics and Apple supplier Foxconn, based in Tai
07:07Wuyen and Bac Giang, respectively, were affected.
07:12Evacuations were also taking place from flood-prone areas in Bac Giang province, the government
07:17said, when a typhoon and floods have caused damage estimated for now to be worth $300
07:23billion.
07:24More than 4,600 soldiers have been deployed in the province to support the evacuation
07:32and support flood victims.
07:35Taiwan's foreign ministry asked China to notify it ahead of any release of dam water upstream.
07:42Lao Cai province has reported the highest casualties, with 19 people killed and 36 missing,
07:49mostly in landslides, according to the Disaster Management Agency.
07:54The government has yet not provided estimates of the cost of the damage caused by the typhoon,
