00:00The Paralympians have arrived back home here in Sydney to a spectacular welcome home party.
00:10It's been a wonderful campaign for our team in Paris, winning 63 medals all up and countless
00:16world records broken.
00:18I love every bit of the experience but coming home is the best part and being able to be
00:22here and celebrate with our loved ones and all the amazing people from Australia is so
00:25great.
00:26The Paralympic team has been welcomed home in the Cauldron's Hangar, having our friends
00:30and family all here and all the supporters and the politicians and all the backers so
00:35it's really nice to have and to include them in our welcome home and to continue on the
00:40celebration that is the Paralympic Games.
00:42There have been a number of dignitaries here this morning to meet and greet with the athletes
00:48and help celebrate their successes including Governor-General Sam Mostyn and Prime Minister
00:55Anthony Albanese.
00:57These athletes are just remarkable, they've overcome adversity, they have represented
01:02their country with pride and with courage and 18 gold medals, lots of silvers, lots
01:09of bronzes but for all of these athletes they've done their best and we're so proud to have
01:15them representing Australia and it's just exciting.
01:19Now many of the athletes will be taking the opportunity to get some rest over the next
01:23few weeks but a lot of them are already looking ahead to 2032.
