00:00The highly anticipated trailer for Devara Part 1, directed by Kortala Shiva, was unveiled
00:06at a grand event in Mumbai. The film features a stellar cast including Junior NTR, Janhvi
00:12Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in main lead roles. Set to hit theatres September 27, the trailer
00:18offers a tantalising purview of movie's dramatic narrative, which explores themes of power
00:23and fear. The launch event was a grand affair, with the film's cast, crew in attendance,
00:29showcasing the excitement and high expectations surrounding the films.
00:59This is my debut film and I feel like I have returned home because this is my first Telugu
01:25So it's very, very, very special to me. So thank you so much for showing up with so much
01:30enthusiasm.
01:31To start with, bahut nervous hoon main because after RRR, this is my next film post RRR.
01:41Aur waise bhi RRR was with my co-actor also, Mr. Ramcharan. This is my solo release after
01:51six years. So there is a lot of nervousness, which is building up. But I'm very happy to
02:00launch the trailer of Devra in the city of Mumbai, because the experience we've had when
02:08we were promoting for RRR was just surreal. I mean, the acceptance of North has just shocked
02:16us all. And I hope it repeats with Devra.
02:18It was nothing. He had me at hello. That's just the way. I mean, Tara calls and you do
02:24what he wants. It's just the way it is. And, you know, we're not just a fan as an actor,
02:29but so much respect for his trajectory, so much respect for Sehwag sir and, you know,
02:33everything that he has achieved in cinema. The combination of the both of them coming
02:37together, they've made one blockbuster together, and this is heading towards being a mega blockbuster.
02:43The fact that Saif was in the film, Janhvi, I mean, it was like for us at Dharma Productions
02:48and AA Films, it was really an absolute no brainer to have our names associated with
02:54this magnificent piece of cinema that you just witnessed. Well, you've had all the magic
02:59and madness on land, but have you seen it on sea? It's a first. I mean, when you see
03:04what they call like the blood sea, and you see all the action that happens, you know,
03:10on the water and the way like there are sequences that are just sometimes you feel that you
03:15have a wild imagination and those can never really be fructified. But this has like, you
03:20know, Sehwag sir had that imagination and then it was absolutely like executed to precision.
03:27So I think the big USP I would say is just the landscape of the film. The fact that water
03:32is such a star as well, and everything that happens in and around that arena really makes
03:37Devaraj like a standout film and clutter breaks every other massive dramatic action film you've
03:44seen in Indian cinema. Well, firstly, I was I was really excited, like I said, to get
03:48offered a big movie made, you know, from from Andhra and from the South, South industry
03:56that's given us so many incredible movies. And I think the future is going to be collaborations
04:00between North and South. And I think of it in terms of like a, like you say, a pan Indian
04:06kind of scenario. Anyway, this role, I was very happy that that Tarik ji wanted me in
04:12it. And Sehwag sir wanted me in it. I think they'd seen Omkara and remembered it. And
04:16I have to thank Vishalji for that still. And it was a, it was a very interesting character
04:22because, you know, he's, there's a young version, there's an older version, there's crazy makeup.
04:28And also, I wouldn't, you know, it's more of an anti hero than a straight antagonist.
04:34And there's many layers to it. And it was just absolutely lovely doing it. It's like
04:39a, an entry, a debut into a new kind of cinema. And, you know, according to me, the cutting
04:46edge of Indian cinema right now. We met and we had, we had a laugh from day one. He's
04:51very easygoing person who wears his stardom lightly, which I like. And off set, a very,
04:59very friendly, welcoming person. We had a laugh from the first day. And he visited me
05:03in my van while I was waiting for a shot and made me feel so comfortable. And we had a
05:08lovely laugh. He's invited me to his home and offered to cook food. And he's one of
05:13the most hospitable people I've worked with. A really, really nice down to earth guy. But
05:17when the camera's on and when he, when I saw him shooting on the set, he seems to grow
05:22in stature in front of the camera and becomes a larger than life person, which is a very
05:28great star quality to have. And when it's cut, he's back to being a normal, fun person.
05:35I think he's been great and it's been so nice working with him. He was also very patient
05:42because it's a new language for me. And he was so supportive.
