Good news, dear readers; "Futurama" is back…again! The 2024 TV schedule has blessed us fans with what’s considered Season 12, and this past week saw the latest chapter in the lives of the Planet Express gang kick-off! Being able to say that still sounds like a miracle, considering how many times the former Fox series has been canceled over its 25-year history.
So of course, with every new season comes the same question: is "Futurama" going to end (again) anytime soon? Well, in the interest of tempting fate and good conversation, I asked members of the cast of one of the best animated TV shows how they felt about the matter. Not only did I get an actual answer, but the actors on hand also shared some fond wishes for what should happen in the potential future.

00:00Wouldn't this be a miracle and wonderful if our show just
00:02kept going on and these characters got old?
00:07I mean, some of them are kind of old already,
00:09like the professor.
00:10But I mean, what would someone who's kind of shallow
00:15and into looks and clothes and just gig partying,
00:20like how does a person like that let go of their cuteness
00:28overload or they're letting go of all the chips
00:33that they can't cash in anymore?
00:36And I don't know.
00:36That's the story of life, Lauren.
00:39Yeah, yeah, it might be kind of interesting.
00:40That's the human condition, is you get too tired for nonsense.
00:45Yeah, yeah, but that would be nice to see.
00:48Or maybe an episode where it kind of like skips ahead
00:52to where everybody's 80.
00:55Yeah, give it to everyone.
00:56And then what would happen to the professor, though?
00:58And Farnsworth, because he's already like in his 80s.
01:02Oh, yipes.
01:03I feel like he'd find a way.
01:05Don't laugh too hard.
01:05That's me in nine years.
01:08Well, we know.
01:11Yeah, yeah, we're doing our third one right now
01:16and then our third season.
01:19And then we have a fourth one after that.
01:21So hopefully, we continue to do more and more and more,
01:25like Dave's indicating with his fingers.
01:29But yeah, I mean, the thing is about this show,
01:34it's just got staying power.
01:37I mean, it's really something to come back after 10 years
01:43and come out of the gate like we never went away.
01:50You know what I mean?
01:50So it's really a special group of people.
01:53It's a special show.
01:56I'm always excited about the stuff
01:58that they've written for us to perform.
02:00And we got the most over-educated writing staff
02:05in Hollywood.
02:07They're brilliant.
02:09You can't say enough about them and about the jokes
02:12that they write for us.
02:13And it's a real collaborative effort
02:17in that we get to say these words
02:20and really enjoy saying them and really help make them shine.
02:25It's something.
02:26It's a real treat.
02:27I'm scared to say one damn thing about it
02:29because I know I will jinx it to high heaven.
02:31You're not going to jinx it.
02:32I'm just going to say, should I play the other side?
02:36Play the other side of like, oh, no, we're going away.
02:38We're gone.
02:39Totally.
02:39Yeah, it's a wrap.
02:40It's a wrap.
02:41No, it's a wrap.
02:42It's a wrap.
02:42Yeah, it's done.
02:43So then, David, you can confirm that Scruffy,
02:46the voice of reason at Atlantic Express
02:47is going to be the one to close the show out.
02:49Absolutely.
02:50Yep.
02:51There you go.
02:52Hit it, guys.
02:53Hit it, guys.
02:53Pew, whoop.
02:54Meow.
02:55Meow.
02:56Meow.
02:57Meow.
02:58Meow.
