A FEARLESS stunt driver squeezes his way into the record books by executing the world’s tightest ever 360 degree spin. Petrolhead Alastair Moffatt travelled at a speed of roughly 30 mph down a narrow lane of cars. The professional stunt driver, of Stunt Drive UK, spun his Subaru BRZ 360 degrees then accelerated to the end of the course - all in one continuous motion. Alastair's car was slightly over 4m long and the gap allowed for just 2.25m of clearance for him to complete the stunt - breaking the previous record of 2.5m.

00:00So the guys are out there measuring as we speak. Alistair Moffat gets the thumbs up.
00:06Let's go for another world record.
00:13Stunt driver Alistair Moffat already has six driving world records to his name.
00:19I've got the tightest parallel park, forward, single. I've also got the triple parallel park.
00:25I've got the reverse parallel park, so I'm quite good at parking.
00:28I'm in the tightest gap from three on two wheels and if we get this record today,
00:33it will be the narrowest gap to complete a 360 degree spin.
00:38To achieve this record, Alistair will drive between two rows of parked cars,
00:43perform a full 360 degree spin and continue driving without touching the stationary vehicles.
00:51The current record took place in a gap of just 2.5 metres longer than the driver's car.
00:58Alistair will be attempting to shave 25 centimetres off this record.
01:03I've been practising for today's record for quite a few months and it's been quite successful.
01:10Only a few little nudges along the way.
01:14So the rehearsal's gone pretty well.
01:17It's obviously going to be a lot different in front of a live audience, but it's gone pretty well.
01:23The record was held by a front wheel drive car before and I'm in a rear wheel drive car,
01:27so it will be done slightly differently to how it has been done in the past
01:32and Guinness have approved that method of doing the actual record attempt.
01:38He'll be driving a Subaru BRZ for his record attempt.
01:42The only modification to the car is that all the electronic systems,
01:45such as traction control, have been disabled.
01:48Just ripped a load of fuses out of it and nothing works,
01:51apart from the steering wheel and the clutch and brake really.
01:58It's quite nerve wracking.
02:00It's very tunnel vision in there with a lot of lighting and that,
02:04so there's not so much achieving it.
02:07It's doing it in a big pressure environment, so yeah, pretty nervous.
02:11Now what Alistair needs is your encouragement, your applause, cheers, shouts, screams.
02:17The parked cars have been set, the distance between them has been measured.
02:21It's time for Alistair to go for the record.
02:25He's done it! He has done it! A brand new world record!
02:31Alistair has broken the record in front of the crowd,
02:34but for his official record attempt he has to do it one more time under controlled conditions.
02:42The gap is measured,
02:45the car is measured,
02:47and the distance is confirmed at 2.25 metres longer than the Subaru.
02:54At first things don't quite work out.
03:06But eventually he succeeds.
03:12The footage will now be sent to Guinness so his record can be verified.
03:18A welcome, a challenger. Let's have it!
