00:00:00Previously, no, no, no, yesterday I did pay.
00:00:05I don't want to get to this point.
00:00:07The lows of guest bedroom week.
00:00:09We don't want you talking behind our backs.
00:00:11I'll talk to you up front, I'm telling you now.
00:00:13You haven't talked to me up front.
00:00:15Grant and Courtney fired their builders.
00:00:17I'm not having you on site, you're a snake.
00:00:19Don't come back on Thursday.
00:00:21And the fishing challenge.
00:00:24Reeled in a boat worth 100 grand for the boys.
00:00:28What just happened?
00:00:31What just happened?
00:00:34Tonight, some emotional reunions
00:00:37as the blockinator returns.
00:00:40What's that?
00:00:41It's a desk.
00:00:43He's got to be.
00:00:44Judging sees the blockheads in a five horse race.
00:00:47This is insane.
00:00:49It's beautiful.
00:00:50For goodness sake, make our jobs easier.
00:00:53And the stakes are high.
00:00:5410,000 bucks from Ford up for grabs.
00:00:56It's $10,000 worth of Gucci dress and earrings.
00:00:59There's also a $10,000 wardrobe upgrade
00:01:02from Hayflick, which turns this week
00:01:04into a $30,000 week.
00:01:06Ooh, that's big.
00:01:08There's also a penguin in play
00:01:10after Kylie and Brad won the penguin nesting box challenge.
00:01:14What are you going to do with the bonus point penguin?
00:01:20Have a seat.
00:01:27Yeah!
00:01:39It's just one day before guest bedroom reveal
00:01:42and it's also a very special day for one blockhead.
00:01:46Can I have a grand corny?
00:01:47Thank you. Sorry.
00:01:53It's your birthday.
00:01:54It's my birthday.
00:01:55Grant is turning 50.
00:02:02It's his 30th.
00:02:04Happy birthday!
00:02:06Everyone went out of their way to wish me a happy birthday.
00:02:09Oh, you've been waiting?
00:02:13Courtney, this is for you.
00:02:14Oh, baby!
00:02:15Holy s***.
00:02:16Paige and Jessie, they bought us a really nice bottle of scotch.
00:02:20Happy birthday, mate.
00:02:22I'm actually speechless.
00:02:23I didn't expect anything.
00:02:25So, yeah, it was really cool.
00:02:28But what isn't so cool
00:02:30is the amount of work left to do in all the bedrooms.
00:02:3324 hours until he's out,
00:02:34we need our carpet installed,
00:02:36graphic colour coming in.
00:02:38We need to start painting.
00:02:39Blinds and curtains going in.
00:02:41So much to do.
00:02:42But we have Grant's birthday today
00:02:44at 8am at Grumpy's Crazy Golf.
00:02:49Golf.
00:02:50Yes, I've organised a game of golf for a few putts and giggles.
00:02:54Hey!
00:02:55But not everyone is heading to the course.
00:02:59Brad and I already knew we wouldn't be able to make it
00:03:01because we were far behind
00:03:03and we were catching up on painting and styling.
00:03:06Putting?
00:03:08No, it would be too good.
00:03:09And plus we've got all our deliveries.
00:03:12So all theirs is getting sent away because no one's here.
00:03:16You don't want to give it to them?
00:03:17Take it for them?
00:03:18Why would we do that?
00:03:21Unfortunately, can't make it to the putt-putt.
00:03:23Have to stay back and paint,
00:03:24so I've had to make the block first
00:03:27over Grant's birthday this morning.
00:03:29Yep.
00:03:30We unfortunately didn't get to go to Grant's 30th putt-putt
00:03:33this morning.
00:03:34We had a big night,
00:03:36but we also had a lot to do
00:03:38and that's that.
00:03:41Yeah.
00:03:46What happened to Paige and Jessica?
00:03:47They couldn't come today?
00:03:48They had a massive dummy spit last night.
00:03:52Why?
00:03:53I think...
00:03:55Yeah, it was just in private.
00:03:57It was just them two.
00:03:58How do you know then?
00:03:59Oh, they told me about it.
00:04:01I must say I've never been invited to a 30th
00:04:04at 8am in the morning.
00:04:05Definitely a first time, that's for sure.
00:04:07We want to go at 8 o'clock.
00:04:10I don't.
00:04:11We can't really do much anyway
00:04:12because there will be trades working in there.
00:04:14You keep saying that,
00:04:15but I'm going to keep telling you
00:04:16that it takes a long time to steam bed linen.
00:04:18I could do that nearly all day to make it perfect.
00:04:21So I've got a lot of stuff to do, to be honest.
00:04:23Yeah, and we do,
00:04:24and we'll make sure we leave by a certain time.
00:04:27We'll see.
00:04:31I think Paige's emotions just took the better of her
00:04:35and she started saying,
00:04:36I f***ing want to be here,
00:04:37get me off this f***ing show,
00:04:38I'm f***ing over this and blah, blah, blah.
00:04:40Why?
00:04:41Something along those lines.
00:04:42She was just feeling it last night.
00:04:47Sorry that at this exact moment,
00:04:50I'm at my end of the tether with you.
00:04:53How do you think I feel as well, though?
00:04:55I don't give a f*** how you feel.
00:04:56Deal with it yourself.
00:04:59But we deal with it as a team.
00:05:01We don't.
00:05:02We actually don't.
00:05:04I try to, you don't.
00:05:09I need you, I need you by my side
00:05:11to help me do this, please.
00:05:13I'm done.
00:05:14I don't want to be here.
00:05:18Do I need to spell it out again?
00:05:25I don't think I've ever not wanted to be here.
00:05:27Yeah, me either.
00:05:28No matter how hard things get.
00:05:29Yeah.
00:05:30I'm more so like, I don't want to ever leave here.
00:05:35I'm not looking forward to leaving
00:05:36because I have attachment issues
00:05:38and I'm going to miss everyone.
00:05:40Immensely.
00:05:43One team who is running late for the golf tournament
00:05:45are Rikki and Hayden,
00:05:47who are sleeping off their Bar Crusher win celebration.
00:05:55Good morning.
00:05:56What a morning.
00:05:57Oh, hello.
00:05:58Hello.
00:05:59Happy birthday.
00:06:01Should we go over this way?
00:06:02There you go.
00:06:03We went to Grumpy's Putt-Putt in Cowes.
00:06:05Yeah.
00:06:06It was actually really fitting.
00:06:08Was it?
00:06:09I just want to say that this joint used to be called Happies,
00:06:13but I've renamed it Grumpy's after the birthday party.
00:06:19Because you've been a little bit grumpy, haven't you?
00:06:21I have, I have.
00:06:22Hey there, grumpy bum.
00:06:25I'll say it right here on record.
00:06:27No, no, we want to move.
00:06:28Let me finish my sentence.
00:06:29I want you to be our builder.
00:06:30Let me finish it.
00:06:31Let me finish it and I'm out.
00:06:32You haven't talked to me up front.
00:06:34No, I'm not talking about that.
00:06:35No, no, I'm talking about the invoices.
00:06:36Don't worry about it.
00:06:37Grant is grumpy.
00:06:38That's his new name.
00:06:39You know what, Australia?
00:06:40This is grumpy.
00:06:41Let's go.
00:06:42Come on.
00:06:43It's time to turn Grump's frown upside down
00:06:45with a little Putt-Putt golf.
00:06:57We're going to play mini golf,
00:06:58and the team that wins the mini golf game
00:07:03will win a thousand bucks on shell and iron.
00:07:05I thought we'd bring a semi-professional golfer
00:07:09with us to give us a bit of a helping hand.
00:07:12You're not going to believe it.
00:07:14It's our old mate.
00:07:16It's Keith!
00:07:17No.
00:07:18No, it's not.
00:07:19Where is he?
00:07:20Keith!
00:07:21Give it up for Keith!
00:07:25Hi, guys.
00:07:27Who more fitting to come to my birthday
00:07:30Who more fitting to come to my birthday
00:07:32at Grumpy's with Grumpy would be Keith.
00:07:35Keith!
00:07:36The blockinator!
00:07:38The rules are simple.
00:07:39Put the ball in the hole with the putter.
00:07:42By the way, Keith is a golfing gun,
00:07:45so look out, blockheads.
00:07:51It's all in the hips.
00:07:53From around the globe,
00:07:54our not-so-elite pros are taking part
00:07:57in the inaugural Phillip Island Putt-Putt Golf Championship.
00:08:01Oh, s**t.
00:08:05I tell you what, you're getting a bit aggressive.
00:08:07I know.
00:08:08I don't know what I suck more at.
00:08:11Golf.
00:08:13Or painting.
00:08:16Yeah, we might have been running a little bit late for...
00:08:19We had a few frothies in the crusher last night.
00:08:21Grab yourself a club, please.
00:08:23No way.
00:08:25Look at that.
00:08:27Boys.
00:08:28Oh, I didn't think we'd see you, mate.
00:08:30How you doing?
00:08:31It's very interesting clothing you're wearing, guys.
00:08:34Thanks, mate.
00:08:35I thought you were on a building show.
00:08:36We're dressed to impress, mate.
00:08:37That morning I wouldn't have hit a barn door
00:08:39with a handful of rice.
00:08:43Yeah, I was no chance.
00:08:47I didn't do so good on the first couple of holes.
00:08:52Why are you hitting it so hard?
00:08:54Very heavy-handed, Mimi.
00:08:55Very heavy-handed.
00:08:56Oh, yeah, just stop it.
00:08:57No, that's allowed.
00:08:58Walk away, Mimi.
00:08:59Walk away.
00:09:00Yeah, no, you're done.
00:09:03Mimi, we've got $1,000 up for grabs.
00:09:07And then I did really well afterwards.
00:09:17She's odd.
00:09:18Wow.
00:09:22Nice.
00:09:23Two again.
00:09:24He's sharp, isn't he?
00:09:25Grumpy.
00:09:26Grumpy?
00:09:27Come on.
00:09:28We're up.
00:09:29I've got to give it to Scotty.
00:09:30I think he wanted me to get that $1,000,
00:09:31being that it was my birthday,
00:09:32and he tried everything under the sun to do that.
00:09:35I need to get back in the game.
00:09:36And if you get a hole in one, you get two points.
00:09:38Oh, stop it.
00:09:44Stop, stop.
00:09:45Stop.
00:09:48Just wasn't my day on the greens.
00:09:50All right.
00:09:51The wheel of death.
00:09:54I really want to see a hole-in-one here.
00:09:56It's a serious stick.
00:10:00Oh, my God.
00:10:01Hang on, hang on, hang on.
00:10:13After eight rounds of grumpy golf,
00:10:15the scorecard is woeful,
00:10:17with Mimi and Hayden tied in first place.
00:10:20Now for the sudden death playoff.
00:10:24Mimi and Hayden for $1,000.
00:10:29That's a good hit.
00:10:30Good shot.
00:10:31Oh, no.
00:10:36Too big.
00:10:37Oh, no.
00:10:39Come on.
00:10:40Come on, Migs.
00:10:42Mimi, you're in with a real chance here.
00:10:45Come on, Mimi.
00:10:49Way too hard.
00:10:50Oh!
00:10:54Oh!
00:10:57High down.
00:10:58Yeah!
00:11:01As always, the win went to Mimi.
00:11:04Who is surprisingly so good at golf.
00:11:06Good, but you could tell it was fluky good.
00:11:08Well, congratulations, Mimi.
00:11:10$1,000 coming to you.
00:11:12I'd actually like to give the prize to Grant,
00:11:14because it's his birthday.
00:11:15And I saw Christian's face when she did that.
00:11:18Christian actually yelled out, Mimi, no!
00:11:20Mimi, no!
00:11:22And then she goes, no.
00:11:23Give me the $1,000.
00:11:28Hey, it's the block, right?
00:11:29Accept $1,000.
00:11:30Mimi!
00:11:31Mimi!
00:11:32Very nice.
00:11:33Mimi!
00:11:34Mate, it was one for the memory bank, honestly.
00:11:36It was one for the books.
00:11:38I'm not someone that does big birthdays.
00:11:40I don't have a big group of mates.
00:11:42I've actually got probably no groups of mates,
00:11:44if I'm being completely honest, besides my brothers.
00:11:46Who's cutting your ass?
00:11:47You are.
00:11:48He took out the hedges with the whippersnapper.
00:11:51Thank you very much.
00:11:52I'm not going to come anymore.
00:11:53And I mentioned to Courtney, funnily enough, this week,
00:11:55I was like, I'm starting to miss Mum and Dad,
00:11:57starting to miss my brothers.
00:11:59And in particular, Andrew.
00:12:00Andrew and I are really close.
00:12:01I said he's my best mate.
00:12:03Little does Grant know,
00:12:04Courtney has organised a special birthday surprise.
00:12:08Oh, my God.
00:12:09So his brother, I'm getting his brother to surprise him.
00:12:12Is Grant's brother like him?
00:12:14No, he's very respectful.
00:12:16Not that Grant isn't.
00:12:17Grant is respectful.
00:12:18Yeah, yeah, he is.
00:12:19He's cheeky.
00:12:21Delivery for Grumpy.
00:12:23Hey!
00:12:24What the f*** is going on?
00:12:29How's it going?
00:12:31How are you?
00:12:32Good, bro.
00:12:33My brother arrived.
00:12:35He was my best mate.
00:12:38You've been alright?
00:12:39Yeah, very good.
00:12:40It's good to see you.
00:12:42It made me cry.
00:12:43I'm emotional.
00:12:44I don't even know him.
00:12:45Oh, it was emotional.
00:12:47I cried.
00:12:48Christian cried and then Courtney saw us crying,
00:12:50so she cried.
00:12:51And the person that actually had the reunion didn't cry.
00:12:54Grant did not cry.
00:12:55I said I was going to cheer you up.
00:12:59How'd you do this?
00:13:00I got in a car.
00:13:02The day.
00:13:03Seriously.
00:13:04That made me cry.
00:13:05Yeah, we left this morning.
00:13:07Did you actually think it was a delivery?
00:13:08No.
00:13:09Did you say no steel cap?
00:13:10She's like, delivering.
00:13:11Sorry.
00:13:12I was really grateful that he came down
00:13:14because it's given us that little bit of a push
00:13:17to continue on.
00:13:18It was so, so good to see him.
00:13:20So good to see him.
00:13:32It's less than 24 hours before tools down
00:13:34and the block is in hyperdrive.
00:13:39Carpets are being laid.
00:13:40HomePro are installing the curtains and blinds.
00:13:43And Grafico wallpaper is going up.
00:13:48This season, Dan has made sure the block runs like clockwork
00:13:52and he's done it all on his lonesome.
00:13:55Katie?
00:14:02Dad?
00:14:06Dad!
00:14:18Good to see you.
00:14:19Mate, you left me.
00:14:21Oh, it was a bit hard to do this one.
00:14:23Yeah.
00:14:24Yeah, just family and everything, mate.
00:14:25And, um, mate, how are these contestants treating you?
00:14:28Are they nice or are they...
00:14:29They're actually not bad, mate.
00:14:31They're actually pretty good.
00:14:32Well, mate, what do you reckon, for old times' sake?
00:14:34Do a round?
00:14:35Yeah, why not?
00:14:36Can't resist it, mate.
00:14:37But we need the blockinator, surely.
00:14:39Have you got him?
00:14:40He's got him.
00:14:41Oh, I've got him.
00:14:43After 13 seasons, we've all learned
00:14:46that the blockinator doesn't mind getting stuck into contestants.
00:14:49Go and finish that off now.
00:14:52Now.
00:14:53We're going to take it offside.
00:14:54And you're countersinking?
00:14:55No, listen, you're countersinking as well?
00:14:57No.
00:14:59The whole apartment, mate, isn't up to code
00:15:01as far as cleanliness is concerned.
00:15:05I am fuming, mate.
00:15:06You're fuming.
00:15:07You are disregarding the whole block.
00:15:09Don't come in here and start swearing at me.
00:15:11No, but that's ridiculous.
00:15:12I'm fuming at this.
00:15:13That is ridiculous, mate.
00:15:14This can't be interpreted any other way than the way it's drawn.
00:15:17If you don't rip it up, mate, then I'll come rip it up.
00:15:21Yeah.
00:15:22I'll finish that.
00:15:23So, Jesse, you might want a brace for the blockinator.
00:15:26Jesse, I was expecting to see you this morning.
00:15:28It's Grant's 30th birthday.
00:15:30I'm hoping I can surprise him with a beer later on tonight, maybe.
00:15:33That's some interesting wallpaper.
00:15:37Jesse's whipped this up, DIY project.
00:15:42What's that?
00:15:44It's a desk.
00:15:45Yeah, it's very interesting.
00:15:47Carpentry skills.
00:15:49So, did you do this yourself?
00:15:50I did, yeah.
00:15:51With the help of...
00:15:52Jigsaw?
00:15:53Jigsaw, yeah, with the help of Paige.
00:15:55That's weird.
00:15:56Shall we go to the next one, Keith?
00:15:57Yeah, I think so.
00:15:58See you, mate.
00:15:59See you later.
00:16:02Oh, Keith was here.
00:16:03Keith was here.
00:16:05He laughed at my desk.
00:16:08He laughed at it?
00:16:09Yeah.
00:16:10Why?
00:16:11He liked the wallpaper, though.
00:16:13I don't know.
00:16:14He's got to me.
00:16:17This week, Jesse and Paige are gunning to win
00:16:19by doing a girls' bedroom,
00:16:21featuring twin beds, walk-in robe, gingham wallpaper
00:16:25and iconico bird prints.
00:16:27And they're painting their wavy Mitre 10 DIY desk pink
00:16:31to match the shelving.
00:16:33Yeah, we thought we would have fun this week.
00:16:35We took Shaina's advice on board
00:16:37and wanted to show a bit more personality,
00:16:39and the place to do that is a kids' room.
00:16:42Down the road in house four,
00:16:44Kylie and Brad are running a bit behind,
00:16:46with most of the painting still to be done.
00:16:49Today's paint, paint, paint.
00:16:52Graphic colour coming in.
00:16:54Also, we've got Home Pro coming to do blinds,
00:16:56so we need to have some paint on the wall
00:16:58before Home Pro comes.
00:16:59Kieran from Home Pro would have liked to have been in
00:17:02probably a bit earlier.
00:17:03Yeah.
00:17:07He's me mate.
00:17:08Keith.
00:17:09Hey, Brad.
00:17:10How are ya?
00:17:11Kylie?
00:17:12Yeah, Keith arrived.
00:17:14I've always wanted to meet Keith,
00:17:16because he's not here this year on the block.
00:17:18I'm not going to miss him after his comments, but...
00:17:21What is this?
00:17:22Is this just an undercoat, or is that the finish?
00:17:26It's the Graphico.
00:17:27No, he did leave some savage feedback for me.
00:17:30I thought it might have been a primer for something
00:17:32or something like that,
00:17:33but it's actually the finish of the wall.
00:17:34Yeah, you're like, God, she's not very good at painting.
00:17:37The Graphico looks phenomenal.
00:17:38Like, one choice that I have made that I do not regret
00:17:41is my Graphico in that room.
00:17:44Well, guys, I've got a little treat for you.
00:17:46Oh, you've got goodie bags.
00:17:47Goodie bags from...
00:17:48Chocolates and lollies.
00:17:49Oh, that's cute, mate.
00:17:51Alright, well, I'll leave you to it.
00:17:53Maybe get a top coat on, Keithie?
00:17:54Yeah, you reckon paint over it, do ya?
00:17:57Thanks, Keith.
00:17:58More questions, more concerns.
00:18:00Now I'm like, great, what am I going to be in for judging?
00:18:03The one thing I like, the judges will go,
00:18:05ugh, terrible choice.
00:18:07The room works, different wallpaper.
00:18:15One blockade that has managed to dodge Keith's slingshot
00:18:18is Paige.
00:18:19She's out shopping on the island,
00:18:21on the hunt for some styling nuggets
00:18:23for their girls' bedroom.
00:18:25I popped over to the trusty little florist.
00:18:27Kylie helped me with a little floral arrangement
00:18:30for the bedroom.
00:18:32Nice.
00:18:33Yeah, nice, nice, nice.
00:18:34So we'll wrap these up.
00:18:36Might actually take both of those.
00:18:44Back at the block, it's delivery day.
00:18:48Including Nadia from the block shop,
00:18:50who usually delivers the bulk of room goodies
00:18:52the day before reveal.
00:18:54That's it.
00:18:56Done.
00:18:57Thank you so much.
00:18:58Good luck, Dad.
00:18:59She's like, um, like our long-lost sister
00:19:02Like our long-lost sister.
00:19:03And Santa Claus, like combined.
00:19:05Like, she's so patient.
00:19:07We've got some goodies.
00:19:08Your linen.
00:19:09Thank you so much.
00:19:10Normally I'd meet, um, I'd reach out to Nadia
00:19:13Monday, Tuesday.
00:19:14Like, I literally just text her a list of links
00:19:16just to say, these are the products I'm looking at.
00:19:19If they're not available, like, what's similar?
00:19:21And then she'll call me, like, literally within half an hour
00:19:23and we'll go through what's available, what's not.
00:19:25And Nadia then comes out and personally
00:19:27hand delivers them to you
00:19:29and shows you exactly what she's bought you.
00:19:31What's that?
00:19:32That's your side table.
00:19:34Thank you so much.
00:19:35Thank you, my darling.
00:19:36I really appreciate you doing that.
00:19:37I really appreciate you.
00:19:38Yeah, we've definitely learned that
00:19:40it's only half the battle ordering your things.
00:19:42Yep.
00:19:43But it's making sure that you do check your things,
00:19:46making sure you've got the right things when they arrive.
00:19:49Lock shop, baby.
00:19:53I think it's easy to get complacent, you know,
00:19:55and just leave everything in the box.
00:19:57You know, and you don't check until it's game day
00:20:00and then you're stuffed.
00:20:02Which is exactly what Paige and Jessie are learning today
00:20:06as they place their block shop orders too late.
00:20:10So, at the start of the week,
00:20:12Paige had a really great plan in mind for the room
00:20:15and what we were going to furnish it with.
00:20:17All the bedhead and a lot of the furniture
00:20:19that we originally wanted, we couldn't actually get.
00:20:21Um...
00:20:22So, we can't get anything from Queensland
00:20:24because it's a public holiday on Friday.
00:20:27Because their big-ticket items couldn't be delivered on time,
00:20:30Jessie had to do some last-minute furniture shopping
00:20:33during the week.
00:20:34So, these are the ones in ivory.
00:20:36Yes. OK.
00:20:37And these are available for you...
00:20:39Right. OK. ..today.
00:20:41Now Nadia has arrived with the rest of their block shop orders.
00:20:44That's the artwork.
00:20:46These are the two draped canopies.
00:20:49Awesome. Great.
00:20:51Over the bed.
00:20:53And the little daisy candle. OK.
00:20:55We've got all the block shop delivery from Nadia, which is great.
00:20:58So, we've got everything we need.
00:21:00What are these ones? Oh, pendants. Great.
00:21:02Yeah.
00:21:03So, once I start painting,
00:21:05we can hopefully start furnishing soon, which is pretty cool.
00:21:15With their carpets, blinds, curtains and wallpaper now installed,
00:21:19the blockheads are going like the clappers
00:21:21to furnish and fluff their bedrooms.
00:21:24Our three are about to zhuzh their throw blanket
00:21:27and they're using some Cliff Notes to get the styling right.
00:21:30Where did you get your cheat sheet from?
00:21:33It was set up for me in the shop.
00:21:35It was set up like that by Jack at Freedom,
00:21:38who's an interior designer.
00:21:40A few days back, styling sage Jack from Freedom
00:21:43visited the boys to give them some hot zhuzhing tips.
00:21:47Can I ask, where's the throw, right? OK.
00:21:50There's obviously a few ways you can put it on the end of the bed.
00:21:54Do you fold it? Do you make it look rough?
00:21:57Cos it frightens me.
00:21:59So, I always like to grab the centre of the throw.
00:22:02Yep.
00:22:03Go like that.
00:22:05Ooh.
00:22:06And you sort of just, like...
00:22:08And you can, like...
00:22:10This is your casual. Yeah.
00:22:18Flip that over.
00:22:20Square across the end of the bed. Square across the end of the bed.
00:22:23How are you supposed to work this one, mate?
00:22:26Er...
00:22:28Don't overthink it.
00:22:30And you want to create some layers,
00:22:32so what you're trying to do with this
00:22:34is create a bit of interest in the bed as well.
00:22:36Just like that.
00:22:38Perfect.
00:22:40Thank you, Jack from Freedom.
00:22:42Ah!
00:22:48Um, so, everything done in the room,
00:22:50everything you wanted to include is there?
00:22:52No. Oh.
00:22:54Um, we are missing... It looks finished, doesn't it?
00:22:56It does, yeah.
00:22:58But no, I wanted completely different things in the room.
00:23:00We actually had a 1am phone call this morning.
00:23:04Um, with...
00:23:06Can you not? ..my mum.
00:23:09It's now Saturday night.
00:23:11We're decorating our room, and they're like,
00:23:13oh, where's our seven items?
00:23:15And they're not here.
00:23:17That 1am call was not Jessie's mum on the phone.
00:23:20It's actually Nadia from the block shop.
00:23:23And you haven't once told us and said,
00:23:25hey, um, it's delayed in the post.
00:23:27You should probably look for something else.
00:23:29I told her to have a backup plan.
00:23:31For the desk caddies?
00:23:33Yes.
00:23:35You never told me that, Nadia. You never told me that.
00:23:38The baskets have been delayed in the post.
00:23:40I said to you that they're all coming from Queensland.
00:23:43No, you didn't.
00:23:45All of that sort of stuff. No, you didn't.
00:23:47Um...
00:23:49Sorry, we can't get anything from Queensland
00:23:51cos it's a public holiday on Friday.
00:23:53I...
00:23:55I would not have you call me a liar.
00:23:57Well, sorry, I'm calling you a wild liar right now.
00:23:59Do you know where the, um...
00:24:01the lights are?
00:24:03You never actually told me.
00:24:06No, I actually called Paige.
00:24:08You didn't. I didn't have a conversation with you that day.
00:24:11Speak to Paige. When have you...
00:24:13Nadia, Nadia, when have you had
00:24:15all these made-up conversations with me?
00:24:17I said to you, all of your deliveries
00:24:19will be made on Saturday.
00:24:21And then you hung up.
00:24:23I'll have the contract for you to sign on Saturday
00:24:25when I make all the deliveries.
00:24:27Thank you. No worries.
00:24:31Oh, that was about...
00:24:33Literally, I'm telling you now,
00:24:35has not had a conversation with me.
00:24:37No f***ing way.
00:24:39Just full of s***.
00:24:59All good? You stress me out, Jesse.
00:25:01Like, Jesse, come on.
00:25:03Nup. Hurry up. Grab this off me.
00:25:05You put wet paint on the plastic.
00:25:07I'm not getting that on the carpet.
00:25:09Get it out.
00:25:11Definitely not.
00:25:13Yes, chef.
00:25:15Morning, gorgeous.
00:25:21She's got that morning
00:25:23mist all over her.
00:25:25So just give her a bit of a...
00:25:27bit of a dry down and just...
00:25:29It's like we...
00:25:31This is the perfect way to start your day.
00:25:33Imagine how good I'll look with my Gucci
00:25:35and the bar crusher.
00:25:37I might even see if Scotty Cam
00:25:39can drive me into the driveway
00:25:41in the back of the bar crusher
00:25:43in my Gucci.
00:25:47That might even be how I start my fishing show.
00:25:49Tight lines with Gucci Ricky.
00:25:59I hope Shana doesn't have hay fever.
00:26:05You gotta chop them.
00:26:07Not pillows.
00:26:09Yeah, chop them.
00:26:11No.
00:26:13Don't tell me what to do.
00:26:15Actually, you're right.
00:26:17I don't like my styling anyway.
00:26:19Chop the pillows?
00:26:21Yeah.
00:26:23I don't like my styling anyway.
00:26:25Yeah.
00:26:27Give it away now.
00:26:29Give it away now.
00:26:31Give it away now.
00:26:33Give it away now.
00:26:35Time.
00:26:37Hold that.
00:26:43Yay!
00:26:45Tools down.
00:26:47I've gotta lay down now.
00:26:49Yeah, I'll clean your face.
00:26:51I've gotta lay down now.
00:26:53I've gotta lay down now.
00:26:55Yeah, I'll clean your face.
00:26:57Those are calm.
00:26:59Amazing.
00:27:01You've done such a good job.
00:27:03Love you.
00:27:05What a wake.
00:27:07Did you finish the room off?
00:27:09Uh...
00:27:21Hello.
00:27:23Oh, you can pat her. It's alright.
00:27:29Good evening, everybody.
00:27:31Now, hasn't there been some ups and downs
00:27:33in this first four weeks of the block?
00:27:35I mean, boys.
00:27:37Last week, you couldn't finish your room.
00:27:39This week, you whack a $100,000
00:27:41bar crusher in the driveway.
00:27:43How good, mate.
00:27:45Best week of my life, mate.
00:27:47And I feel as though that everybody
00:27:49has really hit their groove.
00:27:51And you certainly
00:27:53gave our judges a challenge
00:27:55today.
00:27:57There's $10,000 from Ford up for grabs.
00:27:59There's $10,000 worth of Gucci dress
00:28:01and earrings from Kingsman
00:28:03up for grabs.
00:28:05There's also a $10,000 wardrobe upgrade
00:28:07from Hayflick,
00:28:09which turns this week into a $30,000
00:28:11week. And might I mention
00:28:13there is a bonus point
00:28:15penguin in the mix as well.
00:28:21House one,
00:28:23Jessie and Paige.
00:28:25Oh, God.
00:28:29This week was a blur.
00:28:31We did bedroom number two,
00:28:33which we made into a
00:28:35kids' room.
00:28:37We did bedroom number two,
00:28:39which we made into a
00:28:41kids' room.
00:28:43We did bedroom number two,
00:28:45which we made into a
00:28:47kids' room.
00:28:49Now that I've bought my sheets,
00:28:51I see everything so
00:28:53clearly.
00:28:55So, the sheets
00:28:57are this beautiful kind of Parisian
00:28:59dollhouse vibe.
00:29:03It really plays into that modern
00:29:05colonial bit. It's fun because it's a kid.
00:29:09I think we're the only house with a walk-in robe,
00:29:11which is pretty cool. It's a good-sized little
00:29:13walk-in robe for a kids' room, for sure.
00:29:15Extra room for the stars.
00:29:17Extra room for the storage of games,
00:29:19I reckon.
00:29:23So, we're 110% not going to be able to get these.
00:29:25No. We're looking for chairs.
00:29:27And they are from a separate supplier.
00:29:29Everything's kind of online only.
00:29:31We are
00:29:33doing a DIY project.
00:29:35So, we're going to build our own desk.
00:29:39Voila. That looks like cherry blush
00:29:41to me. I found a pretty cool picture
00:29:43online that incorporates
00:29:45a waving type
00:29:47look. It's got all those waves.
00:29:49They've got to go lower than this.
00:29:51Do you know what chairs you're using?
00:29:53Yeah, kind of. Nothing's what we wanted this week.
00:29:55I think it'll
00:29:57look good. Just add that little bit of a
00:29:59coastal element. Yeah.
00:30:01Because, you know, I like just a little
00:30:03sprinkle. Win or lose, we're really
00:30:05proud of what we've produced.
00:30:07Yeah, I hope we get good feedback.
00:30:09Good feedback, and I want the win. I want the win.
00:30:11You want the win? So bad. Me too.
00:30:15Wow.
00:30:37Wow.
00:30:39Marty walked into your room with a huge
00:30:41smile on his face.
00:30:43And said,
00:30:45Oh, how cute is this?
00:30:47Shana was
00:30:49bamboozled by the room, but in
00:30:51a good way.
00:30:55I don't know where to look to tell you the truth.
00:30:57There's so many things. Look at the everything.
00:31:01The colour palette you chose this week
00:31:03is absolutely superb.
00:31:07Gelato colours and
00:31:09ice cream drips and everything
00:31:11cute. The greens and pink
00:31:13with the metal of the brass
00:31:15and the scalloping. Everything
00:31:17works really beautifully. It's elegant,
00:31:19it's classy, and
00:31:21there's so much here to connect with with little kids.
00:31:23They're bringing this colonial
00:31:25theme in. They've got, you know, the beautiful
00:31:27Victorian on the pillows.
00:31:29They're trying to create that feeling
00:31:31of an older home, but in a
00:31:33modern setting. Like that modern colonial,
00:31:35it's actually working for them. Marty
00:31:37said, This room is in tune
00:31:39with all of your rooms
00:31:41we have delivered so far on the
00:31:43block.
00:31:45It's been nailed.
00:31:47The fact that they know their style
00:31:49I think is really setting them up for success
00:31:51on the block.
00:31:53This is absolutely
00:31:55the next step in their
00:31:57puzzle.
00:31:59This is what I want to see.
00:32:01And this double width skylight
00:32:03with two v-luxes in there
00:32:05just makes it feel
00:32:07higher, more ample, lots
00:32:09of natural light. But because the v-lux have
00:32:11blinds there, it means it's
00:32:13block out at night so they can sleep.
00:32:15That's so useful for this room.
00:32:17Shona noted that for
00:32:19a kid's room, she thinks it is a very
00:32:21sophisticated take.
00:32:23Doesn't
00:32:25feel juvenile. No.
00:32:27Feels very upmarket. Yeah.
00:32:29The proportions though.
00:32:31This is a big room. This is like, you could fit
00:32:33a king size bed in there and still be
00:32:35very happy. This is a perfectly
00:32:37reusable
00:32:39different utility room.
00:32:41The amenity in this room is
00:32:43off the charts.
00:32:45Marty loved the idea
00:32:47of the step-in kingsman wardrobe.
00:32:49I think
00:32:51that is such a smart design
00:32:53idea.
00:32:57No doors doesn't make it feel
00:32:59closed in. I think this works brilliantly.
00:33:01Stepping in, Darren
00:33:03saw a problem.
00:33:05What? We're missing
00:33:07wallpaper here and wallpaper
00:33:09here. So this is just raw
00:33:11plaster that hasn't been
00:33:13painted or sanded
00:33:15or wallpapered. We've got a little
00:33:17bit of incompletion
00:33:19issue there.
00:33:21Shona loved
00:33:23the idea of the pink desk.
00:33:25I love that desk.
00:33:27I just want to check, can you sit in it?
00:33:29Shona thinks there's an issue with the depth
00:33:31of the scalloped edge.
00:33:33Well,
00:33:35no, I mean, I can't.
00:33:37He's been in the gym.
00:33:39No,
00:33:41like a little kid maybe
00:33:43could squeeze him in. If I can
00:33:45get in?
00:33:47I can
00:33:49see you're trying to avoid it. I can see
00:33:51your legs going, where am I
00:33:53going? But I'm in. The thing is, they could
00:33:55have actually done the
00:33:57scallop higher. That's what it is.
00:33:59Marty was
00:34:01full of compliments today for your room,
00:34:03Jessie and Paige. I'm really picking up
00:34:05what they're putting down and I think buyers
00:34:07will walk in here and love it.
00:34:09The colour palette, the finish,
00:34:11the panelling, the V-lux.
00:34:13It's a really nice guest room.
00:34:15Yeah. The judges
00:34:17all agreed that you have served up
00:34:19a very, very sweet
00:34:21room that won't date.
00:34:23There you go. That sounds
00:34:25like the cherry on top of the gelato.
00:34:27A great start to the day. That's it.
00:34:29Thank you so much.
00:34:35The attention to detail wasn't as
00:34:37pure and as clean as
00:34:39the previous week. So, look, the
00:34:41styling was probably perfect
00:34:43but then the finishing wasn't perfect.
00:34:51It's time for you to decide which contestants
00:34:53you think have created this week's
00:34:55winning room. All you have to do
00:34:57is head to the Block website now
00:34:59to cast your vote. And don't miss the results
00:35:01a little later in the show.
00:35:13How's two? You ready? Ready, Scotty.
00:35:15Happy birthday. Thank you, mate.
00:35:17Thank you for yesterday.
00:35:19This week
00:35:23felt like a fresh start.
00:35:25We have more
00:35:27of a multifunctional space, so
00:35:29Nanny could stay, could be friends or family.
00:35:31Obviously tying in that Mediterranean
00:35:33vibe.
00:35:35Did I hear a rumour that
00:35:37you guys don't have a builder anymore?
00:35:39No, that's not a rumour.
00:35:41Yes, we don't have a builder anymore.
00:35:43I made the decision yesterday to get rid
00:35:45of my builders with no replacement, no
00:35:47potential builder in sight.
00:35:49That's how serious I was about not working with them again
00:35:51and proving the point that I had paid my invoice.
00:35:53Then we've got
00:35:55similar like recessed walling is what we do
00:35:57in the bathroom where it curves in. And we need to
00:35:59fit off the
00:36:01skirting. Shout out to Zach
00:36:03who's the builder for House One. Kind enough
00:36:05to lend a helping hand.
00:36:07That's how you create your curve.
00:36:09You just get real tight and then
00:36:11sort of bend it in. Did an incredible job
00:36:13on our curved skirting.
00:36:15Yeah, I didn't even think that was possible.
00:36:17I just want to take the bed out and just showcase the room without a bed.
00:36:19Just about skirting.
00:36:21We're going to try and add
00:36:23nice calming colours.
00:36:25God, these are so nice. Keeping it real lux.
00:36:27I hope the judges
00:36:29walk in there and
00:36:31slowly see all the little details.
00:36:33I can confidently say we've continued
00:36:35the aesthetic. Mediterranean.
00:36:37She's got it rolling off the tongue now.
00:36:39She said I don't want
00:36:41your money, babe.
00:36:43I just want
00:36:45your hand.
00:36:47Let me take
00:36:49a holiday.
00:36:51Keep work off if
00:36:53you can.
00:36:55She's got
00:36:57it rolling off her hand.
00:37:03When Marty Fox walked
00:37:05in, he said,
00:37:07Oh wow.
00:37:09Look at the curves.
00:37:11Hmm.
00:37:13Darren
00:37:15had a Cheshire grin
00:37:17and said,
00:37:19My heart just jumped out of my chest.
00:37:21This is special.
00:37:23Shanna was
00:37:25right there with him today.
00:37:27She loved the curves. They've got the little
00:37:29curves like they had in the bathroom.
00:37:31Yeah. Wow.
00:37:33This is insane.
00:37:35It's beautiful. I love
00:37:37how they have got a
00:37:39completely different colour for their artwork
00:37:41but all the earthiness works in with the
00:37:43slight tone
00:37:45of accessories and
00:37:47everything again is tactile and textural.
00:37:53Darren went looking
00:37:55for PowerPoints and found them.
00:37:57But more importantly,
00:37:59he found that the skirting boards
00:38:01actually curve with the wall.
00:38:05That skirting
00:38:07is sexy.
00:38:09Wow.
00:38:11That's a curved
00:38:13profile on a curved wall.
00:38:15They would have had to cut that
00:38:17on the back like little
00:38:19slots and then gently
00:38:21mould it and then fill it and sand
00:38:23it. That's hot.
00:38:25These guys are next level.
00:38:27An absolutely
00:38:29outstanding detail.
00:38:31Marty also took a moment
00:38:33to look at the finishes
00:38:35and agrees they're very high end
00:38:37finishes throughout as usual.
00:38:39Look at the mood lighting in the study nook.
00:38:41They've used that same material
00:38:43for the bathrooms. They're tying everything
00:38:45back in so beautifully. It's not
00:38:47in your face but it's just enough
00:38:49to make you think, wow,
00:38:51there's a skill set here
00:38:53and that's why I love it.
00:38:55I was really impressed with your room and said
00:38:57For me, I'm going to call it early.
00:38:59These guys are the front runner.
00:39:01They really are.
00:39:03Aaron or Marty?
00:39:05Marty said that.
00:39:07Real estate.
00:39:13Marty couldn't stop the compliments.
00:39:15So much
00:39:17thought behind all the little details
00:39:19and I think that's what really separates
00:39:21Courtney and Grant's rooms is that
00:39:23they go so intricate and it
00:39:25just feels like a different
00:39:27level of finish. This feels
00:39:29extremely high end.
00:39:31Well, I want to see how intricate the wardrobe
00:39:33is on the inside.
00:39:35We've got a double hang,
00:39:37long hang, and then
00:39:39we've got this part of the wardrobe.
00:39:41Darren Palmer noted
00:39:43one planning issue.
00:39:45Got your drawers.
00:39:47Ooh, not the place I'd put drawers.
00:39:49I was going to say, I would always
00:39:51put them over there because you've got the door here.
00:39:53That gets left
00:39:55open and that's a lock.
00:39:57You actually can't get into the room
00:39:59because if that didn't
00:40:01have drawers in it, it only had a hinge,
00:40:03that wouldn't block that door.
00:40:05So that's actually a bit
00:40:07of a problem. Shane, I did have one question
00:40:09Mark, about the inclusions in
00:40:11this room. I love
00:40:13when I come across a room that's perfect, but
00:40:15there's the details like that that don't
00:40:17make it perfect. For me, those lights
00:40:19don't make it perfect because I find them really odd.
00:40:21They feel like spaceships.
00:40:23It almost looks like a mistake because it's not an
00:40:25obvious height difference.
00:40:27It's just enough.
00:40:29Oh, it's not enough for me.
00:40:31Fair to say she wasn't a big fan of the
00:40:33pendants,
00:40:35but back to the positives.
00:40:37Four
00:40:39weeks in, they really understand
00:40:41their colour palette.
00:40:43Their craftsmanship is
00:40:45elite and from a
00:40:47marketability perspective, buyers
00:40:49will walk through these first four rooms and
00:40:51love what they're doing.
00:40:53It's so
00:40:55exciting and I'm obsessed with this house.
00:40:57Yeah, it's hot.
00:40:59This house is an auctioneer's
00:41:01dream.
00:41:03So you can take
00:41:05Marty's comments today as your birthday
00:41:07present from the judges. That's
00:41:09it.
00:41:15Really, really good feedback.
00:41:17Marty has been really consistent with
00:41:19our feedback, same as Darren.
00:41:21Shane are up and down.
00:41:25Okay, here we go
00:41:27boys. Hard to follow that one, Scotty.
00:41:29Ready?
00:41:31This week was
00:41:33bar crushing.
00:41:35This is the most
00:41:37unfinished room in
00:41:39block history. To not deliver an
00:41:41en-suite, yeah, we really felt like we'd let
00:41:43ourselves down.
00:41:45Guest room this week is
00:41:47side by side with the
00:41:49kitchen.
00:41:51It's a bit of a mess.
00:41:53Guest room this week is side by side with
00:41:55the guest room we did from
00:41:57week two. Absolutely pumped.
00:41:59We've got Duncan the boy starting from
00:42:01pound hour. Yeah, Duncan's the best of the best.
00:42:05I'm sort of going to bet you're going to show me a curve.
00:42:07We're trying to incorporate
00:42:09our curves through the house.
00:42:11So we're doing a bulkhead curve
00:42:13that comes out off the wall, built in LED,
00:42:15Graphico wallpaper
00:42:17as like that feature on that wall.
00:42:19That's cool. That'd be cool.
00:42:23We've got our nice peachy colours,
00:42:25still quite soft, luxurious though.
00:42:27That's a lot of pillows.
00:42:29That's the bed. Cheers, Jack.
00:42:33Love the LED light.
00:42:35It's going to tie our room together
00:42:37perfectly, mate. Well done. And it's over to you for styling.
00:42:39That's what I'm worried about.
00:42:41I'm hoping that they
00:42:43notice that we're listening to their
00:42:45advice and their critiques.
00:42:49It certainly feels
00:42:51to leave some bounds ahead of the bed.
00:42:53One, we've done enough
00:42:55to get the win.
00:42:57Well done, boys.
00:43:09Well done, boys.
00:43:11I actually have to think
00:43:13what house we're in.
00:43:15It's finished. And stylish.
00:43:17Like, are we in the boys' room?
00:43:19Shona was loving
00:43:21the off-centre feature wall.
00:43:23If you did want a bigger bed or if you want two singles,
00:43:25you're not governed by a fixed bed head.
00:43:27I think sophistication
00:43:29in this room,
00:43:31first time I think I've said sophistication for the boys,
00:43:33I really feel it.
00:43:35And I feel the fact that they're understanding
00:43:37the tactility that we've said about the other
00:43:39houses. Like, you know, they've got the boucle
00:43:41and they've got the linen.
00:43:43There's classiness in here.
00:43:45I love it. I love this
00:43:47a lot.
00:43:49That's like me and the bar crusher, Scotty.
00:43:53There's detail and detail.
00:43:55I love the shadow line between the ceiling and the
00:43:57walls. This is lovely
00:43:59between the jam and the wall too. You've got that
00:44:01continued shadow line all the way around.
00:44:03And, I mean, that takes effort. It takes
00:44:05time. It actually means
00:44:07you've got to have a good builder that knows
00:44:09what they're doing and plan properly
00:44:11so that you can get your kickboards
00:44:13in line with your wall
00:44:15with the shadow line in between.
00:44:17I'm so glad they've got a new builder. This is just
00:44:19levels ahead of what
00:44:21was there before. This is
00:44:23streets ahead of every other room they've done
00:44:25so far. I'm sure you fellas
00:44:27feel the same way.
00:44:29Marty agreed.
00:44:31He thinks the buyers will love this direction
00:44:33you are going in. I think that they've
00:44:35delivered a room that a
00:44:37buyer will walk through and really appreciate.
00:44:39And it will shoot well. I think it's a really,
00:44:41really good effort. The only thing would be that
00:44:43you only get one bedside
00:44:45lamp, but it is a guest room and it
00:44:47means that they can bring in this beautiful curve
00:44:49which actually gives the room
00:44:51a bit of personality.
00:44:53Shona's only concern this week is
00:44:55she wasn't sure of the colour matching.
00:44:57Like, they've committed to that yellow which is just
00:44:59beautiful and it works with all the warm tones.
00:45:01But they've gone for the grey
00:45:03tone in the carpet and the grey
00:45:05on the wardrobes. And so
00:45:07if you look at the grey with that yellow,
00:45:09it's the wrong, it should be a warmer
00:45:11tone. So I know you can get that
00:45:13laminate in a warmer tone and
00:45:15I know you can get that carpet in a warmer tone.
00:45:17So to me it's just their colours.
00:45:19Marty agreed. He thought
00:45:21the concrete finish on those
00:45:23wardrobe doors was
00:45:25too industrial. Hopefully that
00:45:27style doesn't go into the main bedroom.
00:45:29I think they need to
00:45:31look at reverting back to a more
00:45:33coastal feel because that to me
00:45:35feels a bit stark. I think the great thing is the boys
00:45:37listen. You know, they changed
00:45:39the colour, they worked out what they were going to do
00:45:41and to me they've got this room
00:45:43palette-wise and look-wise
00:45:45absolutely perfect this way.
00:45:47Joan, I want you to take inspiration
00:45:49from the Grafico wallpaper
00:45:51for the rest of your home.
00:45:53Look at the palm and the
00:45:55bananas there. Not one house
00:45:57here has taken reference from
00:45:59this street that is lined with
00:46:01palm trees. Everywhere. Guys,
00:46:03grab it. You're the first people.
00:46:05Own it. Take it.
00:46:07It does feel so holiday-ish
00:46:09in here. That is their look and feel now.
00:46:11I think it should be holiday resort.
00:46:13We are in a resort. No one else has done it.
00:46:15It's theirs. Run with it.
00:46:17Run with it. The decisions they've
00:46:19made in here in terms of the inclusions
00:46:21and design, spot on.
00:46:25Happy days, boys.
00:46:27You now know your style, boys.
00:46:29It's called Holiday
00:46:31Resort.
00:46:33Might as well be it also
00:46:35comes with a bar crusher.
00:46:37Okay, that's it.
00:46:39Thanks, mate.
00:46:41It was a lot more positive than we had
00:46:43last week. I think they even
00:46:45gave us a design
00:46:47which... New style.
00:46:49What's it called?
00:46:51It's called...
00:46:53What is it?
00:46:57Lost it. Holiday Resort.
00:46:59Thanks, mate. Really important
00:47:01information. Your style
00:47:03is called Holiday Resort.
00:47:17Okay, house four.
00:47:19Curling bread.
00:47:23I'd say this week has been
00:47:25compromise.
00:47:27The room this week
00:47:29we're just going to do
00:47:31like an older teen slash
00:47:33another guest room.
00:47:35If you don't do bunks, you could really segment
00:47:37the market. We're not aiming at a family of kids.
00:47:39You're not? Okay.
00:47:41They suggested that I need to have multiple beds in this room.
00:47:43So that's really thrown me.
00:47:45My art that I've been
00:47:47asking for is a Melbourne artist
00:47:49so it can get delivered this week.
00:47:51I'm compromising.
00:47:53I'm doing a kids room
00:47:55in a slightly more
00:47:57coastal direction.
00:47:59Which I would normally do.
00:48:01I really wanted to do
00:48:03a hanging chair from the ceiling.
00:48:05Wouldn't all kids love a little hanging chair in their bedroom?
00:48:07I was actually nervous about it being too close to the window
00:48:09but it takes your heart.
00:48:11Of course it's alright. I want them to see that
00:48:13we actually are listening and we're trying to take it all
00:48:15on board. We need to win rooms but
00:48:17we have a penguin
00:48:19up our sleeve to give us the edge
00:48:21over our competition. Which I don't
00:48:23think we'll ever need to use but
00:48:25if we get to, it'll be fun.
00:48:30If they say
00:48:32they love it, I'm sticking with them.
00:48:34If they say they don't, I'm sticking with
00:48:36black.
00:48:40Wait a minute.
00:48:42Where are we?
00:48:51Hey, I told you. They have
00:48:53turned the right corner.
00:48:55This is it. They've
00:48:57done it. This is where they need
00:48:59to be. Darren said
00:49:01I'm not seeing any of the things
00:49:03we don't like in here.
00:49:05This is what I've been saying every single week
00:49:07in every single room because I could see
00:49:09it in my head. I could see
00:49:11that just what they're trying to do
00:49:13plus a little shift,
00:49:15just a little turn and
00:49:17they would be able to add the nuance
00:49:19of timber and the darkness
00:49:21this house can wear and
00:49:23it feels soft and
00:49:25light and bright. Yes!
00:49:27It seems like you were listening too.
00:49:29Yes? Yes.
00:49:31Shona thinks everything connects.
00:49:33The fact that they've got the timber
00:49:35floor with a beautiful textured
00:49:37rug on top of it that just has
00:49:39tiny flecks of black in it
00:49:41that connects to the wardrobe
00:49:43and the fact that we've got a black fan
00:49:45and black pans makes it
00:49:47that a little bit industrial
00:49:49but it's earthy because of all the natural
00:49:51timbers.
00:49:53Marty said he thinks this room is incredibly
00:49:55marketable
00:49:57and you are now building a very appealing house.
00:49:59I also like the fact that
00:50:01even from the rooms that we've seen
00:50:03when the agent puts the gallery of photos
00:50:05together, we've seen some rooms
00:50:07that were a bit stark and they're starting to
00:50:09really soften up and if they play
00:50:11from bedroom to bathroom to bedroom
00:50:13to bathroom and the bedrooms are softening
00:50:15that entire palette throughout the entire
00:50:17gallery, that'll engage
00:50:19the buyers extremely well and
00:50:21this is the only house that
00:50:23sleeps seven people so far
00:50:25and these homes are used for
00:50:27holidays, families getting together,
00:50:29Airbnbs and the fact that they can
00:50:31sleep seven people so far
00:50:33means that they're one person ahead of the pack
00:50:35and if you've got that in a holiday home
00:50:37where you get the highest rent, you get the highest
00:50:39bookage and you really
00:50:41build an amazing investment opportunity.
00:50:43Shona thinks you're learning about artwork
00:50:45more and more every week.
00:50:47Appropriately coastal.
00:50:49Reminded the judges of a jellyfish.
00:50:51That looks like jellyfish.
00:50:53Yes, it looks like jellyfish.
00:50:55It was a jellyfish, wasn't it?
00:50:57No, it was like... Riptide. Yeah, rips in the sand.
00:50:59Really? Yeah.
00:51:01I'm like jellyfish.
00:51:03I would say that is a jellyfish every day.
00:51:05I love the texture of it.
00:51:07I love it's reminiscent of foam on the ocean.
00:51:09It's giving me all of the
00:51:11touch points and emotional
00:51:13feedback in terms of the materials
00:51:15they've used, the forms they've used.
00:51:17It feels absolutely right
00:51:19for Phillip Island. Shona wasn't so
00:51:21sure about putting a kid's swing chair
00:51:23next to the window.
00:51:27So...
00:51:29That's okay.
00:51:31Quite inset that window. That's not too bad
00:51:33but you've got little kids in here
00:51:35that don't know to stop themselves.
00:51:37What's it going to hit though? Is it going to hit steel or is it
00:51:39going to hit glass? It's going to hit glass.
00:51:41It's going to hit glass.
00:51:43Double glazed glass though.
00:51:45That's pretty sturdy.
00:51:47I just would not put this in front of a window.
00:51:49Come on Shona.
00:51:51It'd be a big kid.
00:51:53Wouldn't be safe if it was me. Hate on Scotty.
00:51:55Marty thinks you've really
00:51:57stepped it up a gear and delivered a high end
00:51:59coastal room. Really starting
00:52:01to see a house that is
00:52:03starting to feel complete
00:52:05and the rooms are working off
00:52:07one another and this is testament.
00:52:09This is the course that they need to stay on.
00:52:11I think they've done a beautiful job.
00:52:13I think they've got the balance right. If they wanted to put
00:52:15a bit more black in here they would have still been
00:52:17okay for me. They really would have.
00:52:19So I hope they feel like
00:52:21they haven't lost their sense of who they are
00:52:23as dramatic people.
00:52:25Because Kylie and Brad, they've had an idea
00:52:27but they haven't been able to implement it properly.
00:52:29They've got half of it right every week.
00:52:31Half right. But now
00:52:33the feeling and the appropriateness
00:52:35to this location is complete.
00:52:37I'm so happy.
00:52:39That is it.
00:52:41Well done.
00:52:47Clearly I can do coastal.
00:52:51Do I want to do coastal?
00:52:53No, I don't. It's a kids room. It cannot
00:52:55tie in with everything else.
00:52:57Okay.
00:53:11Okay.
00:53:13How's fun?
00:53:15You ready? Yes.
00:53:21This week was a bag of joy.
00:53:27For the winners of the previous
00:53:29weeks. Maybe got a little bit arrogant.
00:53:31That's it.
00:53:33To hear that
00:53:35I don't think, you know,
00:53:37it's not very nice.
00:53:41A kids room should feel
00:53:43fun. Fun.
00:53:45Playful. Cozy.
00:53:47Alive.
00:53:51I found what I was looking for
00:53:53but without the bed head and a different colour.
00:53:55Wondering if I could
00:53:57change the colour.
00:53:59Unfortunately it's the only colour
00:54:01that comes in. No.
00:54:03So with the trundle bed it came with
00:54:05a bed head but essentially
00:54:07I wanted the end part
00:54:09to be at the head part as well.
00:54:11The foot of the bed to be the bed head. Yeah.
00:54:13Because I've already got a bed head.
00:54:15I feel defeated.
00:54:17I hate my life.
00:54:19So in order for them to make that work
00:54:21they had to send us four
00:54:23beds. At the end of it
00:54:25we're going to have four teal
00:54:27bed heads that are not going to be used.
00:54:29Yes. And the remaining four
00:54:31bases.
00:54:33Our bed heads
00:54:35are like these massive like cloud
00:54:37looking things that's going to go across the whole
00:54:39back wall. And it's going to be the two
00:54:41single beds with the trundle underneath.
00:54:43Do you want me to take it out? Yeah. Unbox that
00:54:45for me please. And
00:54:47also we have a rainbow.
00:54:49Yes. We have a rainbow.
00:54:51That looks cool.
00:54:53Happy? Very happy.
00:54:55So happy. Oh my god.
00:54:57Happy to work with you guys. It's good.
00:54:59I want the judges to walk in and be like
00:55:01oh I love it
00:55:03look how cute.
00:55:05I also want to hear and they are
00:55:07back because they think we
00:55:09fell off. They are back in business. They said that
00:55:11the wheels fell off so hopefully this is
00:55:13back on.
00:55:21Oh.
00:55:29First thing he said is
00:55:31Christian and Mimi look at this
00:55:33bed head. How
00:55:35beautiful is that?
00:55:37Darren said
00:55:39for goodness sake
00:55:41make our jobs easier.
00:55:43Another totally stunning room.
00:55:45And he agreed 100% with Marty
00:55:47about the bed head.
00:55:49Please
00:55:51look how good this is.
00:55:53Clouds
00:55:55with a silver lining
00:55:57and a rainbow behind them.
00:55:59That's
00:56:01the idea
00:56:03of the day. This is magic.
00:56:05Yeah.
00:56:07Darren said
00:56:09the styling is amazing.
00:56:11Everything in here I could say
00:56:13are beautiful and then just point at something
00:56:15because it's a beautiful ottoman
00:56:17and a beautiful throw
00:56:19and a beautiful bed cover and a beautiful
00:56:21bed head. And a beautiful little fox
00:56:23on the bed. Which one? This one or that one?
00:56:27Shona was still marvelling at the
00:56:29colour choices in the room.
00:56:31I think the colour palette is so
00:56:33sophisticated. I absolutely
00:56:35adore it.
00:56:37That soft
00:56:39colour palette is actually
00:56:41art deco and 50s
00:56:43but they've actually
00:56:45turned it into this beautiful modern
00:56:47beach feel and it really works.
00:56:49It feels very beachy.
00:56:51And to add all these rainbows everywhere
00:56:53without taking it over the top
00:56:55is really clever.
00:56:57We've got all these little
00:56:59rainbows and these circles and
00:57:01arches. We've got rainbows on
00:57:03the shelves. We've got a rainbow artwork.
00:57:05We've got a rainbow graphic.
00:57:07We've got the rainbow and arches on
00:57:09the bed like to bring all together
00:57:11these references without it
00:57:13feeling over the top.
00:57:15Marty thinks the bed head is likely
00:57:17to break the internet.
00:57:25This bed head, I can say this being
00:57:27a best seller because this is stunning.
00:57:29And this is on the block shop, this bed head.
00:57:31You'd want to buy it with
00:57:33the LEDs behind it every
00:57:35single time. That is so effective.
00:57:37It's so magical and whimsical.
00:57:39Marty,
00:57:41it did have a question mark
00:57:43over the beds.
00:57:45The trundle, this is a great addition
00:57:47for storage but I'm not too sure if it's
00:57:49suitable for a mattress
00:57:51because it doesn't look like there's enough space here.
00:57:53Definitely not room.
00:57:55I suppose if you leave it in there then you can take the mattress
00:57:57out to another area in the future but
00:57:59you're not going to have them sleeping in here.
00:58:01They're not really functional in this space.
00:58:03Darren Palmer
00:58:05thinks there's definitely no
00:58:07complacency with this room.
00:58:09It's such a beautifully
00:58:11styled room. The colour palette is
00:58:13gorgeously resolved.
00:58:15I love all the textures and the materials.
00:58:17Christian and Mimi
00:58:19probably got a bit complacent
00:58:21last week and we saw it.
00:58:23We saw what happens when you think you're going to win
00:58:25every single room.
00:58:27I don't see complacency here.
00:58:29I just see expertise.
00:58:31I see attention to
00:58:33detail, high levels of finish,
00:58:35beautiful layout,
00:58:37great decisions and design.
00:58:41I mean, they're back baby.
00:58:45That's all I wanted to hear.
00:58:47I think we've done enough to
00:58:49contend.
00:58:51I think we've done enough for the win as well.
00:58:53I think it's beautiful.
00:59:05Okay.
00:59:07You ready for the scores?
00:59:09We sure are. Okay, here we go.
00:59:11It's going to be tight. And here's my present
00:59:13to you, Grant.
00:59:19Grumpy bum.
00:59:21What's the matter with you?
00:59:23Hi, honey.
00:59:25Oh, grumpy.
00:59:29Alright, here we go. Darren Palmer,
00:59:31Jessie and Paige.
00:59:33Greens and pink. Everything works
00:59:35really beautifully.
00:59:41Caught in grumpy.
00:59:43That skirting
00:59:45is sexy.
00:59:53Ricky and Hayden.
00:59:55This is streets ahead
00:59:57of every other room they've done.
00:59:59Ooh,
01:00:01that's big.
01:00:03Carly and Brad.
01:00:05It feels
01:00:07soft and light and bright.
01:00:09It feels absolutely right
01:00:11for Phillip Island.
01:00:19Christian and Mimi.
01:00:21I don't see complacency here.
01:00:23I just see expertise.
01:00:29How tight
01:00:31is that?
01:00:33Are you going to use it?
01:00:35If it's you, yes.
01:00:37Yes.
01:00:39Marty Fox,
01:00:41Jessie and Paige.
01:00:43The fact that they know their style,
01:00:45I think is really setting them up for success
01:00:47on the block.
01:00:55Courtney and Gramps.
01:00:57Buyers will walk through these first
01:00:59four rooms and love
01:01:01what they're doing.
01:01:09Ricky and Hayden.
01:01:11I think that they've delivered a room
01:01:13that a buyer will walk through
01:01:15and really appreciate.
01:01:23Carly and Brad.
01:01:25Really starting
01:01:27to see a house that is
01:01:29starting to feel complete.
01:01:31This is the course that they need to stay on.
01:01:37Christian and Mimi.
01:01:39This bedhead, I can see this being
01:01:41a bestseller because this is stunning.
01:01:47Okay, Carly and Brad.
01:01:49Decision time.
01:01:51What are you going to do with the bonus point
01:01:53for the penguin?
01:01:59No.
01:02:01Are you sure?
01:02:05You don't want to play it?
01:02:07No, thank you.
01:02:09No.
01:02:11It's mine, I'm taking it home.
01:02:13What?
01:02:15I'm sure they'll give you the penguin.
01:02:17You can't take it home, or you can if you want.
01:02:19No, I don't want to play it.
01:02:21Why?
01:02:23Because I don't want to.
01:02:25No, thank you, Scotty.
01:02:27You want to take the penguin home?
01:02:29Home.
01:02:31To North Queensland.
01:02:33It's a bonus point.
01:02:37I'm saving it, thank you.
01:02:39Okay, see you later.
01:02:41I feel sick.
01:02:43I didn't expect that.
01:02:45I would have played it.
01:02:47Are you mad at me?
01:02:49Sam, I'm mad at you.
01:02:51Shana Blige, Jessie and Paige, here we go.
01:02:53I just think it's elegant, it's classy,
01:02:55it's stunning.
01:02:59Courtney and Grumpy.
01:03:01For me, those lights don't make it perfect,
01:03:03because I find them really odd.
01:03:05Rikki and Hayden.
01:03:07That is their look and feel now.
01:03:09I think it should be holiday resort.
01:03:11We are in a resort.
01:03:13No one else has done it. It's theirs.
01:03:15Carly and Brad.
01:03:17I think they balanced right.
01:03:19If they wanted to put a bit more black in here,
01:03:21they would have still been okay.
01:03:23Christian and Mimic.
01:03:25I think the colour palette is so sophisticated.
01:03:27I absolutely adore it.
01:03:29Okay, the winner of week four
01:03:31on the block,
01:03:33and taking home a heap of stuff.
01:03:35$30,000 worth, in fact,
01:03:37is by half a point...
01:03:39Oh, no.
01:03:41$30,000.
01:03:45Christian and Mimic.
01:03:55Oh, my God.
01:03:57Over the moon. Cannot believe it.
01:03:59Three out of four.
01:04:01Back from last week,
01:04:03all we wanted to hear from any judge
01:04:05is, they're back.
01:04:07And we got that exact feedback.
01:04:09Carly and Brad,
01:04:11you would have won if you played the penguin.
01:04:13Not only have Mimic
01:04:15and Christian won the $10,000 from Ford,
01:04:17they've also snatched up
01:04:19a $10,000 wardrobe upgrade
01:04:21from Hayfley, and a $10,000
01:04:23vintage Gucci dress and earrings
01:04:25thanks to Kingsman.
01:04:27For the third time, Mimic and Christian
01:04:29have taken out the win with 28 points.
01:04:31Second is Carly and Brad on
01:04:3327.5, missing out on the win
01:04:35by just half a point.
01:04:37Third place, Courtney and Grant
01:04:39on 27 points.
01:04:41And equal last,
01:04:43Ricky and Hayden and Jessie and Paige,
01:04:45scoring 26.5.
01:04:49Congratulations, guys. That's three
01:04:51out of four, and the prizes
01:04:53don't end there because
01:04:55you, my friends, are up for a fantastic
01:04:57night with me. Some block royalty
01:04:59is coming into town.
01:05:01You're going to have an audience with them.
01:05:03I'll be there as well. It's going to be a fantastic
01:05:05night and evening
01:05:07at a place called Five Acres on the Island.
01:05:09It's a beautiful joint.
01:05:11You're going to stay the night and have a beautiful night's sleep.
01:05:13As for everybody else, a very important
01:05:15room will drop on
01:05:17the Domain Hub first thing tomorrow morning.
01:05:19Look out for that.
01:05:21Get some sleep, everybody.
01:05:23It's going to be a big week. Good luck.
01:05:25See you later.
01:05:29Baby time?
01:05:31Baby time?
01:05:34That's so cute.
01:05:38Did you deliberately just
01:05:40say no to a win
01:05:42because you disagreed with the judges?
01:05:44Yes. Yes, I did.
01:05:46I don't want to win a room that I don't
01:05:48even like. How's that fair?
01:05:50I was like, play it!
01:05:52Look at the prizes! And Chris was like...
01:05:54Mimi was like, Kylie,
01:05:56play the penguin. And I was squeezing her hand. I was like...
01:05:58You're right, mate. You seem a bit...
01:06:00I mean, it's hard not to take a win,
01:06:02but what's happening?
01:06:04I just want to win. I hate not winning.
01:06:06I'm getting a bit sick of not winning.
01:06:08I'm not here to finish second.
01:06:10I'm not.
01:06:12We did, and I think we finished third.
01:06:14No, we finished equal last.
01:06:16Next week...
01:06:18I know it's tough.
01:06:20It is a big decision and a brave one that you both made.
01:06:22And you should be proud of what you've done so far.
01:06:24In an emotional parting,
01:06:26one team will leave the block.
01:06:28It was really tough to say goodbye.
01:06:30You feel like you've known these people for a lifetime already.
01:06:34Who will step in and save a half-completed house?
01:06:36Roddy and Georgia.
01:06:38Guys, thank you so much for coming.
01:06:42Is this their time lapping?
01:06:44Well, what is going on?
01:06:46Kylie looks wrapped.
01:06:48You look stoked.
01:06:50If they come on, I'm leaving. I'm done.
01:06:56It's the all-important main bedroom week,
01:06:58and the judges go gaga.
01:07:02What the actual hell?
01:07:06Talk about personality.
01:07:08This takes my breath away.
01:07:12Our room reveal galleries are now open for inspection,
01:07:14exclusively at the block website.
