00:08making for the worst week for stocks in over a year.
00:12There's growing investor fear.
00:14Anticipated rate cuts by the Federal Reserve will come too late to prevent a recession.
00:19Those fears were sparked by government data confirming a slowdown in the labor market in August.
00:24Attention next week turns to the latest inflation data and big product reveals from Apple.
00:30In other news, everyone is always looking for ways to save,
00:33and if you're looking to score an online deal,
00:35then your best bet is to go shopping on Friday, according to new research.
00:40Simply Codes took a look at the marketing habits of more than 30,000 retailers between March and July
00:46and noticed that more coupons and discounts were released closer to Friday.
00:51In fact, half of all discounts showed up in e-mails between Wednesday and Friday,
00:56with the number of deals jumping roughly 20% on Friday alone.
01:01According to the group's findings, quote,
01:03retailers often release new deals on Fridays to capitalize on the weekend shopping rush.
01:09With many people receiving their paychecks on Fridays,
01:12stores aim to capture that fresh spending power.
01:15The biggest Friday deals are for women's apparel, skin care products, and alcoholic beverages.
01:20Sense a theme there?
01:22All of them point to a fun night out for the ladies.
01:25Can't find the deal you want?
01:27Log on to coupon aggregators like Simply Codes, RetailMeNot, or Coupon Cabin
