00:00:30Prepare for the launch of Vesta's new social media app.
00:00:49Goodnight, Maya.
00:00:50Goodnight, Craig.
00:00:51Real places.
00:00:52Real people.
00:00:53Real life.
00:00:54That's good.
00:00:56That's really good.
00:00:59Hey, Vesta, book a bike at Spin Cycle for eight, then dinner for one at Chi Chi, and
00:01:11set alarm for 6 a.m.
00:01:12Your requests are confirmed.
00:01:18This is Maya Alvearo.
00:01:21Allegra?
00:01:24Allegra Adams?
00:01:26Yes, I'll hold.
00:01:33Ms. Adams?
00:01:35Yes.
00:01:38Tomorrow?
00:01:40The Whitewater Lodge?
00:01:44That sounds lovely.
00:01:45Is it a spa?
00:01:48No, it's not a spa.
00:01:50Okay.
00:01:52Yes, I will see you tomorrow.
00:01:55Okay, bye-bye.
00:02:00Maya, can't wait to see that press release.
00:02:05Are you okay?
00:02:07Allegra Adams just called me.
00:02:10Allegra Adams, Vesta's CEO, just called you?
00:02:13Yes.
00:02:14Okay.
00:02:15What about exactly?
00:02:16She wants me to represent the Vesta East office
00:02:20at a corporate retreat in the Rocky Mountains.
00:02:23When?
00:02:23I would leave tomorrow for four days.
00:02:26I can't take time off work.
00:02:28I'm still working on the bid
00:02:29for the Highlight Reel contract.
00:02:32Why now?
00:02:33She knows that all four offices
00:02:35will be working on their launch proposals.
00:02:37Yeah.
00:02:43Okay.
00:02:44Allegra is bringing in one rep
00:02:46from each of the four regional offices
00:02:48to a retreat in the Colorado Mountains.
00:02:59She's scouting.
00:03:00Scouting for what?
00:03:02Scouting for whom?
00:03:04She's not one of America's top CEOs for nothing.
00:03:07She's using this weekend retreat
00:03:09as a guise to cherry pick which office
00:03:11will take the lead on the Highlight Reel app.
00:03:13She is?
00:03:14Think about it.
00:03:15The app shares filterless photos from precise locations.
00:03:19What better way to showcase all of that
00:03:21than a wilderness retreat to the Rockies?
00:03:23And you, Maya Alvaro,
00:03:25are representing Vesta East's opportunity for greatness.
00:03:28I am?
00:03:29Well, she knew that I would see
00:03:30right through the whole setup,
00:03:32but you, you are fresh bait for the forest.
00:03:35Forest bait?
00:03:38You know, I've never been to the Rocky Mountains
00:03:41or any mountains.
00:03:43Doesn't matter.
00:03:44Well, you know, Marilyn, I'm more of an indoorsy person.
00:03:48Find your outdoorsy.
00:03:49There we go.
00:03:51It's gonna be tough competition.
00:03:53I want you to take detailed notes
00:03:55and report back to me on all the employees,
00:03:57their strengths, their weaknesses,
00:03:58and how we can use those to our advantage.
00:04:02I really don't think I'm the best person for this.
00:04:05Actually, I'm probably the worst.
00:04:07Which is exactly why she chose you.
00:04:10You are all going to be put through the churner,
00:04:12but the cream, Maya, the cream always rises to the top.
00:04:16This is your chance to prove to me
00:04:17that you deserve the executive position
00:04:19you've been working so hard for.
00:04:21This is how you earn it.
00:04:23Don't let me down.
00:04:25♪♪♪♪
00:04:37I can't believe I get to house sit for you all weekend.
00:04:40That's if I last all weekend.
00:04:42Thank you, by the way.
00:04:43What are little sisters for?
00:04:45Besides, I'm just gonna be studying anyways.
00:04:47That's what I like to hear.
00:04:49How's the prep tutor working out?
00:04:51You got me the best in the country.
00:04:53I might even qualify for scholarships just like you.
00:04:55Just remember, I'm gonna make sure
00:04:56you go to college no matter what.
00:04:58Yeah, but if you have to pay for my tuition,
00:05:00you're gonna be stuck in this apartment forever.
00:05:02Well, what are big sisters for?
00:05:05Okay, what does the list say to pack for the outdoors?
00:05:08Okay, hiking boots.
00:05:11Already wearing them.
00:05:12Cute.
00:05:13Warm jacket.
00:05:14Check.
00:05:15Hat.
00:05:16Check.
00:05:17Bear spray.
00:05:18Oh.
00:05:21I have this nice-smelling spray.
00:05:24Check.
00:05:25Okay, Swiss army knife and non-perishable food.
00:05:29Oh.
00:05:30Oh, I know.
00:05:32What about this?
00:05:37Looks Swiss to me.
00:05:38Yep.
00:05:40And non-perishable?
00:05:41Granola bars?
00:05:42Yes.
00:05:43Bingo.
00:05:44All right.
00:05:45We're all set.
00:05:46You know what?
00:05:47This might actually be easy.
00:05:48Your flight to Colorado leaves in three hours.
00:05:49Thanks, Vesta.
00:05:50Oh.
00:05:51Oh.
00:05:52Oh.
00:05:53Oh.
00:05:54Oh.
00:05:55Oh.
00:05:56Oh.
00:05:57Oh.
00:05:58Oh.
00:05:59Oh.
00:06:00Oh.
00:06:01Oh.
00:06:02Oh.
00:06:03Oh.
00:06:04Oh.
00:06:05Oh.
00:06:06Oh.
00:06:07Oh.
00:06:08Oh.
00:06:09Oh.
00:06:10Oh.
00:06:11Oh.
00:06:12Oh.
00:06:13Oh.
00:06:14Oh.
00:06:15Oh.
00:06:16Oh.
00:06:33Oh.
00:06:34Allegra Adams.
00:06:35Adams. I was just catching my breath. Nothing like mountain air, is there? No, I
00:06:41really can't get enough of it. Literally. It hits you different a mile up. Yeah.
00:06:47Maya Alvaro from Vesta East offices in New York City. I know who you are and
00:06:54you're late. First challenge of the weekend has already begun.
00:06:58Everyone's a cat and everyone's a mouse and they're all hiding in the forest.
00:07:05All you have to do is catch them and capture their ribbon. First one to three
00:07:12wins. In there? Oh and when you get back we'll find you a real pair of hiking
00:07:18boots. Thanks. Catch and capture. Okay. And they're all hiding deep in the forest.
00:07:48Oh, I'm so sorry. I thought you were a bear. No, not a bear. No. No, person. Yeah. Is that a
00:08:08gardenia? Oh, thank you. It's French. Definitely French. I'm getting notes of
00:08:13Oh, a floral bouquet. That's it. A hit of vanilla. Vanilla. I didn't mean to scare you. No, don't worry.
00:08:24Wow, that jacket. I love that jacket on you. Oh, thank you. Where is it from?
00:08:34Because it looks like... So sorry. So sorry. Hello everyone and welcome to Vesta Technologies
00:08:46Adventure Retreat. I'm so thrilled to have you all here for what I hope will
00:08:55be a fun and rewarding weekend. We've booked the entire camp so we will have
00:08:59the place to ourselves. Now some of you I know well and some of you have already
00:09:05made your first impressions. I'd like to congratulate the winner of cat and mouse
00:09:12Matt Meyer from Vesta West. Now Matt may have won the first team building
00:09:20activity but there will be plenty more to challenge yourselves with this
00:09:25weekend. I'd like you to take your pen and paper and write down something about
00:09:29yourselves anonymously. Then we'll see if we can guess who it belongs to.
00:09:37This is how we get to know our neighbor. Now it can be something professional, personal
00:09:42and when you're done you can put... Thank You Maya. Look at you. Thank You Claire.
00:09:51Thank You Matt. Thank You Louis. I have traveled to Antarctica and I am fluent
00:10:08in four different languages. Only four? I'm going to guess Claire from Vesta South.
00:10:17It's five but my Japanese is only conversational. Konnichiwa. Wow that is impressive.
00:10:25Matt would you like to take a turn? Yes of course. Okay let's see. I am the best.
00:10:36Allegra is this yours? No I'm joking. Okay I helped refurbish old computers for low-income
00:10:44students and received a full-ride academic scholarship in return. I'm going to go with
00:10:53my man Louis from Vesta North Chicago right? No. Okay it looks like it's Maya from Manhattan.
00:11:03It's just Maya. Okay and you're specific. Yeah M-A-Y-A? I know how to spell. Oh do you?
00:11:16That's refreshing. All right. I like to wake up early and surf at sunrise before work.
00:11:32I'm gonna go with Malibu Matt. Nope. Right state, wrong tax bracket. I'm from Big Sur. Try again.
00:11:39Actually I'm the surfer. We get some decent swells on Lake Michigan in the summer. That means the
00:11:49last one is Matt. Maya would you like to read it? Sure. I volunteer fighting wildfires during the
00:12:01dry season on the Pacific Coast. So brave. You're all already so adventurous which is good because
00:12:13for the next three days we are going to be totally immersed in the great outdoors. Tackling challenges
00:12:20that will test our mental and physical limits. Now tomorrow morning we're all going to be loading
00:12:26into the raft and heading down Regal River. We'll be stopping for activities along the way and the
00:12:33adventure will culminate in a whitewater raft down breakneck bend. Nice. What's breakneck bend? Class
00:12:42four rapids, towering waves, pummeling falls. It's gonna be a wild ride and I can't wait to plunge
00:12:50right in. I'm sorry all this water talk is uh, will you excuse me? Whitewater rafting?
00:13:07Luggage. Luggage. Where did they put the luggage? Oh, yes.
00:13:14Marilyn, hi. Maya, are you there? Lycra called me and told me that you were late. Car service
00:13:36had trouble finding the place. It's in the mountains. In the mountains. Two hours of gravel road. I mean, the
00:13:44wheels almost didn't make it and neither did mine. So how's it going? Uh, well, turns out Allegra made a
00:13:51mistake asking me here. So, um, I was just about to leave. Everyone has way more experience in the outdoors.
00:13:58I mean, they've been to Antarctica. They fight wildfires. Lewis surfs in Chicago. I mean, they're
00:14:05the ones who should- Wait. The firefighter. Who is that? Matt Meyer? Zesta West? Why, you know him?
00:14:12He single-handedly fought off a wildfire that threatened to destroy Allegra's beach house. If
00:14:16anyone's getting the highlight reel contract, it's him. Well, he's very rude. Rude or not, he's her
00:14:22biggest hero and our biggest competition. It's impossible for me to impress Allegra under these
00:14:27circumstances. It's like Survivor and I'll be the first one voted off the island. You're gonna do
00:14:33great. You're the second hardest worker I know. Who's number one? Me. Now, do you want this promotion
00:14:40or not? Are you saying the executive position is mine if Allegra gives us highlight reel? Secure
00:14:48the project and you will have a much better job when you get back. Have fun. Okay.
00:14:55You looking for the guest lodges? Hi, Jim Burnett. I own the Whitewater Lodge. Oh, hi, Jim. Maya. Nice to
00:15:01meet you, Maya. I was just, uh... Oh, a little advice. If you take that way, it's just gonna go back to the
00:15:10same old, but if you take this way, it could be towards the greatest adventure of your life.
00:15:15And when you're handed something, don't take it the wrong way. Don't take it the wrong way.
00:15:20It could be towards the greatest adventure of your life.
00:15:23And when you're handed something like that, you should probably just take it.
00:15:28I must have been turned around. Yeah, of course. Yeah. Tell you what, if you ever get
00:15:33turned around on these parts again and need to find your way back, you can use one of these.
00:15:38Pocket watch? It's a compass. Right. Thanks. You're welcome. Tell you what, I will take this to your
00:15:45room. We have the finest beds inside of Regal River. Actually, the only beds inside of Regal River,
00:15:50unless, of course, you count the forest bed. What's a forest bed?
00:16:07Thank you, Maya. Very thoughtful. You're welcome.
00:16:11Man, look, when you catch the perfect wave, it is the best, I'm telling you. It is so, so good.
00:16:18Maya from Manhattan? Again? It's just Maya. Okay, just Maya. I know who you are. You're the
00:16:26reason the Time for Love dating app went viral last year. Actually, my entire team deserves
00:16:31credit for that. Okay, but the Times did the expose on you. I'm a New Yorker. No one in the city has
00:16:36Time for Love, so I suggested that the window of availability be shorter. Okay, so you thought
00:16:42two minutes to make a good impression was fair. I pitched one. Most of us can judge first impressions
00:16:49in an instant. So that's what you're doing. You're here trying to make a good impression on Allegra.
00:17:00Didn't anyone ever tell you that it's rude to wear a hat at dinner? Yeah, maybe in New York,
00:17:05but out West, we're a little more laid back. And besides, it's not just a hat. It's my lucky hat.
00:17:13Oh, yeah? Is that because it belonged to Babe Ruth? Because it looks about 100 years old.
00:17:16You know, it's smart to wear a hat in the woods. You don't want to get bitten by a tick, or worse.
00:17:22Don't you have a fire to put out or something? No, currently I'm trying to figure out why a
00:17:25city girl like you is at a wilderness retreat. Because I was invited. And I'm trying to bond
00:17:31with my co-workers and enjoy the great outdoors. That's wonderful. You have a bug on your shoulder.
00:17:39Okay, I am retiring early because we have to get up at dawn for a safety meeting before we head out.
00:17:47I will see you two in the morning. Good night.
00:17:53Whoa, whoa, where are you going? I thought the whole point was to bond with your co-workers.
00:17:56Maybe tomorrow.
00:18:03Hello? Any bugs? Any bears?
00:18:26I am here. I am here for you.
00:19:27I am here for you.
00:19:38Late again!
00:19:45Coffee!
00:20:08You're going to be wearing your safety equipment at all times making sure it fits properly and is
00:20:12secure. Extra hot, two milks, one sugar. Just how you like it. I had my coffee hours ago.
00:20:22I'll take one.
00:20:27Nice pants. Okay, now the Regal River runs east to west with the occasional eddy. Luckily for us,
00:20:34the snowpack is melting this time of year. Yay! The waters will be strong. If you ever hear me
00:20:41yell high side, that's a signal for everybody to move to where?
00:20:48Maya, yes? Uh, the front. Maybe. Matt? The high side. Correct, Matt. You win the prize. We all
00:20:58move to the high side to level the raft in a lasting effort to keep it from capsizing. If you
00:21:04are thrown from the raft, please don't panic. Just go into what we call the lawn chair position. Toes
00:21:10up, face up, go down the river feet first until we come over and pull you into the raft. Okay,
00:21:16we're going to be making several stops along the way where we'll set up camp.
00:21:20So, I promise you this is going to be both fun and challenging. So, as always, safety first.
00:21:27Yes, yes, yes. Good job. All right, let's rendezvous here at 0900. That'll give some
00:21:34of us a little extra time to get organized. Hey, uh, you need a hand?
00:21:50Everyone, I'd like your attention please. Let's have a moment of silence for what we're about to
00:21:56experience. So, I'd like you all to close your eyes and just listen. Listen for that rumble in
00:22:03the distance. Feel it and connect to it. That sound of raw untamed energy is the river at its
00:22:10most unforgiving. Take a deep breath and just try to remember this moment. As we navigate these
00:22:18rapids together, let that rumble guide you. It's not just water, it's a force that we'll conquer
00:22:24together, but always with respect for its power. Okay, let's load up. Do it.
00:22:40Laria, you all right? Yeah, I, uh, I think I'm gonna sit this one out. Wait, you're bailing?
00:22:49Uh, no, I'm not technically bailing. It's just that I would prefer to commune with nature
00:22:55peacefully rather than with big adrenaline rushes. Okay, totally fine, Maya. Hey, listen, there's,
00:23:04uh, there's a path along the river. Follow that. You'll only be about 20 minutes behind us. Now,
00:23:09don't mind the bears. Okay, yeah, I'll, uh, I'll see you there. Have fun with the rapids.
00:23:31Hey, Maya, how was the hike? Oh, it was, uh, quite peaceful, actually. You know there's no
00:23:37pressure to do any more rafting if you don't want to. There's plenty to do at the lodge,
00:23:40and I can have one of the guides walk you back if you like, anytime. Oh, uh, well,
00:23:44thanks, Jim. I'll keep that in mind. Oh, and, uh, we set up a change tent for you.
00:23:49Okay, everyone, gather round. Okay, so this beautiful piece of land will serve as our camp
00:23:58for the night. Each of you will have your own site, but you have to figure out which direction
00:24:03it's in. The directions of your sites are on your maps. Whoever finds theirs and sets up first, wins.
00:24:24Aha! Found it! Yes! Okay. Sorry, Maya, I think this one's mine.
00:24:31Uh, how do you know that? Oh, uh, my compass. I have one of those, too. Uh,
00:24:38how does this thing work? Oh, well, you hold it level in your hand like this. Yeah. Oh, north,
00:24:45south, east, west. Like our offices. Yeah, I guess it is, isn't it? That's my passion at Vesta, too.
00:24:53Directions? Locations. I pitched the precise location feature on Highlight Reel a couple
00:24:58months ago. That was your idea? That was me. That's a really exciting addition to the app.
00:25:04Congratulations. Well, thanks. Hey, let's see if we can find your real-world campsite, huh? Okay.
00:25:08Okay, so hold it level. Yeah. Yeah, there you go. And then see if it's nice.
00:25:12Nice.
00:25:23Great! Yeah! Now we're talking!
00:25:34Great.
00:25:35Okay.
00:25:40It's, uh, easier to lay the tent flat and then work the poles through it. Okay, I don't need
00:25:46help. Thank you. Yeah, yeah, no, looks like you have everything under control.
00:25:52Lots of tenting in Manhattan, I see. Someone already won? Looks like it.
00:26:05Ugh, gross!
00:26:08Well done. Thank you. Is that a doormat? It is. Took some fallen branches and just
00:26:13wove them together. Oh, Claire went for speed, but you definitely get the creativity award.
00:26:19Fine outdoorsman, indeed. Thank you. And, uh, don't forget to look up. What's that?
00:26:25Bear bin. Keeps your food away from hungry critters. Bears? Yep, finally put my Cub Scout
00:26:31skills to work. Bears. Visiting? Very clever. Don't worry, Maya. If you see a bear, you just
00:26:41make yourself as big as possible, slowly back away. No problem. Well, that just leaves one
00:26:48campsite for assessment. I was going for more of an outdoor experience. The stumps help keep
00:26:58most of it off the ground for dryness and more of a comfy sleep and away from the bugs.
00:27:07I think I was missing a few pieces to really complete the vision. Well, I'm not sure how
00:27:14much sleep you're gonna get, but I find it to be very inventive. Yes, perhaps you'll find
00:27:21more success in our next challenge. I can't wait. Personally, I like it.
00:27:37Wow, who built this? Myself and my team. It took three years of planning, two years to build.
00:27:43All part of the Whitewater Lodge experience. All right, everyone, time for your challenge.
00:27:47And this time, we're going to partner up. Claire and Lewis, Maya and Matt.
00:27:55This challenge will be all about teamwork and trust. You're going to be leading each other
00:28:00across the ropes blindfolded. Let's see what you got. Well, I think you should go first.
00:28:16No, no, I insist. Oh, come on, you'll be fine. I'll say steady until your foot's in place.
00:28:22And when your foot's in place, I'll say set. You put it down, step forward. Okay.
00:28:26Is there a problem up there? Uh, no, just enjoying the view. Great view. Kind of.
00:28:33And heel in place. Steady. Set. Good. That's it. Left foot up. Heel in place. Set. Everything okay?
00:28:44Oh yeah. I just, I forgot my circus shoes at home.
00:28:52You got it? Steady. Are we close? Yeah. Almost there. Okay. Steady. Set. That's it.
00:29:02Steady. Set. Look at you go. Oh yeah. Look at me. Steady. Set. Nice. Look, you're doing it.
00:29:10Steady. Set. You got it. Right foot up and you'll feel the platform. Good. There you go. There you
00:29:18go. You got it. Come on. Yes, it is. You are ready. Okay, here I go. Am I set? Uh, you're set.
00:29:30All right. Steady. Set. Oh, looking great. I'm really proud of you. Oh, I'm set. Good.
00:29:41Oh yeah, yeah. You got it. You got it. Okay. And whoa. Whoa. I thought you said set.
00:29:50I, I thought you were ready. Ah, he's okay. Yeah. I'm so sorry to keep you hanging.
00:29:58Oh good. You're making jokes. That's funny. I like that. I find this funny. You look great. Well,
00:30:04I'm gonna go get some help. One, two challenges in a row. Way to go, Claire. Anything to get the
00:30:15shot. I mean, look at this view. Wow. I've never seen so many shades of green. You're a great
00:30:23photographer. Thank you. I just love capturing nature in its raw, unfiltered beauty. You know,
00:30:29I was just thinking nature doesn't need a filter. That would look great on someone's highlight reel.
00:30:34Right? I am so grateful that Allegra took on my suggestion. I want our future to be one that
00:30:40celebrates the beauty in imperfections. As someone with a younger sister, I couldn't agree more.
00:30:47So filterless photos was your idea? Well, I got the inspiration when I was in Antarctica.
00:30:52Nature just doesn't make mistakes.
00:30:57Okay, so even though this weekend is all about bonding, I love a little friendly competition,
00:31:04so I've been keeping score. Yes, ma'am. Will there be a prize for the highest score?
00:31:11Prize? Like what? Uh, I don't know. Maybe something we would all want?
00:31:20Huh. Well, I'll have to see how many Vesta mugs we have in storage.
00:31:26Some of you have dominated the individual challenges. Claire.
00:31:32And on the high wire, I was able to see how well you work together. So this next set of challenges,
00:31:37you'll be working with your partner as a team. Jim did a really excellent job building this name
00:31:44board. So for every challenge you win, you'll move up the leaderboard. And for every challenge
00:31:51you lose, the negative points will move you down. Okay? You're going down.
00:32:01We're a team.
00:32:12Ah, I hope you all like hot dogs. We do. Here you go. So Allegra,
00:32:18tell us about how you started Vesta. Oh, you guys don't want to hear that story.
00:32:21Oh, come on. Oh, hey.
00:32:24Uh, this was just when social media was starting. So I wanted to meet new friends, not just
00:32:34friends, the ones I knew. Is that when you started schoolmates?
00:32:38That's how it happened. And now Vesta has dozens of apps over multiple platforms, but
00:32:45it all started with a desire to connect. It's really brilliant.
00:32:49How do you do it all? I can't tell you the last time I had a holiday.
00:32:55Except for this weekend. You're not working this weekend, right?
00:33:00Right. No, I'm not working this weekend. Anyway, enough about me. I want to know about you.
00:33:07The final challenge of the day is random words of kindness. Tell us traits about your
00:33:14partners that you admire. Actually, you know, I would like to start on this one, if I may.
00:33:19I think it's obvious to everybody that Allegra is intelligent, kind, funny, thoughtful, poised.
00:33:28I'm blushing. Just getting started here. I've also watched her be fearless,
00:33:36independent, and really eager to learn. So this is why I'm going to declare Allegra my partner
00:33:43for the rest of the adventure. I think it'd be a lot more fun for everyone if I
00:33:48was alongside. And ta-da!
00:33:58Well, thank you for this promotion. I hope to be a worthy partner.
00:34:06Moving along the circle, Maya, what do you have to say about your partner, Matt?
00:34:11Uh, Matt, he's, um, he's Matt. That's my name.
00:34:27Uh, what, what I mean by that is
00:34:34he's confident.
00:34:36He can make a fire.
00:34:39Well, thanks, Maya. That was heartfelt.
00:35:05Ah, bravo, bravo. Thank you, thank you.
00:35:26What a night, what a trip. It's only fitting that my last run down
00:35:32Weigel River would be my best.
00:35:34You mean your last run down Weigel River.
00:35:37Uh, well, it seems that tourists prefer warm sun and white sand over white water.
00:35:43So we're, uh, shutting down the lodge next month.
00:35:48But the season isn't over yet.
00:35:50I know, but, uh, I made the difficult decision to shut the lodge down a few months ago, and
00:35:56I at least wanted to accommodate your group.
00:36:00And I'm glad I did.
00:36:07Louis, that was fantastic. A lovely way to end the evening. Thank you.
00:36:11Yeah, Louis, that was incredible.
00:36:15I'm sorry, I'm gonna go to bed if I ever want to move up from last position. Um, good night.
00:36:21Good night, Maya.
00:36:22Good night.
00:36:23We should all go to bed. We have a big day tomorrow.
00:36:27Oh, okay. Hi, hi, I'm here, I'm here.
00:36:34Tell me Allegra loves you, you're besties, and she's giving you the contract.
00:36:38She's, uh, warming up to me.
00:36:40Warming up? Things should be boiling by now.
00:36:43You should be wearing those BFF necklaces and be going for pedicures.
00:36:47I could go for a pedicure.
00:36:50Maya.
00:36:51I'm sorry. It's just that all these other Vesta employees are, like, really impressive.
00:36:58I sure hope you have notes for me.
00:37:00Yeah, um.
00:37:02Okay, there's Louis. He's from Vesta North in Chicago. Nice guy. He's a great guitarist.
00:37:11And he designed the location tag for Highlight Reel.
00:37:14Location guy. Okay, so he won't get lost, but, oh, he wears glasses.
00:37:19Maybe they could go missing.
00:37:22You want me to hide his glasses?
00:37:23I'm just saying that maybe they could get misplaced.
00:37:26In the river.
00:37:30Uh, Claire is from, um, Houston. She's sweet and smart. Filterless photos was her idea.
00:37:39And she's a great photographer.
00:37:41Is she taking pictures?
00:37:42Yeah. Start taking pictures, Maya.
00:37:44I need you to be snapping selfies like you're getting paid to promote trees.
00:37:49Why?
00:37:49Claire is obviously assembling an arsenal, and I need you to do the same.
00:37:53Because when Allegra launches Highlight Reel, I need your pictures attached to the profile.
00:37:58Nature influencer. I got it.
00:38:01Um, and then there's Matt.
00:38:06You paused.
00:38:08I, I what?
00:38:10You said, and then there's Matt. And you paused, like you were lost in a daydream.
00:38:16No, I'm, I'm not daydreaming. It's just, it's, Matt's just, um.
00:38:21Handsome, charming, and a great dancer.
00:38:25Maya, I've seen him work his magic at many a holiday party. It's an act.
00:38:31Like a Venus flytrap. He sets a very safe and inviting atmosphere, and then...
00:38:37Don't fall for it. You're smarter than that.
00:38:41It's just that we're on the same team.
00:38:43It's just that we're on the same team.
00:38:45It would be hard to try to get rid of him and finish in first place.
00:38:50Competition too tough for you?
00:38:51No. Maybe it's not a competition. Maybe Allegra is just trying to...
00:38:58It is a competition, trust me. It's dog-eat-dog,
00:39:01and you better start eating or you're gonna be dinner.
00:39:13Ah, ain't no coffee like camping coffee. What's going on?
00:39:22I just, I can't seem to...
00:39:24Oh, it's all about the spark. Here you go.
00:39:29Thanks.
00:39:32Pretty amazing view, huh?
00:39:37Yeah.
00:39:37Yeah.
00:39:38Oh.
00:39:40Gotta take a picture.
00:39:44Good morning, guys. How'd you sleep?
00:39:46Like a baby.
00:39:48You know, I never understood that saying.
00:39:50I'm the oldest of five siblings, and let me tell you, babies do not like to sleep.
00:39:56Well then, I slept like a baby.
00:40:00Lots on my mind, you know, shutting down the lodge.
00:40:03Never really said it out loud until I told all of you last night.
00:40:06Do you know what you're gonna do instead?
00:40:09I've spent most of my days out here alone.
00:40:12Seen a lot of people come, a lot of people go.
00:40:16Well, sometimes I wonder if I've let life and love pass me by.
00:40:23Well, it's never too late to start something new.
00:40:27Look at me. Look at Allegra.
00:40:31She might seem more interested in eliminating analog instead of actual logs,
00:40:36but the retreat was her idea.
00:40:40You might be right.
00:40:42Sometimes our differences end up complementing each other the most.
00:40:45Well, you know what they say, opposites attract.
00:40:50Hey, you know what you should do?
00:40:52Bring Allegra her morning coffee.
00:40:56Really?
00:40:56Yeah, that's a good idea.
00:40:57Yeah.
00:40:59Okay.
00:41:00All right.
00:41:02Hey, Jim, that's a lot of eggs.
00:41:03You cooking breakfast for a giant?
00:41:05Mm-hmm.
00:41:06These eggs are not for scrambling.
00:41:26Nice demo, Matt.
00:41:29Endurance, precision, plain and simple.
00:41:33It's a race.
00:41:34Every time you hit the bullseye, 30 seconds will be taken off your final time.
00:41:40Now, balancing an egg on a spoon, you will take it from this central station
00:41:45to a target area further down the path where you must hit six targets.
00:41:50After a successful hit, return for another egg.
00:41:53You drop the egg, you come back.
00:41:55You miss the target, you come back.
00:41:58Are you ready?
00:42:00And go!
00:42:04Go, go, go, go, go, go, go!
00:42:06Go, go!
00:42:10So, what's with all the pictures you keep taking?
00:42:13I'm just making memories.
00:42:14Oh, yeah.
00:42:15I'm sure you can't wait to get home and relive this whole thing.
00:42:17What's that supposed to mean?
00:42:18It means whatever you're doing here, it's clearly not to enjoy the great outdoors.
00:42:23So whatever angle you're playing, I'm not gonna let you stop touching me again.
00:42:26I'm here for the great outdoors.
00:42:28I love wilderness!
00:42:34Oh, so close!
00:42:57Yes!
00:43:05Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!
00:43:06Yes!
00:43:12Yes!
00:43:14Yes!
00:43:16Yeah!
00:43:18Yes!
00:43:20Yes!
00:43:22Yes!
00:43:24Yes!
00:43:26Oh!
00:43:30God!
00:43:32Oh!
00:43:36You've got a little egg on your face.
00:43:38Literally or metaphorically?
00:43:40Literally.
00:43:42So, have you decided if you're gonna be going on with the raft?
00:43:48It's gonna be considerably rougher from here on out.
00:43:52We offer to walk back still stands.
00:43:54Oh, I'll be riding the waves till the very end.
00:43:58Good.
00:44:00But I may need two or three more of these.
00:44:04Ha, ha, ha.
00:44:06Uh.
00:44:16Big waterhead!
00:44:18You're gonna be fine.
00:44:20It's actually a lot of fun.
00:44:22Fun?
00:44:24Yeah, fun.
00:44:26No, fun is trying to find a seat on the subway during rush hour.
00:44:28This is not fun!
00:44:58Are you loving this?
00:45:00Woo!
00:45:06All right, stop!
00:45:10Woo-hoo-hoo!
00:45:12We did it!
00:45:14Woo!
00:45:16Yeah!
00:45:18One, two, three!
00:45:20Woo!
00:45:22See, I told you it was gonna be fun.
00:45:24It is!
00:45:26See, I told you it was gonna be fun.
00:45:28It was pretty fun.
00:45:30I saw you smiling.
00:45:32Yeah.
00:45:34Let's take a selfie.
00:45:42You too.
00:45:50Yeah, I thought I'd be further up the leaderboard.
00:45:54I hit three bullseyes.
00:45:56You also ate your partner.
00:45:58Right. That was unfortunate.
00:46:00Sorry, Maya.
00:46:02Well, I might be in last place,
00:46:04but I set up my tent,
00:46:06and that is a win for me.
00:46:08Well, that was quite the wild ride
00:46:10downriver today, huh?
00:46:12Yeah!
00:46:14So, our next challenge
00:46:16will be more of a reward.
00:46:18Something where you can sit back,
00:46:20relax,
00:46:22and enjoy the view.
00:46:24I'm just gonna
00:46:26straighten out my name.
00:46:30Excuse me.
00:46:32Oh, yeah.
00:46:34There it is.
00:46:36That's a lot better.
00:46:38You got this!
00:46:40Woo!
00:46:42This is gonna hold us
00:46:44all the way across?
00:46:46Yeah. Industrial-strength cables
00:46:48couldn't be safer.
00:46:50I think I would prefer
00:46:52being blindfolded.
00:47:02All right. Ready?
00:47:04No.
00:47:06Seriously! It's so easy!
00:47:08It really is!
00:47:10Thanks! I feel so much better now!
00:47:12Not helping, Louis!
00:47:14Let's go!
00:47:16You got this, right?
00:47:18On the count of three.
00:47:20One.
00:47:22Sit.
00:47:24Two.
00:47:38Was it so bad?
00:47:40Yeah!
00:47:42That was pretty great!
00:47:44Well done!
00:47:46Thank you!
00:47:48That was a close one!
00:47:50Wow.
00:47:52Pull up with your core!
00:47:58I don't know
00:48:00if I can do that one.
00:48:02Yeah.
00:48:04It does look
00:48:06a lot more physical
00:48:08than just sitting and screaming,
00:48:10but I think it's doable.
00:48:12I just right myself
00:48:15Okay.
00:48:17Sixth grade.
00:48:19We took this class trip to Coney Island,
00:48:21and our cart got stuck
00:48:23on the roller coaster.
00:48:25At the edge of the highest point.
00:48:27Six hours later,
00:48:29the fire department was able to get us down.
00:48:31Okay. Yeah.
00:48:33That sounds terrifying.
00:48:35But that is not this.
00:48:37You can do this.
00:48:39Hey, we.
00:48:41We can do this.
00:48:43I don't know.
00:48:45All right, look.
00:48:47We haven't won a challenge yet.
00:48:49This is our chance.
00:48:51I'll even take a video.
00:48:53I'm sure it'll impress whoever you're taking
00:48:55all these photos for.
00:48:57What do you say?
00:49:01I'm sorry.
00:49:03I can't.
00:49:13I'm sorry.
00:49:44Well,
00:49:46I've got some good news
00:49:48and some bad news.
00:49:50Bad news is we were burgled by a bear.
00:49:52Seems that somebody left their
00:49:54food in the tent, which attracted said bear.
00:49:56Now, nobody's to blame,
00:49:58but unfortunately the bear
00:50:00did make off with our provisions
00:50:02for dinner tonight.
00:50:04All right, so what's the good news?
00:50:06I guess the good news is
00:50:08tonight's dinner is you catch it,
00:50:10you eat it. Gourmet meal
00:50:12rewards from the bounty of the wild.
00:50:14So after we finish cleaning up this mess here,
00:50:16I'm going to teach you how to fish.
00:50:20Hey, Louis,
00:50:22I found your glasses.
00:50:24You left them on the platform.
00:50:26Thank you, Maya.
00:50:28I was worried there might be a bear out there wearing my glasses.
00:50:30I couldn't do anything without these.
00:50:34Welcome.
00:50:42Welcome.
00:50:48Hey,
00:50:50look at you getting the hang of it.
00:50:52Thanks.
00:50:54Hey, um,
00:50:56sorry about my panic attack.
00:50:58Uh-uh.
00:51:00You're not going to apologize?
00:51:02Besides,
00:51:04to tell you the truth,
00:51:06I didn't want to be up there anyway.
00:51:08Being completely honest,
00:51:10I'm a little afraid of heights.
00:51:12Yeah, don't tell anyone.
00:51:14Okay.
00:51:18Fish!
00:51:20Woo!
00:51:22That was fast. Okay, slow, slow.
00:51:24Reel it in. That's it, that's it.
00:51:26Give it some slack if it wants to run.
00:51:28You're doing great. Okay, surfacing.
00:51:30It's a...
00:51:32A branch.
00:51:34Yeah, it's a branch.
00:51:36Oh.
00:51:38But I wouldn't worry about it.
00:51:40You know, fishing's not for everybody.
00:51:42But there is another way you can contribute to dinner.
00:51:44Lucky for us, it's mushroom season
00:51:46and there should be plenty to harvest south side of that slope.
00:51:48Here's a little tip.
00:51:50Check out the base of Douglas firs.
00:51:52Remember what those look like?
00:51:54Like the ones who need a moisturizing mud mask.
00:51:56Uh...
00:52:00Yes.
00:52:02Matt, why don't you go with her
00:52:04and I'll be back before sundown.
00:52:06Bring the basket.
00:52:08And the log for dinner. Great.
00:52:14Hey.
00:52:16Did you find anything yet?
00:52:18Just these.
00:52:20Ah, it's a pine cone.
00:52:22And that is bark.
00:52:24Well, I just don't want to show up empty-handed.
00:52:28I bet you there's a lot of mushrooms over there.
00:52:30Uh-uh, no.
00:52:32No, come on. Look at all the Douglas firs.
00:52:34I would not cross this bridge
00:52:36if there's guaranteed treasure on the other side.
00:52:40You're going to be a great photo.
00:52:44No, that's your thing, not mine, okay?
00:52:46You want to come to Queens in the middle of the night?
00:52:48I'm your gal.
00:52:50But I am not stepping foot on this bridge.
00:52:52I don't like heights either.
00:52:54But we can do this.
00:52:56Together.
00:53:00What do you think?
00:53:02I can't believe I'm going to...
00:53:04That's it.
00:53:06Easy.
00:53:08Easy.
00:53:12It's actually
00:53:14way higher than I thought.
00:53:16Yeah? Oh, great, great, thanks.
00:53:18What, what, what, what, what is it?
00:53:20What is it?
00:53:22It's incredible.
00:53:28Wow.
00:53:32Wow.
00:53:42You see over there?
00:53:44Wow. That comes right up there.
00:53:50Are you sure we can eat these?
00:53:52Well, let's ask Jim.
00:53:54Who decided this, anyway?
00:53:56I mean, was it someone who just said,
00:53:58hey, these could kill you,
00:54:00or these would go
00:54:02great with steak.
00:54:04Whoa.
00:54:06Do you hear that?
00:54:08What is that?
00:54:10It sounds like a waterfall.
00:54:12Come on.
00:54:16That's it.
00:54:20All right.
00:54:24Wow.
00:54:26What do you think?
00:54:28I love it.
00:54:30Can't find this back home.
00:54:32I could stand here
00:54:34all day.
00:54:36Maya from Manhattan.
00:54:38Why do you keep calling me that?
00:54:40I don't know.
00:54:42You called me Malibu Matt.
00:54:44Thought it was some East Coast term of endearment thing.
00:54:46Like Jenny from the block.
00:54:48I mean, I could stop
00:54:50if it bothers you.
00:54:52I don't know.
00:54:54If it bothers you.
00:54:56Nah, it's okay.
00:54:58I kind of like it.
00:55:02I can't believe tomorrow's our last day.
00:55:04I know.
00:55:06I don't want it to end.
00:55:10Hey, do you want me to take a photo of you?
00:55:12I mean, you haven't taken one all day.
00:55:14Huh.
00:55:16I guess I've just been too busy enjoying myself.
00:55:20Besides, some things
00:55:22have to be kept where they are.
00:55:26I completely agree.
00:55:38As much as I love our little oasis,
00:55:40we should probably get back.
00:55:42Yeah.
00:55:44Back to our cutthroat corporate retreat
00:55:46with death-defying challenges.
00:55:48Woo!
00:55:52Uh, is it just me,
00:55:54or does it feel like
00:55:56we're going in the wrong direction?
00:55:58No, it's the same path
00:56:00we took right before we crossed the bridge.
00:56:02Are you sure?
00:56:04Because I think we took a couple wrong turns back there.
00:56:06What? Wrong turn?
00:56:08No, no.
00:56:10It's possible this is the scenic route.
00:56:14Or...
00:56:16it's possible we're lost.
00:56:18Yeah.
00:56:20I think we might be lost.
00:56:32Okay, okay.
00:56:34If I remember anything from Scouts,
00:56:36it's if you are lost,
00:56:38stay where you are until help comes.
00:56:40Or we could stop saying
00:56:42we're lost.
00:56:44Yes.
00:56:46Yeah.
00:56:48Exploring alternative routes.
00:56:50By going the wrong direction.
00:56:52Yeah!
00:56:54Yeah.
00:56:56Direction.
00:56:58Wait, you have a compass?
00:57:00Yeah!
00:57:02North. Okay, Jim said
00:57:04that the mushrooms were on the south-facing slope.
00:57:06Okay.
00:57:08The Regal River runs east to west,
00:57:10which means...
00:57:12Follow me!
00:57:14Okay, and you're sure it's this way?
00:57:16Yes, absolutely.
00:57:18I mean, it's gotta be this way, right?
00:57:20Well, that's besides the point.
00:57:36We're back.
00:57:38You did it!
00:57:40I am impressed.
00:57:42I am too.
00:57:44Thanks.
00:57:46Hey!
00:57:48Glad to see you two back.
00:57:50We thought you got lost.
00:57:52Lost...
00:57:54in the moment.
00:57:58Found some mushrooms.
00:58:00Oh yeah, I got a basket full of tricks.
00:58:02Cedar bark.
00:58:04I wasn't sure if it was...
00:58:06Perfect.
00:58:08See? It's perfect.
00:58:10It's perfect.
00:58:12Okay.
00:58:14For our next challenge,
00:58:16we're going to be calling on our
00:58:18culinary skills.
00:58:20Louis and Claire caught not one,
00:58:22but two steelhead salmon,
00:58:24so we each get to prepare a filet.
00:58:26Woo!
00:58:28Allegra stores some violets, wild greens,
00:58:30and chicken of the woods.
00:58:32And we do actually have some pantry items
00:58:34that are bare left behind.
00:58:36Oh, and Maya and Matt scavenged some really great goodies
00:58:38for us to try, so...
00:58:40Yeah!
00:58:42Ready?
00:58:44Let's do it!
00:58:50The greatest thing I ever saw
00:58:52Walking through my open door
00:58:54Was you
00:58:56If what I say is true
00:58:58Every time you caught my eye
00:59:00You'd be there right on my mind
00:59:02Just you
00:59:06And only you
00:59:08In a crowded room
00:59:12This world is built for two
00:59:16Look into my eyes
00:59:20Early in the morning
00:59:22Till the light runs dry
00:59:26I won't waste your time
00:59:30For you and I
00:59:32To the heart of adventure
00:59:34Cheers!
00:59:36Cheers!
00:59:40Mmm.
00:59:44I'd like to take a moment
00:59:46to acknowledge this land
00:59:50and this food
00:59:52and everyone here.
00:59:56I've been thinking, you know,
00:59:58we're all a little bit like the river.
01:00:00There's so much more
01:00:02going on in us
01:00:04than is seen on the surface.
01:00:06And like the waters,
01:00:08it's okay to sometimes
01:00:10just go with the flow.
01:00:12And sometimes
01:00:14life can get a little bit rough,
01:00:16like headed straight
01:00:18toward a rock rough.
01:00:20But,
01:00:22if we can hold on to the people
01:00:24closest to us,
01:00:26then calmer waters
01:00:28are just around the corner.
01:00:30Beautiful.
01:00:32So, since we know each other
01:00:34a little bit better now,
01:00:36maybe we could have another round
01:00:38of random words of kindness?
01:00:40Oh, yeah.
01:00:42Can I go first?
01:00:44Alright.
01:00:46What can I say about my
01:00:48teammate, Maya from Manhattan?
01:00:50Smart, yes.
01:00:52Stylish,
01:00:54of course.
01:00:56Independent, absolutely.
01:00:58But what I've had the honor
01:01:00of witnessing this weekend is
01:01:02it's actually so much more.
01:01:04She's courageous,
01:01:06tenacious,
01:01:08challenges you
01:01:10to be your very best.
01:01:12And if it wasn't for Maya,
01:01:14well, I might be
01:01:16a few spots higher on the leaderboard,
01:01:18but
01:01:20I'd also be completely
01:01:22lost without her.
01:01:30Yes!
01:01:40Must really love our company
01:01:42to volunteer for dish duty.
01:01:44You know what?
01:01:46Company's the best part.
01:01:48Oh!
01:01:50That's the best part.
01:01:52See? Right? A little char on the top.
01:01:54Oh, I don't know.
01:01:56Shooting stars.
01:01:58The biggest meteor shower
01:02:00of the year happens tonight.
01:02:02Kicks off around 11.
01:02:04And the best way to watch it is with someone special.
01:02:06In my expert opinion.
01:02:10In your expert opinion, huh?
01:02:14That's what I'll be doing tonight.
01:02:16Summer breeze
01:02:18Our homes
01:02:20lit up
01:02:22It makes me bold
01:02:26Does someone need to put out a fire?
01:02:36Would you step?
01:02:38Can I take my blindfold off yet?
01:02:40Nope, not yet.
01:02:42Okay, if you're having me go on the high wires again,
01:02:44I'm going to be sore on the station.
01:02:46Okay, stop. We're here.
01:02:50Right?
01:02:52Not bad, right?
01:02:54Apparently, the year's best
01:02:56meteor shower happens tonight.
01:02:58So,
01:03:00with any luck,
01:03:02we'll have front row seats
01:03:04to Mother Nature's
01:03:06big show.
01:03:10Wow.
01:03:12The only twinkles I see
01:03:14from my apartment are the lights
01:03:16from the Chrysler building.
01:03:18I had no idea I was
01:03:20missing out on this.
01:03:22Well, I'm not
01:03:24100% sure we're going to see any.
01:03:26I saw one!
01:03:30Go on and make a wish.
01:03:32I wish
01:03:34that my baby sister
01:03:36gets into the college of her dreams
01:03:38and
01:03:40a full ride scholarship.
01:03:42I love it.
01:03:44Except I don't think you're supposed to say it out loud.
01:03:46Ah, those are outdated rules.
01:03:48I want the whole world
01:03:50to hear me.
01:03:52So, you said you wanted five siblings?
01:03:54Including me.
01:03:56But I'm the oldest.
01:03:58So, in my family, I'm the first to do
01:04:00a lot of things.
01:04:02Like what?
01:04:04I'm the first to graduate college.
01:04:06Nice.
01:04:08The first to own my own apartment.
01:04:12And the first to
01:04:14not be married and have kids by 25.
01:04:18Is that
01:04:20something you want?
01:04:22You know, eventually?
01:04:24Absolutely.
01:04:26Yeah, I just know that kids
01:04:28are a lot of work.
01:04:30And I love my work.
01:04:32So, there'll be a few challenges.
01:04:34I think
01:04:36one day
01:04:38you're gonna make a great mom.
01:04:40Besides, you're like
01:04:42a professional problem solver, so.
01:04:44Who told you that?
01:04:46Um...
01:04:48I might have
01:04:50cyberstalked you. Not in a creepy way.
01:04:52Just, you know, for research.
01:04:54You did?
01:04:56Uh-huh.
01:04:58Why?
01:05:00I don't know.
01:05:02I just had this
01:05:04silly idea that you were trying to make me look bad.
01:05:06You know, that we were
01:05:08competing for something other than points on a leaderboard.
01:05:10I know. It's crazy.
01:05:12But I just know now
01:05:14that you're really driven.
01:05:16You're competing with yourself.
01:05:20Matt.
01:05:22There's one. See it?
01:05:26Did you make a wish?
01:05:32Yep.
01:05:38Ah, what a way to spend a night.
01:05:42So, what about you?
01:05:44Any siblings?
01:05:46Nope. Just me and my mom.
01:05:52Actually, it's
01:05:54just me now.
01:05:56Yeah, my, uh...
01:05:58My mom died four years ago.
01:06:00I'm so sorry.
01:06:02Don't be.
01:06:04For twenty-eight
01:06:06years, I was the world's luckiest
01:06:08son.
01:06:10Every season,
01:06:12she'd take me to the Sluggers' home opener.
01:06:14Oh.
01:06:16Your hat. Yep.
01:06:18My hat.
01:06:20It reminds me of simpler times.
01:06:26Oh, nice.
01:06:28Okay.
01:06:32Make a wish.
01:06:38So, what is it?
01:06:40This one I'm keeping for myself.
01:06:42Ooh.
01:06:44Okay.
01:06:52I wish I could go back in time
01:06:54and relive this whole weekend all over again.
01:06:56I would pay good money for that.
01:06:58Or just the chance to come
01:07:00back here. Yeah, I did a search for the White
01:07:02Water Lodge, and aside from
01:07:04a couple reviews, Jim has almost no web
01:07:06presence. No wonder his bookings are low.
01:07:08Really? Yeah. I feel like the
01:07:10whole world should see this spectacular
01:07:12place. I wonder if there's a way
01:07:14we could get the word out. Well, we only have
01:07:16one day left.
01:07:18Plus, I don't know if I'm going to participate in
01:07:20something that has the word breakneck in it.
01:07:22Yeah, well,
01:07:24your bookings are about to get real.
01:07:26Wait.
01:07:30Highlight real.
01:07:32Real people.
01:07:34Real places.
01:07:36Real life.
01:07:38What if we add a real-time
01:07:40element to it? We launch
01:07:42the app with a live stream of
01:07:44the raft through breakneck bend.
01:07:46You know, a group of techies taking on a Class IV
01:07:48Rapids, I mean, could
01:07:50go viral. Right? Yeah.
01:07:52If we geotag the lodge
01:07:54with Lewis' feature, I mean,
01:07:56the lodge would get massive
01:07:58exposure. Should we pitch this?
01:08:00We should pitch this.
01:08:02Okay. Okay. Well, tomorrow morning
01:08:04we'll talk to Allegra, together.
01:08:08Well, I'll see you first thing in the morning.
01:08:16Well...
01:08:18Good night.
01:08:20Good night.
01:08:36Good night, Marilyn.
01:08:38It's actually good morning on this
01:08:40coast, Maya. That's early even
01:08:42for you. Well, I wanted to...
01:08:44Come in and make sure that the windows in your corner
01:08:46office are nice and clean. My
01:08:48corner office? You sound surprised.
01:08:50I expected you to tell me that you'd
01:08:52secured the project, so I've been prepping for your
01:08:54promotion. Exciting
01:08:56developments about that.
01:08:58Oh, tell me more.
01:09:00I'm pitching the launch tomorrow
01:09:02in conjunction with our last day here.
01:09:04Adding a real-time element
01:09:06to the app and live streaming
01:09:08the raft through breakneck bend.
01:09:10I think the times will pick it up
01:09:12and it could go viral.
01:09:14Maya, that's genius.
01:09:16Well, it's not just me. Matt and I
01:09:18came up with the idea.
01:09:20So it's a collaboration
01:09:22between Vesta East and West.
01:09:24Oh. Yeah.
01:09:26Turns out we make
01:09:28a really good team.
01:09:30And I think
01:09:32Allegra will agree that the power
01:09:34of partnership is the right move
01:09:36for Vesta. So you haven't told
01:09:38Allegra yet? No, not yet.
01:09:40But we will first thing in the morning.
01:09:42Speaking of which,
01:09:44that is going to come quickly, so
01:09:46I'm going to go.
01:09:48Good night, Marilyn.
01:10:12...
01:10:38Good morning!
01:10:42So this is what you really think of me?
01:10:44Matt, I...
01:10:46Teacher's pet.
01:10:48Unpleasant.
01:10:50More confident
01:10:52in his ideas than he should be.
01:10:54No, I didn't mean...
01:10:56I thought that, but I...
01:10:58And all the stuff about Lewis and Claire?
01:11:00I knew there had to be something.
01:11:02This was too good to be true.
01:11:04This whole time, we were supporting you,
01:11:06sharing with you, and you were what?
01:11:08Taking notes?
01:11:10To make yourself look better? To use against us?
01:11:12For what?
01:11:16I knew I should never have let myself trust you.
01:11:18No.
01:11:20Good morning!
01:11:22And an especially
01:11:24good morning to you, Maya Avera.
01:11:26Oh, don't be so humble.
01:11:28I've been on the phone with Marilyn all morning.
01:11:30Your idea
01:11:32to launch Highlight Reel as a live
01:11:34stream during our breakneck band
01:11:36raft? And Geotag the
01:11:38lodge? I can't wait to tell Jim.
01:11:40It's a brilliant
01:11:42idea, Maya. I'm impressed.
01:11:44Yeah.
01:11:46Great idea, Maya.
01:11:48Congratulations.
01:11:50No, Matt, I...
01:11:52I've
01:11:54already sent press releases to all the major
01:11:56tech publications. I'll be
01:11:58sending you an app prototype.
01:12:00You are going to create
01:12:02Highlight Reel's very first account, and
01:12:04when it launches, everyone
01:12:06will be watching. Well done,
01:12:08Maya. You've certainly shown us who
01:12:10you are and what you're capable of.
01:12:36Hey, sis!
01:12:46How's it going? Everything's good.
01:12:48Hopefully great.
01:12:50What is that?
01:12:52I think it's my application decision.
01:12:54Well,
01:12:56open it!
01:12:58Now remember,
01:13:00it's all about the student, not
01:13:02the school. Any college
01:13:04would be lucky to... Oh, wow.
01:13:06What?
01:13:08What is it? It says,
01:13:10based on my current application
01:13:12and GPA,
01:13:14I qualify for early admissions
01:13:16with financial assistance.
01:13:18Yes! Yes!
01:13:20I'm going to NYU!
01:13:22You're crying.
01:13:24I'm just
01:13:26so happy for you.
01:13:28You were crying before I opened the letter.
01:13:30What's going on over there?
01:13:32I, uh...
01:13:36I just got myself in a mess
01:13:38and I don't know how to get myself out.
01:13:42It seems like whatever choice I make,
01:13:44I'm going to lose
01:13:46something really important.
01:13:48Well,
01:13:50what would you tell me to do?
01:13:54Okay, I'm going to call
01:13:56Mom and Dad, but thank you for everything
01:13:58and good luck.
01:14:00Love you.
01:14:10Oh, there you are!
01:14:12Where's your horse?
01:14:14My horse?
01:14:16Hey, you're my knight in shining armor.
01:14:18Saving the day by saving the lodge?
01:14:20You alright?
01:14:22Yeah, I, uh...
01:14:24just got some really great news.
01:14:26Oh, so that's your
01:14:28happy face, huh?
01:14:30Well, uh,
01:14:32you know, maybe we could
01:14:34turn this into a great day.
01:14:36We could start by celebrating
01:14:38with a bottle of champagne at the fire
01:14:40after our raft. You are coming to the final raft, right?
01:14:42I am.
01:14:44I'm live streaming from the very
01:14:46first Highlight Reel account.
01:14:48Yep, live streaming. Yeah, Allegra kept saying the word
01:14:50live streaming and I have to admit,
01:14:52I kept nodding like I knew what she was talking about.
01:14:54It just means that I'm recording
01:14:56live footage that's being watched
01:14:58in real time from people all
01:15:00over the world. Wait a second, so this whole

01:16:46I don't think you're the teacher's pet!
01:16:48And I don't think that you're unpleasant!
01:16:50And actually, I think
01:16:52you're the opposite!
01:16:54Let's hold that thought, alright? Let's focus
01:16:56on getting you to shore. That's it.
01:16:58Easy. Okay.
01:17:02Matt, look, I never
01:17:04wanted to launch our pitch plan without you.
01:17:06But you did. No, my boss,
01:17:08Marilyn, did. Look, she's
01:17:10the reason I was keeping tabs on
01:17:12the team. Look, I have to admit,
01:17:14we were trying to get a jump start on the contract,
01:17:16but the truth is, I think
01:17:18everyone here is incredible. You're
01:17:20incredible, and there's so much more
01:17:22to success than a job title
01:17:24on a resume or a corner office.
01:17:26You helped me
01:17:28realize just how strong I
01:17:30can be, and most importantly, how strong
01:17:32we are together.
01:17:36Matt, will you please forgive me?
01:17:42Yeah.
01:17:44Look, I know we've only known each other for
01:17:46a few days, but this
01:17:48connection we have,
01:17:50it feels real and strong,
01:17:52and it was the last thing I was
01:17:54expecting out of this retreat.
01:17:56It's been a dream come true. Yeah.
01:17:58Yeah, it has.
01:18:02So,
01:18:04do you think we lost our jobs?
01:18:06Uh, well, we did
01:18:08just bail on the group.
01:18:10Well, technically, we didn't
01:18:12bail. Yeah.
01:18:14Yeah, I mean, technically
01:18:16we were just taking
01:18:18a moment to strengthen our
01:18:20bond as teammates.
01:18:22Exactly. Yeah.
01:18:24Besides, even if we are now
01:18:26unemployed,
01:18:28I have a feeling together,
01:18:30you and I can get through anything.
01:18:34You thinking what
01:18:36I'm thinking?
01:18:38We can still do this. Yeah, we can.
01:18:40Hey!
01:18:42Ready for two more? Sure!
01:18:44Hop in!
01:18:52Okay, breakneck bend coming up.
01:18:54You ready?
01:18:56Got this!
01:19:04That was exhilarating!
01:19:06Kind of dangerous.
01:19:08Keep moving around breakneck bend.
01:19:12Whoa!
01:19:22Whoa!
01:19:28Oh my gosh!
01:19:30It's okay.

01:19:34That's it! You got it!
01:19:36That's it! Pull!
01:19:38Just pull! Pull!
01:19:40Yeah!
01:19:42Yeah!
01:19:44They made it!
01:19:48Yeah!
01:19:50Yeah!
01:20:10You did it! You did it!
01:20:12We did it.

01:20:34Alright.
01:20:46Woo!
01:20:48Woo!
01:20:54It doesn't get much more real than that.
01:20:58I thought you'd be furious with me.
01:21:00Furious?
01:21:02You're one smart cookie, Ms. Alvaro.
01:21:04Highlight reel is soaring
01:21:06in the app store.
01:21:08And Jim's booking inquiries are going through the roof.
01:21:10That's true.
01:21:12But how? How?
01:21:14That magnificent Riverside confessional
01:21:16followed by a death-defying feat
01:21:18of nature, that's how.
01:21:20I didn't even mean to do that.
01:21:22I must have pressed record by accident.
01:21:24That's exactly why it went viral.
01:21:26You can't make these internet moments happen.
01:21:28They have to happen for real, real
01:21:30people, real places.
01:21:32Real life.
01:21:34One question about your
01:21:36Highlight Reel account, Eminem.
01:21:38What does it stand for?
01:21:40Well, the launch was Matt and I's
01:21:42idea. So I
01:21:44used our initials for the account.
01:21:46Well, the fact that you're already working together is good news
01:21:48to me. Vesta is opening up
01:21:50two new international offices.
01:21:52Claire and Louis
01:21:54have already accepted offers to head up
01:21:56Tokyo. We are so
01:21:58excited. It's literally my
01:22:00dream. Congrats, guys.
01:22:02You too. Not only
01:22:04can you survive as a team, you can
01:22:06thrive. How do you
01:22:08feel about partnering to run
01:22:10Paris? What?
01:22:12That would be great!
01:22:16That would be fun. It could be fun.
01:22:18Maybe. We'll deal with the
01:22:20paperwork later. For now, let's go celebrate
01:22:22at the Lodge.
01:22:28Paris? Oui, oui.
01:22:30Okay, I might need to work on my French.
01:22:32Oh, and the kissing part.
01:22:34That,
01:22:36I think we should practice.
01:22:42People, let's go.
01:22:44Make it unforgettable.
