00:00Out of all of the paintings which are on exhibition tonight, probably the one that has the most
00:04personal significance for me would be this painting titled Suitcase.
00:10And really it's autobiographical in nature, it sort of encapsulates my past, my present
00:17and perhaps alludes to my future.
00:21In the painting it's really me cutting the hedge and I'm at my home in Lake Heights.
00:26I'm assuming a few people know that I'm in Lake Heights now and it's from my garage studio.
00:33The suitcase which sits in the shadows is the one suitcase that I used for 35 years
00:40to travel the world shooting TV commercials and over in the other shadow is a little T-square
00:47which is the T-square that my dad used to measure and cut glass because he was a glazier.
00:52So really it tells the story of my life in a very simple way and I really just love the
00:59simplicity and the way that the magical light just penetrates the darkness to highlight the story.
