07:40Assalam-o-Alaikum.
07:42Today, this is a magnificent event,
07:48in which Google's contribution on a global level and in Pakistan is very commendable.
08:05Here, two or three presentations have been given.
08:10And the entrepreneurs and owners of a gaming district have achieved great success.
08:24After some failures.
08:27And this is what life is all about.
08:30You travel.
08:33You face difficulties.
08:36You face the blind spots of life.
08:41And finally, like this young man, you are satisfied with success.
08:48This is what life is all about.
08:51And I think that in Pakistan,
08:56the contribution of our young generation and the contribution of the girls,
09:06I think that to move it forward,
09:09we as the government of Pakistan and the government of the province,
09:16we will have to use our best resources for their education and training and empowerment.
09:26The things that have been said here,
09:31without repeating them,
09:33I would simply ask this,
09:35put up this equation.
09:37Mr. President and of course,
09:40our very talented, youthful entrepreneurs sitting here and other experts.
09:48By the way, we are going to have our new secretary,
09:53who has been selected through our process, a very transparent process.
09:59Could you please stand up so we can all applaud you?
10:02Why don't you come here and give your very brief introduction?
10:11I believe you are from Oxford.
10:14Very brief introduction.
10:20Thank you, Prime Minister.
10:24This was a bit unexpected, but as I have heard about him,
10:29that he puts people to task and then makes sure that they deliver.
10:32And inshallah, I will not let him down.
10:34So my name is Zarrar.
10:36I have joined as of today as Secretary for the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication.
10:41I have been given by the Honorable Minister and the Prime Minister three major roles.
10:47The first role is to make sure that as being from the private sector,
10:52I need to make sure that we understand that how the potential that everybody talks about
10:58is going to be catalyzed into an action plan is going to drive results.
11:03And the number two thing that we have to make sure that Pakistan is facing an economic challenge,
11:09but what we see is that a big potential that we have is digitization of our economy
11:14and you saw 2.6 trillion number over there.
11:16And I believe that is a conservative number.
11:18This number cannot be achieved unless and until we make sure that our activities are set up.
11:24And the third thing that I think we really have to go ahead is that IT industry cannot thrive
11:30unless there is a foundation of connectivity and telecommunication.
11:33I think on the mobile connectivity side, we are quite good,
11:36but we have some work to do on the fixed connectivity.
11:38And inshallah, under the leadership of the Honorable Minister and the Prime Minister,
11:43we are going to deliver.
11:45So about me, I don't want to talk about a lot, but if I was given my 30 seconds,
11:49at least I can share the plan that has been given to me.
12:25to touch a figure of $25 billion in the next five years.
12:30And I was hugely, you know, comfortable by looking at this presentation
12:37that one of the figure was that we could touch $6 billion in 2030 on an annual basis.
12:47Now $6 billion multiplied by 5 is $30 billion, which is $5 billion more than my own estimate.
12:56This is the equation.
12:59I know nothing else.
13:02Give me mathematics and give me way forward and the pathway,
13:07how to achieve this figure in the next five years.
13:12Two, how to offer modern skills to our youth,
13:20those skills which can give them productive jobs instantly,
13:25skills and take them out of Pakistan and contribute in Gulf states and other places,
13:32and, of course, within, in Pakistan.
13:36Three, how to make our governance totally paperless and totally digitized,
13:49whether it's we are already on this task in a big way,
13:53but I'm just wanting to further sensitize myself and all those who are relevant in this field,
14:02how to make our governance digitized so that we eradicate massive corruption,
14:11evasion of federal receipts, and then, of course, utilization of our resources
14:19in the best possible fashion for the people of Pakistan.
14:24This is the menu of today.
14:26We have heard wonderful speeches, had wonderful presentations,
14:30and, of course, how to promote SMEs in this country, small and medium enterprises,
14:38the policy framework, freelancers, and I think this is our lowest hanging fruit
14:48other than agriculture and mines and minerals.
14:52I'd be very grateful if you could come forward with a plan,
14:56along with, I would invite all of you, and if you are ready with a plan,
15:02we'll sit down tomorrow, day after, three days, four days after,
15:06and thrash out this wave power for Pakistan's bright future.
