00:00First of all, it's worth noting that Volodymyr Zelenskyy remains broadly popular in Ukraine,
00:05above 60% his rating, way down from the 95% that there were in spring 2022,
00:12but I think a lot of Ukrainians are still very grateful to the way he stood up then
00:16and the communication, you know, blitz that he did around the world,
00:20garnering support for the country.
00:22But certainly his support is waning, and a recent opinion poll did show
00:26that more than half of Ukrainians are worried about the way that more and more power seems
00:31to be concentrated in the president's office,
00:33and particularly in the hands of his chief of staff, Andriy Yermak.
00:37I've seen various, you know, bitter, sometimes sarcastic comments on social media.
00:43It doesn't seem as though people are reacting to this, you know,
00:46full three cheers for Zelenskyy and we really need this reboot.
00:50I think a lot of Ukrainians are wondering why the government is spending so much time and energy
00:55on this kind of political tinkering and changing of horses in midstream,
01:00if you like, rather than focusing on the very, very serious situation
01:04that there is both on the eastern front in Donbass
01:06and with the need to defend Ukrainian cities further away from the front line,
01:10from the strikes that there are every night.
01:12In fact, I think that a lot of Ukrainians this morning aren't thinking about politics at all,
01:16because we had yet another sleepless night.
01:18In Kiev and across much of the country, the air alert was on all night
01:22because drones were flying.
01:24I haven't heard any reports of any major damage.
01:27I had air defence systems trying to shoot down the drones at various intervals throughout the night.
01:32And, you know, a lot of people this morning are worrying more about whether or not to
01:36send their kids to school if the alert isn't lifted than what's going to happen in Parliament.
