00:00Scarborough's Central Tramway has been operating since 1881 and is still owned

00:06by the company that first registered it. The iconic Cliffside Tramway has been

00:12operating for many years but it wasn't electrified until 1920 and it's

00:19undergone surprisingly few technological upgrades since before World War Two.

00:25People can catch the funicular from Scarborough's South Bay at the bottom up to

00:32where the Grand Hotel stands. Almost half a million people use this tramway every
