00:16Our history as pearl traders gave us the opportunity to travel and become immersed in diverse cultures,
00:22environments, and sources of inspiration.
00:52When I first came to Bahrain in 1952, I opened the first jewellery shop.
01:01It was one of the first jewellery shops and watches at that time.
01:08Then my brother Jihad and I came and started working in 1977.
01:14We opened the first shop on Tajjar Street.
01:18Then we opened another shop in Dubai and in Saudi Arabia.
01:24And we have continued to this day.
01:29At Al Zayn, everything starts from the inspiration.
01:33And us as a family get inspired from our rich Arabian heritage, Arabian geometry, and nature here in the Middle East.
01:45After that, the intensive research process begins.
01:49And that leads to a creative brief, which is then translated and presented to our design house,
01:57who start sketching with pen and paper.
02:01The Arab Deco collection is unique to Al Zayn.
02:04It's a beautiful fusion of the Art Deco era and Arabesque patterns,
02:09inspired by the sleek Art Deco style and the rich geometry of Arabian architecture.
02:16Each piece is a testament to the fusion of East and West.
02:24The Golden Age of Islam came into full bloom.
02:27Arabesque, one of the aspects of Islamic art, was widely used as a form of decoration.
02:34The way in which these forms are being formatted, from the first dot that touches the paper to the complete circle that it forms,
02:41and all the other shapes that fit within it, is based upon the Islamic view of creation.
02:48We take pride in the fact that everything is done in-house, from jewelry design to manufacturing.
02:53At every step and stage of the design process, our designs are presented to our creative committee,
02:59who consists of our creative team and family members.
03:04And we're very strict to have this process followed,
03:07so that the blood and the inspiration from the family is carried through in the design process.
03:18Our journey has taken us from pearl traders to renowned jewelry designers, manufacturers and retailers.
03:28From our humble beginnings, our family has been disrupting the approach of jewelry making in the region.
03:34From how we work with pearls to the creation of our unique 21-carat hue, which took years to perfect,
03:41we continue to be committed to pushing boundaries in design, innovation and manufacturing within our shores and beyond.
