00:00Brad Caleb Williams becomes the first rookie quarterback to be a captain for the franchise.
00:06He was one of eight players named. Given what he means to this team,
00:10how surprised were you? What was your reaction and what does it say about the commitment to him?
00:15I would have been surprised if he wasn't named a captain. I mean, the commitment to him,
00:20goodness, he hadn't been here a week. They named him the starter. And then when you watch how he's
00:25gone about his business since day one, when you listen to people talk about the work he puts in,
00:32the attention to detail, the questions that he, you know, he, I think he's got
00:41to a pretty good degree, an understanding of what he doesn't know. And when you can get a
00:47quarterback who kind of knows what he doesn't know, I think that's valuable, right? And some
00:54of the stuff you'll have to learn on the job, but the way he's gone about his business, the way you
01:00see him interact with teammates, it would have been a big surprise if he wasn't named a captain.
01:08And I mean, let's be real. When a team has full season captains, and we've seen this stuff where
01:16you'll have a rotating group or a weekly group or whatever, but when the team's got full season
01:21captains, if the quarterback isn't one of them, 98% of the time,
01:28just write that team off because they don't have a quarterback, right?
