Normally I’m a giddy kipper before a day out at the seaside but this time I felt apprehensive about the journey ahead of us - a three hour double decker Coastliner bus ride to Scarborough.
Four children, a pushchair and I would be off on this adventure.

00:00I decided to go to Scarborough on the Yorkshire coastliner because it costs two quid each
00:04and also it is three hours nine minutes which is shorter than to Whitby which is three hours 15.
00:13I'm not sure how long my bladder can hold it might get from Leeds to York maximum but we shall see
00:19we're going to try and experience the Yorkshire coastliner whilst the two pound bus fares last.
00:26First stop a bus from Wakey to Leeds bus station now just about to jump on board the coastliner
00:33but hopefully we've got time for Lou first because there isn't a Lou on bus
00:38um but we have stopped at Greg's so he's probably spent more than his bus fare.
00:43Lovely bus drivers let me dash to the Lou before he sets off in a few minutes so I'm off bus now.
00:50Wow fortunately I made it back just in the nick of time thanks to a very patient bus driver
00:59especially with our clan but what's even better is they've got charging ports and wi-fi on the bus
01:06so happy kids. Ah so good so I've just realised you can go Eden Camp, Malton, Flamingo Land,
01:13Pickering, Goatland, Thornton, Liddale all on different coastliners the buses we're just about
01:19to stop at York Racecourse another option for those of us who don't know but not everyone's
01:26keen on these two pound fares. Why do you catch the Yorkshire coastliner?
01:33What do you think about it with the two pound fares?
01:39Apparently the buses can get busy which some people don't like but most people I did speak to
01:45are really in favour of the two pound fares especially those journeying to the seaside.
01:52Toilet break at Malton because they changed drivers people are feeling a bit travel sick
01:59but we're all good we're back on the bus now aren't we?
02:04And honestly for me it was nice to see all of Yorkshire whizz by I thought this is the perfect
02:11opportunity for tourists visiting Yorkshire but it is a long ride especially with kids and keeping
02:20them occupied and do remember there is no toilet on the bus although luckily we had very nice bus
02:28drivers who did let us jump out at the appropriate stops but after three hours 20 minutes in the end
02:37we made it to Scarborough's North Bay. Sophie Mayline-May-Lynn reporting from Scarborough.
