00:00While surveying the site of some ancient ruins, two young archaeologists, Derek and Margo,
00:22and their nomad friend, Mokey, find themselves trapped and sinking in a whirling pool of sand.
00:37And when the dust settles, they stare up in awe at a vast chamber filled with giant relics and artifacts from another civilization.
00:48And there, at the far end of the cavern, a door with a strange inscription.
00:53All who enter these portals pass through time.
01:18So God said to Noah, I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence and corruption.
01:37Because of this, I am going to destroy both them and the earth.
01:44Thus, because wickedness abounded everywhere, mankind had condemned itself to extinction.
01:52In all the land, only Noah and his family were righteous.
01:57So the Lord commanded him to build an ark that they alone would survive.
02:05Hear that?
02:07Oh, it's just woodpeckers.
02:09Sounds like somebody's building something.
02:11Let's go see.
02:13Coming, Mokey?
02:15Got a great dream going.
02:17A giant breakfast, pancakes and eggs and...
02:20But maybe they're building a house.
02:22Big deal.
02:23But a house means a kitchen, and a kitchen means food.
02:27Food?
02:28Oh, what are we waiting for?
02:31Wow, it sure is a biggie.
02:33But what kind of a house is that?
02:36It's round and upside down.
02:39It's not a house, it's a boat.
02:42Don't you realize what we're seeing?
02:44That's Noah building the ark.
02:47You're right.
02:48It is the ark.
02:50Come on, let's go.
02:52Let's go.
02:54Noah's building the ark.
02:57You're right.
02:58It is the ark.
03:00Come on, we've got to get down there.
03:02It's all the excitement.
03:04What's an ark?
03:06Push, everybody.
03:08Have no fear.
03:10Mokey is here.
03:12Are you all right?
03:14That was close.
03:16These young people kept those boards from falling on me.
03:20I'm all right.
03:22I'm all right.
03:24I'm all right.
03:26I'm all right.
03:28I'm all right.
03:30I'm all right.
03:32I'm all right.
03:34These young people kept those boards from falling on me.
03:37A rock rolled down and hit them.
03:39Probably with some help.
03:42My wife and I thank you.
03:44That was the least we could do.
03:46I'm just glad we happened to be here.
03:48But why would anybody do that?
03:50Our neighbors think we are fools to build the ark.
03:53But there are so few of you.
03:55Yes, only eight of us.
03:57My wife and I and our three sons Ham, Shem and Japheth and their wives.
04:01But it is the Lord's will.
04:03This is Margo and this is Derek and this is Mokey.
04:06And if we can help, we'd like to.
04:08You are welcome.
04:10But I must warn you, the work will be hard.
04:12I'm allergic to hard work.
04:14We have little time before huge floods shall sweep in and drown the earth.
04:19Floods? Let's get to work.
04:21The sooner the better.
04:33Hmm.
05:04Hmm?
05:10Oh, there they are.
05:12Who?
05:13Our good neighbors to make their usual jokes.
05:16One day they'll go too far.
05:19Well, well, well.
05:21What do you suppose this is?
05:23Awfully big. Must be a barn.
05:25Right, a barn.
05:27And Noah is the biggest donkey of them all.
05:31Go on about your business and leave us to ours.
05:33There he is.
05:35All bow down to the king of sawdust.
05:42Please, sire, we're only poor ignorant farmers.
05:45Tell us again whence you're going to float that barn on, the dew?
05:52God hath warned, the mighty rain shall come.
05:55But if they do, you won't need a boat, Noah.
05:58Your head's hollow enough to keep you afloat.
06:02They can't talk that way to you.
06:04Japheth, they're leaving.
06:06But they will return to jeer again.
06:09Give them not your anger, but your prayers, my son.
06:12For they are all doomed to a watery grave.
06:15A watery grave?
06:21I didn't realize it was going to be so huge.
06:24Big as an ocean liner.
06:26And one little thing, an ocean.
06:29But you heard Noah, the rains are coming.
06:31Sure gonna take a whole lot of water to reach way up here in the mountains.
06:35There will be a lot of water.
06:37More rain and water than the earth has ever known.
06:40But suppose it doesn't?
06:42You'll hear from that bunch of comedians.
06:44Yeah, your friendly neighborhood hecklers.
06:49What are you doing here?
06:51Come to annoy us like the others?
06:53Hey, I'm your friend, remember?
06:56I think it's wonderful what you boys are doing for your father.
06:59Just wonderful.
07:01Here, let me help.
07:02What are you after?
07:04Me? I'm not after anything.
07:06But something does bother me.
07:09What have you done for yourselves and your wives?
07:14You've all been so busy helping Noah.
07:17You haven't been able to do anything for yourselves.
07:20You have no land, no cattle, no chance to raise your families.
07:25It just doesn't seem fair to you young people.
07:28But the Ark is important.
07:30Yes, yes.
07:32But suppose, just suppose, the rains don't come.
07:36You, your wives, you'll have nothing.
07:40We obey father.
07:42I have an idea.
07:44This is good lumber.
07:46I can arrange to trade it for land and cattle.
07:49Trade the lumber?
07:51Think about it.
07:52Let me know tomorrow.
07:54Your wives are entitled to something.
07:57The answer is no.
07:58You're making a mistake.
08:00You're being pig-headed.
08:02I hope you and your crazy father break your necks on that stupid boat.
08:06You're fools, all of you.
08:10That's the last plank, father.
08:12The honor is yours.
08:15This great Ark, commanded by God, built by men and women,
08:20I now pronounce complete.
08:31One final task.
08:33We must now gather and bring aboard a pair of every living creature on Earth.
08:44Whoa!
09:14Whoa!
09:36Two elephants?
09:38Those were elephants, weren't they?
09:40Two deer.
09:41Oh, isn't that doe adorable?
09:43I'll come down later and make certain you have a nice stateroom.
09:46Two dogs?
09:48Oh, two fleas.
10:13Ah, one hump.
10:23Oh, two humps.
10:25Make sure all the animals are bended down comfortably,
10:29because the great rains and floods come tomorrow.
10:32Tomorrow?
10:34That's what he said.
10:35Tomorrow.
10:37Come on, come on, you're gonna miss the boat.
10:40That's it.
10:43Hurry, hurry.
10:53Oh, come on.
11:07Hey, look, she likes me.
11:09I'll have to think of a name for her.
11:11How about, hmm, Doe Loris?
11:15What's the matter, Derek?
11:17Did you look outside this morning?
11:19Not a cloud in the sky.
11:21And this is the day Noah said the gigantic rains would come.
11:24Maybe it'll start this afternoon.
11:26I hope so.
11:27For Noah's sake, but for everyone else out there, I don't know.
11:32That door's sure heavy.
11:34We'll have to figure some way to close it.
11:36What's the weather like?
11:38My eyes aren't what they used to be.
11:41Well...
11:43The horizon is dark with rain clouds, is it not?
11:47There are no clouds, Father.
11:49Not one?
11:51Father, even if the rains don't come,
11:54we still have all this fine lumber.
11:58The rains will come.
12:03Glad you waited, Noah.
12:05We were afraid you might have floated off during the night
12:08before we could say goodbye.
12:11Come on in, Noah.
12:13The water's great.
12:15If you really think water's coming up here,
12:17you're drunker than I am.
12:19Hey, Noah, how many other monkeys you got in that zoo?
12:24Pay no heed.
12:25The rains will come today.
12:27Of this I am certain.
12:29They must come.
12:30He heard God's promise.
12:32But suppose, in all good faith,
12:34he didn't quite hear correctly.
12:36He's been so outraged by the wickedness in the village,
12:39perhaps he only heard what he wanted to hear.
12:41No, I believe him.
12:45Where are your rain clouds, Noah?
12:47I think you got it all wrong.
12:50Your God isn't gonna drown us.
12:52He's gonna kill us with sunburn.
12:57That big wooden box full of animals
12:59would make a great barbecue.
13:01Let's set it on fire.
13:03They wouldn't.
13:05Don't be so sure.
13:07There's a door. It's closing.
13:13It's the hand of God.
13:15Let's go drag them out of there.
13:17We can't. They're closing the door.
13:22We'll never be able to break through that.
13:24Well, we can still set the whole thing on fire.
13:27Set it on fire. On fire!
13:31On fire!
14:02Rain. Just like he said.
14:04It's nothing. Just a passing shower.
14:07It's nothing, you hear me? Nothing.
14:09Father, I have to admit one thing.
14:11I had my moments of doubt.
14:14I know, my son.
14:16It was a test of faith for all of us, even me.
14:19How long will the storm last?
14:2140 days and 40 nights.
14:24Go now. Comfort the animals.
14:27We're about to endure the mightiest tempest
14:29of all creation.
14:34Where are you going?
14:36The fun's just beginning.
14:38We'll grab that crazy old fool and...
14:41Noah was right. We're all going to drown.
14:44It's just a passing shower.
14:46Come back. All of you, come back.
14:49It's nothing. Noah's God is a sham, you hear me?
14:52A sham!
15:00Now there's nothing to be afraid of.
15:04Oh, thanks. I needed that.
15:11It's only thunder.
15:30They're not laughing at us now.
15:33Be not vindictive, my son.
15:35True, they themselves were the cause of their own destruction,
15:38but I grieve for them and pray for their souls.
16:00The waves are reaching us.
16:02I'll alert everyone to be ready.
16:06All right, here we go.
16:08Oh, I wish I could remember something.
16:10Besides, now I lay me down to sleep.
16:30Hey, I need help!
16:32I'm running out of fingers!
16:36Oh, don't laugh, King Kong.
16:38You better come help unless you're a good swimmer.
16:42All right, your turn, big fella.
16:48Oh, no!
16:50Oh, no!
16:52Oh, no!
16:54Oh, no!
16:56Your turn, big fella.
17:03Oh, I knew there was some reason for that horn.
17:07Look, the doe.
17:09Derek, she's hurt her leg.
17:11We'll need a splint. I'll get a board and some bandages.
17:14Hurry, she's frightened.
17:16Don't be afraid. I've got you.
17:18Nice work, fellows.
17:20Remind me to give you some extra chow tonight
17:23if we last that long.
17:26That should do it.
17:27Tell me, where do you keep the life rafts?
17:29What are life rafts?
17:31I was afraid you'd say that.
17:46There's still some leaks, Japeth.
17:48The water is up to the floorboards back there.
17:50We've started bailing it out.
17:52Derek's got a couple of friends helping.
17:57What do you think?
17:59I think her leg will heal, thanks to you.
18:02Oh, if this storm would only stop,
18:04she'd have a better chance of not banging it on something.
18:08Well, it can't last much longer.
18:11Where's little Moke? I haven't seen him around.
18:14Last I saw, he was taking some boards into the supply room.
18:18He's probably making some shelves.
18:20They'll be thankful somebody had the sense to make a life raft.
18:25Mokey, wake up!
18:28Mom, the life raft!
18:30Oh, I mean, what's up? Where are we?
18:33There's something strange going on. Feel it?
18:36I don't feel anything.
18:38That's what's so strange.
18:42Hey! Hey, everybody!
18:44It's Mokey!
18:46Mokey!
18:48Mokey!
18:50Mokey!
18:53Hey! Hey, everybody! The storm's over!
18:56A total calm. What a beautiful sight.
18:59It could be even more beautiful.
19:01How?
19:03If I could just see one tiny little place to land.
19:06She'll have a better chance now that it's calm.
19:09But I guess we really won't know if it's mended until we reach land.
19:13Then we'll see if she can get around on it.
19:16When do you think that'll be?
19:19We'll have to ask Noah.
19:21Our food supply is getting low.
19:23How much longer before we land?
19:25How much longer will it be, Father?
19:27I... I don't know.
19:29But didn't God tell you?
19:31No. No, we must wait.
19:35I am not going to keep running up that ladder to look out the window no more.
19:40Good.
19:41I've been running up there every two seconds.
19:43That's over. Finished.
19:45You've got great willpower.
19:47After all, looking for land won't make it show up any quicker, right?
19:50The watchpot never boils.
19:52I'll just do my work and never even think of running up that ladder.
19:56Need more water here.
19:58Of course. You could go up and take a look.
20:00Wouldn't be fair to you.
20:04Nothing.
20:05I tried to tell you.
20:09Do not despair.
20:11Surely the good Lord would not have saved us from the storm.
20:14For us to perish in the calm.
20:16I shall release this raven.
20:20If he does not return, that will mean he found a place to roost.
20:24And that there is land out there.
20:41Oh, I never thought that I could miss land so much.
20:44I even keep hoping I'll find sand in my spinach.
20:47I'm sure there's land out there.
20:49You'll see. That raven will never come back.
20:52Oh, well.
20:54Back to the spinach.
21:00Perhaps the dove you released today will find land.
21:03Perhaps. But the dove we sent last week found none.
21:07And our animal food is running low.
21:09We may have to take measures.
21:11You mean we may have to choose between those to feed and those to let die?
21:15Possibly.
21:18I suppose the elephants would have to go first. They consume so much.
21:21No, not the elephants.
21:23They are such wondrous creatures.
21:25They are all wondrous.
21:36Perhaps it would be more humane to slaughter the animals quickly now
21:40rather than having them starve.
21:42It would be less painful.
21:44I can't believe the good Lord intended for even one of his beloved creatures to perish.
21:48I'll get started.
21:50I suppose the larger animals first.
21:55She brought an olive twig.
21:57A fresh olive twig.
22:00God's sign. There is land.
22:03And hope. I must show this to the others.
22:07The animals all have you to thank, little dove.
22:15It's been a whole week since the dove brought back that olive branch.
22:19And yesterday the dove didn't come back at all.
22:22So there must be land.
22:25The dove must have fallen into the sea
22:27for there's certainly nothing out there but water.
22:32Receive our thanks, O Lord, for your many blessings.
22:35If we are worthy, we pray you will soon reveal to us your clean new land.
22:40And if we are judged worthy to walk upon the earth again
22:43we vow to serve you faithfully. Amen.
23:03We've come to rest on the land again, Noah.
23:06God has found us worthy.
23:13Amen.
23:36I have to admire you, Mokey.
23:38You didn't let that big storm frighten you one bit.
23:42Well, I just take them as they come.
23:44And the raft. Who was that for?
23:47I just figured I'd have it handy.
23:50You know, just in case any of you panicked.
23:53Oh, yes. Of course.
23:56Here she comes.
24:01She's walking.
24:02Come on, now. You can do better than that.
24:06That's it. That's the way to go.
24:11Go on, now. You'll be fine.
24:13And have lots of little ones just as frisky as you are.
24:20Sure you don't need anything else?
24:22We'll be fine.
24:24Thanks for everything, Shem.
24:26Our thanks to you. Goodbye, Mokey. Goodbye, all.
24:30Goodbye.
24:32Let us now give thanks to the Lord
24:34who reigns over the earth and the seas
24:37and who has delivered us.
24:39Noah, look.
24:44A sign. Praise the Lord.
24:47And then God set his rainbow in the sky, saying,
24:51This sign is my promise that never again
24:54will there be a flood to destroy us.
24:57And then God set his rainbow in the sky, saying,
25:00This sign is my promise that never again
25:03will there be a flood to destroy men from earth.
25:06So whenever the rainbow appears in the heavens above,
25:09you will see it and remember this everlasting covenant
25:13between me and all living creatures.
