00:00Being a mermaid is literally like living my childhood fantasy every single day.
00:12It's just bringing a bit of magic into people's lives.
00:21So I knew I wanted to help our oceans and I thought that coming out with these seashell-shaped rounds
00:26were like the perfect way to really address these issues
00:30and help not contribute more waste into our waters
00:33by providing a product that actually other mermaids and performers can use too.
00:37Because us as performers, we have to put makeup on all the time.
00:48Hi, my name is Cassia, also known as Sea of Shells,
00:51and I am a professional mermaid and lifestyle blogger
00:54and I came out with Seabay.
01:00I literally wanted to be a mermaid my whole life.
01:03So I've actually always been connected and tied to the ocean.
01:07It's just been something I've always had in me.
01:10I guess it runs in my blood.
01:12Seabay Beauty was really a passion project.
01:16I had realized that, you know, as a performer and a makeup artist,
01:20I was going through a lot of disposable, single-use makeup wipes.
01:24And I wanted to come out with a product that wasn't part of the problem,
01:28but more of the solution to help our oceans keep them clean of disposable, single-use waste.
01:38I think my product is really important because when I was doing my research towards the design,
01:43I couldn't find wipes that ticked all my boxes.
01:46And by that I mean, like, there was no wipe that was reusable, biodegradable and cute-looking all in one.
01:54It was like you had to kind of sacrifice one for the other,
01:57and I didn't want to sacrifice and I don't think people should as well.
02:00So why not create something that's also beautiful to look at and have on your shelf,
02:05but also reusable and biodegradable.
02:08So that's why I came out with wipes and adorable seashell shapes,
02:11just to remind people of the cause that they're actually helping.
02:15I want people to be able to use reusable and eco-friendly products.
02:19For me, it's important to have it accessible to everyone.
02:24You know, there was a lot of research that went into the design, the packaging.
02:28Like, I really wanted, you know, the boxes to be made of recyclable materials.
02:33There's a lot of challenges when it comes to creating your own product.
02:38And, you know, me being a new person in this kind of industry and field,
02:42I had to kind of pick up and learn a lot as I went along.
02:46If you do want to bring more awareness to the causes that are out there,
02:51supporting our oceans and waters and marine life,
02:54now is the time, really, because there are so many things happening that we need to take a stand for.
02:59Like, we need to make waves of change together.
