00:00Officers say both of them were pulling on the child.
00:03The mother prevailed, but he allegedly took off through the store swinging the machete at employees who tried to stop him.
00:09Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the Top 20 Craziest Things to Happen at Walmart.
00:16The Jetta had dark windows and a sunshade over the dashboard, which made it difficult for anyone to notice there was a corpse inside.
00:24Many people take on multiple jobs to make ends meet, and Walmart may be the perfect way to earn a couple of extra bucks.
00:33Though, maybe stick to cashiering and not solicitation, especially if it's sexual.
00:39In 2013, 22-year-old Foster Bills decided to use his store's bathroom in some unsavory ways.
00:46After police conducted an undercover investigation, they discovered that Bills had made arrangements with clients via Craigslist.
00:53He'd meet them in the Walmart bathroom and, well, let's just say it was an employee discount that led to him being arrested.
01:03Sometimes theft happens, and sometimes theft is hilariously odd.
01:08The things that people steal don't always make sense, as is the case with this 18-year-old who decided that he really, really needed a gallon of milk.
01:17Or two. Or 26?
01:26This sounds like a dare gone horribly wrong, especially since the milk thief was dressed as a cow that decided to go all Robin Hood and hand out what he'd stolen.
01:36You can't decide what's weirder, the fact that he committed the crime or the fact that he didn't get caught on the spot.
01:55When it's finally time to replace that old wallet, we've all secretly hoped that we'd find a random stash of money inside our new one.
02:02Usually, we just end up with one of those placeholder cards for where our driver's license will go, but in 2009, a Walmart customer in Massachusetts found something else.
02:12We're not sure how we'd react to finding one human tooth, let alone ten of them, but police confirmed that, yes, the new wallet had human teeth inside.
02:26Next time you buy a wallet, be sure to check all the compartments.
02:29And employees, triple-check your inventory before it goes out on the floor.
02:45To be fair, this may not seem that odd if you've ever gone to Walmart on Black Friday.
02:50Customers tend to lose their collective minds and leave you whispering a quick prayer to a higher power.
02:56That's not the case with this particular 2013 story, though, as a woman's ex-husband and son truly believed that she'd been possessed.
03:04They arranged a meeting in the parking lot of their local Walmart and locked the woman in the car with two priests who threw, quote, sacred oil on her to exorcise her, quote, demons.
03:20We know exes can be hard to deal with, but this may have taken things a bit too far.
03:27No, Jenny, it's not you, okay?
03:37What's odder than a cow-suited robbery? A birthday-suited one.
03:41In 2012, a Walmart in Pennsylvania was introduced to Verdon Lamont Taylor, who'd completely stripped down in the parking lot and waltzed into the store for...socks?
03:52We're not sure if that was his end goal, as he'd removed his outside with the rest of his clothing, but when he got to the customer service counter,
03:59he reached into a bag, grabbed a pair of socks, took them out of the package, and put them on before heading to the back of the store.
04:06Maybe Walmart just has really great socks.
04:09Hey! Hey, that's store property! Take those off!
04:12Oh, there's something so nice about putting on a brand new pair of socks.
04:17Some straight-like-you-giant-stick-up-his-ass-all-of-a-sudden-at-age-what, 60, he's-just-gonna-break-back?
04:23Not that we condone people trying to imitate Walter White, but if you're gonna do it, maybe don't do it in public.
04:29And yes, having the tools in your backpack and bringing them into the bathroom counts as doing it in public.
04:34And this Kentucky Walmart isn't even the only hotspot for a would-be mobile meth lab.
04:39This is a family store!
04:41Jennifer Von Culp attempted to use a soda bottle while she was in a Missouri Walmart in 2012.
04:47She at least tried to be discreet and hide the bottle in her purse, but the same cannot be said for Elizabeth Alicia Greta Halfmoon,
04:55who tried to mix meth right on the shelves in the back of the store.
05:05Ah!
05:08While some parents name their kids after the place they were born, it may be best to stick with a more common name in this case.
05:14Walmart probably isn't the most ideal place to give birth, but that's exactly what happened to a 16-year-old girl back in 2013.
05:22After delivering her new baby boy in the Cannon City Walmart bathroom, things went from awkward to panic-inducing since the baby wasn't breathing.
05:31Having a baby on the floor is dirty and there's so many people here.
05:35Fortunately, one of the employees was quick to give the newborn CPR.
05:39The miracle of life brought to you by your local Colorado Walmart.
05:43Save money, live better.
05:45Hey! There she is! That's the Walmart mommy!
05:50This definitely wasn't the holiday chaos that shoppers had in mind.
05:54At a Walmart in South Carolina, customers got to bear witness to Avery Blandon attacking his wife Lillia Blandon while she was working at a bank inside the store in 2011.
06:04Avery repeatedly stabbed his wife, who, tragically, died from her injuries in the hospital.
06:10Avery tried to flee the scene, but crashed his SUV and was then apprehended by authorities.
06:16In a bizarre twist, the store didn't close during the investigation and customers were able to continue shopping, despite the vicious crime that had taken place.
06:29There's nothing wrong with wanting to try out your latest purchase, especially if it'll lead to some sexy times.
06:35We should put extra emphasis on the word purchase and stress the importance of trying it out at home.
06:41After stealing some KY jelly from a Walmart in Kansas in 2012, Julianne Call and Tina Janakin decided to...try it.
06:49In the store. In the middle of the store.
06:51We understand feeling passionate about your partner of choice, but could you maybe wait until you get home?
07:00In the summer of 2013, a woman was texting in the aisle at a Newcastle, Delaware Walmart when 22-year-old Frank Short Jr. threw something onto her leg.
07:09When the woman realized what the white substance was, she sought help from employees.
07:14Short Jr. was arrested and first claimed to have sneezed on the poor woman, then to have spat on her.
07:20But he eventually admitted the truth, which was even more disgusting.
07:24He reportedly described himself as a, quote, loner who, quote, got a thrill out of such an act.
07:29It wasn't the first woman he'd done this to either, having done the same at a Kmart. Gross.
07:39Sometimes, a love connection happens while shopping for those low, low prices.
07:43Such was the case for Wayne Brandenburg, who fell for a cashier at a Walmart in North Carolina.
07:48We understand the romantic undertones of having a wedding where you first met, but you may get a few odd looks if your dream venue puts you in the middle of a superstore.
07:56But hey, who are we to stop Cupid's arrow?
07:59Especially when other couples have followed suit.
08:10Remember, Walmart helps you save money and live better.
08:18Ah, the majestic goose, always walking across the road without a care in the world.
08:23Much like any other animal, you stop and let it trot away.
08:26You don't hit it with your car, and you most certainly do not whip out a bow and arrow to kill it.
08:31Unless you're Canadian, well, at least this Canadian, who took a stand against the fearsome bird in a Canadian Walmart parking lot.
08:38Word of advice, unless you're hunting for survival like some kind of revamped Tomb Raider,
08:43maybe leave the bow and arrow in the trunk, or save it for any upcoming invasions.
08:53You may remember the couple who decided to test out a bottle of lube,
08:57you know, to make sure it worked the way they wanted before they committed to purchasing it.
09:01And no, we don't mean for your car.
09:04That's not exactly what 19-year-old Shawn Johnson did while shopping at a Florida Walmart.
09:08For one, he didn't use any kind of lubrication for his sexual act.
09:12And two, it was with a horse.
09:20No, no, not the horse from the legendary Mr. Hand story.
09:23Do not Google that.
09:25We mean a stuffed horse.
09:27At least it's safer than an actual horse.
09:29And at least he went to the betting department.
09:34This is definitely mischievous.
09:36This sh** does not happen at Target.
09:40To be honest, this could be its own category.
09:42Just type the words Walmart fire into your YouTube search bar and scroll on down.
09:47There's the fire caught on film in Durango, Colorado,
09:50where you can hear someone calling for help while people keep shopping.
09:54Help!
09:56Whoa, those...
09:58Excuse me.
10:00There's the fire in San Leandro, California,
10:02where someone poured lighter fluid over the Halloween costumes and set them on fire.
10:06And, of course, the firework display fire for those who can't wait to go outside and celebrate the 4th of July.
10:12Don't think that the fires only happen inside the store,
10:15as the parking lot has been known to have a fire or two.
10:18Not even ambulances are safe.
10:23Is there anything worse than someone taking the parking spot you were trying to get into?
10:27They see you waiting, blinker on to indicate your intentions,
10:31but nope, they gotta be a jerk and swipe the space before you can pull in.
10:35Hey! I'm moving in there!
10:37No, don't! Hey, hey, hey!
10:39No, get back in your car!
10:41Hey! Hey! Hey, asshole!
10:43Well, 77-year-old Florida resident Evelyn Denise decided to do something about it.
10:49No one was gonna get away with taking her spot,
10:51so she tried to run the man over,
10:54after which he held on to the hood of her car for dear life.
10:57Now, the two differ on how he ended up on the hood, though.
11:00Kohler says he was trying to stop her from leaving because she keyed his van.
11:04We suppose that's better than shooting at the spot thief,
11:07which is exactly what happened at another Florida Walmart,
11:10when a dispute over a space led to two people being shot in 2012.
11:14Crazy? What are you doing?
11:16Hey! Hey! You're stealing my space!
11:19George, wait! You don't know who this guy is.
11:21People kill for a parking space in this city.
11:26We have to ask,
11:27when did Walmart become the place to explore your sexual kinks?
11:30We promise, no stuffed animals this time.
11:33Imagine being in a North Carolina Walmart,
11:35minding your own business,
11:36when a man asks you to try on shoes for him.
11:39Don't worry, he says.
11:40I'm a podiatry student.
11:42We're not quite sure why that encourages him to watch strangers try on shoes,
11:46but it's not creepy arrest-worthy news.
11:48Yet.
11:49That moment comes when he sucks on your toes.
11:52Brown struck up a conversation with a woman at the Walmart,
11:55then convinced her to try on several pairs of shoes.
11:59That's when Brown allegedly took the victim's foot
12:01and began sucking on her toe.
12:03Needless to say, 31-year-old Michael Brown was arrested
12:06and learned that maybe, just maybe,
12:08he should suck toes in the privacy of his own home.
12:11Oh, and he's not actually a podiatry student.
12:19Number four.
12:20Child thief?
12:21Don't you just hate it when people mistake you
12:23for being a kidnapper instead of a father?
12:25Such was the case for a man named Joseph,
12:27while he was out with his three daughters
12:29at a Virginia Walmart.
12:30After returning home,
12:31the police arrived to make sure that the girls were actually his children.
12:35I was dumbfounded,
12:36because I sat there a minute and I was like,
12:37did he just ask us if these were our kids?
12:40According to Walmart,
12:42a customer felt that he didn't fit with his children
12:44because he's white and his daughters are mixed race.
12:47And I said, what do you mean by they don't fit?
12:51And I was trying to get her to say it.
12:54And she goes, well, they just don't match up.
12:56He and his wife were quick to verify that the children were theirs,
12:59with the police even asking one of the girls
13:01if the two were actually their parents.
13:03The phrase, that escalated quickly,
13:05has never been so accurate.
13:07Number three.
13:08Three months later, a dead body.
13:10This isn't the first time a death has occurred at Walmart.
13:14Stay tuned for the rest of our list.
13:16However, this may be the first time
13:18the victim wasn't discovered for a long period of time.
13:21Lauren Moss was last seen leaving a rehab center
13:24before horrified employees of a Walmart
13:26out in Salinas, California,
13:28discovered her dead body inside of a Volkswagen Jetta.
13:31The Jetta had dark windows and a sunshade over the dashboard,
13:34which made it difficult for anyone to notice
13:36there was a corpse inside.
13:38The kicker?
13:39Surveillance footage revealed
13:40that the car had remained in the same spot
13:42for almost three months,
13:44leading authorities to believe
13:45that she'd been dead in the car the whole time.
13:48Number two.
13:49Employee killed during Stampede.
13:51Everyone knows the horror stories
13:53associated with Black Friday.
13:55The lines, and of course, the unruly customers.
14:01The chances of the morning rush being calm and orderly
14:03are slim to none.
14:05But being so overzealous that they trample a man to death?
14:08That was the case at a Walmart in Long Island
14:10one Black Friday morning.
14:12Not patient enough to wait for the doors to open,
14:14shoppers literally smashed through them,
14:17despite workers' attempts to keep them at bay.
14:27The crowd trampled over 34-year-old Jim Tye Damore
14:30and anyone else who got in their way,
14:32leading to a number of injuries.
14:34Damore was pronounced dead a mere hour after the chaos.

14:58This time, customers had every right to assume
15:00that an attempted child kidnapping was in progress.
15:03After a man failed to snatch a child away from a mother
15:05in the deli aisle of a Louisiana Walmart in 2018,
15:09a store security worker gave chase,
15:11only to discover that the man was armed.
15:14Officers say both of them were pulling on the child.
15:17The mother prevailed,
15:18but he allegedly took off through the store
15:20swinging the machete at employees who tried to stop him.
15:23You know, it's not every day that a machete
15:25is swung around with reckless abandon.
15:27It's also not every day that the attacker
15:29tries to take another child from a different woman.
15:32Fortunately, the child was strapped into the shopping cart
15:34and the man could not get the kid loose.
15:37With the combined efforts of the protective mother,
15:39store employee, and an off-duty cop,
15:41the man was taken into custody.
15:43His charges include two counts of kidnapping of a child.
15:46Have you ever had an unbelievable experience in a Walmart?
15:49Let us know in the comments.
15:51Strangest story I think I've ever heard
15:53and one I really don't even want to read,
15:55but I have to.
15:57That's where a man's been arrested
15:58for sucking on a woman's toes at a Walmart.
