What does this news mean for the education system?

00:00I've heard from a number of members this morning by social media and also a few text messages
00:04and I think there's a sense that we are really pleased that the government's started to listen
00:09to the profession because there's been an overwhelming call to stop this overarching
00:14judgment of using one word to describe the work of a school. It means that schools will now be
00:19judged across four categories which is quality of education, it's to do with leadership and
00:24management of the school and so those different four categories will now be used instead of one
00:29word which has been used previously to describe the work of a school. Sister of Ruth Perry said
00:35her entire family were delighted with this new change. Ofsted need to inject significant amounts
00:44of humanity and empathy and proportionality into their system to support head teachers
00:53and teachers to drive improvement for the benefit of their children.
