Why does my Cat Have a Runny Nose?
If your cat has a runny nose, pay close attention to this video
The cause is called coryza or commonly “cat flu”, the infection of the upper respiratory tract of cats. Unlike in humans where it is caused by just one virus, in cats it can be caused by several viruses, bacteria and fungi.

Symptoms are sneezing, nasal and eye discharge. Nasal discharge is generally thick and yellow, but may also appear reddish or brownish. One or both nostrils may be affected. As the sense of smell is so important in the appetite of cats, many of them lose their appetite and lose weight. There may also be inflammation of the throat, which makes swallowing painful. Eye discharge can also affect just one eye. In more serious cases, the snout itself may swell. In some cases, chronic symptoms are milder, such as some episodes of sneezing and the presence of clear discharge.

Other common causes of nasal discharge in cats are Upper respiratory tract infections, Seasonal allergies, Inhaled irritants, Polyps, Tumors or cancer of the nasal tissues, Dental disease, Sinus problems that can cause recurrent nasal discharge, Foreign objects stuck in the nose
