00:00It was burned and stolen.
00:03That's what they said was burned in Sampaloc, Manila.
00:06And Jomer Apresto was arrested.
00:12You can imagine the residential area of this man,
00:15who is carrying firewood and LPG from the burned apartments in Sampaloc, Manila.
00:21But the man is from Kawatandao, according to the barangay.
00:25There's something going inside, and there's a lot of things,
00:28but we didn't know it was there.
00:31Because we only know the people who live there.
00:34The stolen items were recovered, but the man was able to escape.
00:38Aside from this, three men were brought to the precinct.
00:44But when we went to the precinct,
00:47the police said that there were no suspects there.
00:52According to the Bureau of Fire Protection,
00:54eight houses were burned in the area.
00:56When we arrived here, at the end,
01:00that's where the fire was coming from.
01:02We were able to escape easily.
01:04That's why it didn't reach the houses in front of us.
01:10Based on the investigation,
01:12the fire started around 1 a.m.
01:16and reached the second alarm.
01:18Joy, who is a resident,
01:19was not able to save anything,
01:21and her pet dog died.
01:24I took care of my dog,
01:25because when I came back,
01:27I couldn't take care of my dog.
01:30This fire volunteer had a hard time breathing
01:34because of the thick smoke.
01:35She was immediately given medical attention.
01:38The fire lasted for more than half an hour
01:41before it was extinguished around 2.40 a.m.
01:44The barangay said
01:46that they have already contacted the nearby barangay
01:49and the local government
01:50for an immediate investigation
01:52of the 40 families affected by the fire.
01:55Their barangay does not have an evacuation center.
01:59The BFP will continue to investigate
02:01what caused the fire.
02:05For GMA Integrated News,
02:07Jomer Apresto reporting for 24 Hours.
02:11Three new cases were reported to the country
02:14by the Department of Health.
02:15Eight of them were active cases.
02:18In terms of contact tracing,
02:20some of the patients had sexual encounters
02:23with people they knew through a dating app.
02:26Maki Polido was able to track them.
02:30Eight active MPOCS cases were reported to the country
02:32since this August.
02:34In total, since July 2022,
02:36there have been 17 confirmed cases of MPOCS in the country.
02:39Like the first cases,
02:41Mild Case of MPOCS or Clade 2B,
02:43there are three new confirmed cases.
02:45Case No. 15 is a 29-year-old man from Metro Manila
02:49who had anonymous sexual encounters
02:52with people he didn't know
02:54before his symptoms came out.
02:56Case No. 16 is also a man from Metro Manila,
03:0034 years old,
03:01who also had sexual encounters with his partner
03:03before his symptoms came out.
03:05Case No. 17 is a 29-year-old man
03:09who had sexual contact with a possible symptom of MPOCS.
03:13Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit
03:17had contact tracing of two active cases
03:19and one possible MPOCS case.
03:21However, there are challenges in completing contact tracing
03:24because patients had sexual encounters
03:26with people they didn't know through a dating app.
03:29They had multiple sexual encounters.
03:33It's hard to contact trace such cases.
03:37So there's no exchange of numbers and names.
03:41According to Dr. Ron Jean Solante,
03:43infectious disease expert,
03:45some may be embarrassed or afraid of the stigma
03:47that's why they don't get tested.
03:49But they need to think that they can also
03:51touch their loved ones at home
03:53due to prolonged and repeated skin contact.
03:58What if they have vulnerable population at home,
04:02elderly population,
04:04those who are pregnant,
04:06those who are children,
04:08eating together,
04:10sticking together every day
04:13without any protection.
04:15That can be a potential source of spread in the family.
04:19Two out of eight active cases
04:21have been discharged from San Lazaro Hospital
04:24and they will complete the isolation at home.
04:27Dr. Solante said MPOCS is the most contagious
04:30when the rashes come out.
04:32But MPOCS patients still get infected
04:34while they have lesions,
04:36even if it's just scabbing or it's already drying.
04:38It takes three to four weeks
04:40before it's completely gone.
04:42If you still have the scab,
04:44it can still be infectious.
04:46This coming Sunday,
04:47the Metro Manila Council will hold a meeting
04:49to discuss preparations for the possible
04:51increase of MPOCS cases.
04:53One of the discussions is
04:55how to use the molecular laboratories
04:57of some LGUs
04:59that were used during the COVID pandemic.
05:01This is something that we will coordinate
05:03with the Department of Health
05:05so that we don't have to rely on hospitals.
05:09It's better if local government units
05:12can test through our existing facilities.

06:27Members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ
06:29are complaining of the PNP's prohibition
06:31to use their cathedrals
06:33for the celebration of their
06:3433rd anniversary today.
06:37There was also an explosion
06:39and the sound of drilling equipment.

06:43we are joined by Kent Abregana
06:45of GMA Regional TV.
06:47Kent?
06:49Pia, at this time,
06:50drilling is still going on
06:53inside the JMC building
06:55inside the KOJC compound.
06:57According to the PNP,
06:58they have no idea
07:00how to drill inside the compound.
07:06Today is the 39th anniversary
07:08of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
07:10But they were not able to use
07:11the KOJC Cathedral
07:12for the celebration
07:14because the PNP prohibited them
07:16according to the lawyer
07:17of the group
07:18of Attorney Israelito Torreon.
07:20In front of the kingdom,
07:22It's the same, sir.
07:23We are happy.
07:24We have no feelings, sir.
07:25We are so blessed.
07:28We have to celebrate it peacefully.
07:30And so, we agree with that.
07:32It seems like the PNP is controlling
07:34and controlling the KOJC
07:37despite the temporary protection order
07:39according to Attorney Torreon.
07:40GMA Regional TV tried to get
07:42the PNP's permission
07:44but they still don't have it.
07:45The KOJC also took a video
07:47where they made a command post
07:49for the cathedral.
07:50It was denied by the police.
07:53There's a yellow line.
07:55There's a yellow line.
07:56So, there's an ongoing investigation.
07:59The cathedral became a command center.

08:03Cathedral?
08:04No, the command center is in the region.
08:06The PNP also tried to ask
08:08for permission to drill inside the KOJC.
08:11According to Torreon,
08:12this is a can grenade
08:14that was blocked by the KOJC members
08:16and one of their lawyers.
08:18Okay, the can grenade,
08:20can you confirm that?
08:21No, I'm looking for someone.
08:23I cannot even pinpoint it.
08:24But it's just the same.
08:25It's wrong.

08:29I don't know.
08:30I don't know.
08:31We're investigating.
08:33The KOJC also first questioned
08:35the entry of boxes
08:37and other equipment of the PNP
08:39inside the compound
08:40that was not passed through the scanner.
08:42According to Pro Eleven,
08:44this is a legitimate police operation
08:47and there is a necessity,
08:50for example,
08:51in this case,
08:52the troops on the ground,
08:54that we have operational secrecy.
08:57To protect the integrity of the operations,
09:01to protect the secrecy of the operations,
09:05there's a certain level of secrecy
09:07in the operations.
09:08The legal team of the KOJC
09:10also released a video.
09:12The JMC building
09:14in the KOJC compound

09:19if PNP Chief General Romel Marbil
09:21is the one who ordered the investigation.
09:23In another video of the KOJC,
09:25there were sounds of drilling equipment
09:27and people in the house.
09:29The PNP responded.
09:31We don't have any information about that.
09:35Not all tactical and strategic movements
09:40are known for
09:42so that our operations won't be jeopardized.
