00:00Hello everyone, today we will do a Linux tutorial, I have not done it for a long time, I feel good.
00:25Ok, let's go over it. I will show you an application on Linux, it's called MySpeed, it's an automation for speedtest.
00:38As I said, the tutorial is a Linux tutorial. Here I made a small description, if you want to check the connection speed, everyone knows, you run a speedtest.
00:51But if you are interested in monitoring these verifications over a longer period of time, now, either you want to stay with the internet provider, or you just want to see how you stay with the quality of the connection,
01:03from my point of view, there are two options. One, either you stay and run the periodic test, you wake up from time to time or how you want to run it, or you use an application that does this automatically.
01:18From my point of view, all you have to do is check the results from time to time of an application, as I said, it's called MySpeed.
01:30It is a relatively recently developed application, not very recent, but relatively recent, and it is a nice and easy-to-use application.
01:42For installation, we will use Docker, it is the simplest method, there is also direct installation, neither is very complicated, but for simplicity, in Docker, the simplest, this means you have Docker installed.
01:58If you don't know how to install Docker, look at the tutorials, I have a Docker installation tutorial, so nothing complicated.
02:07The application can be installed on several operating systems, in principle, on Windows, with GSNode, if you don't have it, but it doesn't matter, we limit ourselves to Linux, it's a Linux tutorial.
02:22For installation, as I said, we need a Linux server and this command line.
02:30The implicit port is 5216, as we can see, this part in front can be changed, if you use 5216 for something else, you can replace it.
02:43Once you have replaced it, you start it, once the installation has started, all you have to do is wait for it to finish.
02:50After that, access the server address, the port you wrote here, and the MySpeedTest interface will open for you.
03:00Ok, let's get down to business.
03:04As you can see, I have the port here, it is free.
03:10We copy this command, here we have the Linux server, we paste it, to show you how to change the port in 13204.
03:33Let's say here, for example, we can change the names, let's leave it like this for now.
03:41Here, if we want to say otherwise, MySpeedTest, for example.
03:49We changed what we were interested in, just as I said in the tutorial, we are waiting for the installation.
03:55It will download the image from the net.
04:04And that's it.
04:05If we go here, we see MySpeedTest 13204.
04:17Let's open it and see what happens.
04:22So, as I said here, all you have to do is wait for the installation to finish and access the server address and the port written here.
04:34So, 13204 in our case.
04:39Here we get a welcome message, we continue, we select which servers we want to test.
04:50Yes, for now we stay on Okla.
04:53And here, let's put some parameters.
04:56What is the ping?
04:58These are theoretical parameters.
05:02Let's say the ping is 5 milliseconds.
05:06The download speed, let's say it's 950.
05:12The upload speed is 950.
05:15Well, it doesn't matter.
05:16Only if you put these parameters, it will show you in yellow or red if it comes out of the parameters.
05:23We agree with everything.
05:25Done.
05:26And this is the interface.
05:29It tells us that no test is available at the moment.
05:33We can add servers if we have our server.
05:36It doesn't matter.
05:38Well, we're here.
05:40We can run a manual test.
05:42Start SpeedTest.
05:44And we wait.
05:56As you can see, the ping is 0.
05:58Download speed, upload speed.
06:00It's green because it exceeded what we calculated.
06:03Yes.
06:05Let's run another one.
06:15We have the same relative results.
06:20Not to mention the fact that it tests the speed between the Linux server and Ocla, not between the computer.
06:26The Linux server, in my case, is on the other side.
06:29It doesn't test the speed of my network.
06:32So, to test your network, you have to have it in the same network.
06:35The MySPEED server, you have to have it in the same network with ...
06:40I mean, to be in the network you want to test it on.
06:44Good.
06:45So, now I've figured out what the part with the tests looks like.
06:47Here we have some settings.
06:49Where you can change, if you want, optimal ping, for example.
06:55No, we're not going to change it.
06:57We're just going to change the upspeed.
06:59Let's say we're waiting for 1000.
07:05So, here you set it according to what you want.
07:09You have recommendations.
07:11You have to run 10 tests to run the recommendation.
07:16And it will make recommendations based on the average of the 10 tests.
07:25Here, if you want to change the provider from ...
07:30We haven't changed it for a while.
07:32So, you can change the provider from here, you can change everything you want, the server and so on.
07:38Manage storage, if you want to delete the tests.
07:45Here it tells you how many are.
07:47If you want to export them, if you want to import them, if you want to delete the history.
07:51Here you have some export, set, import, set, reset.
07:56Nothing very complicated.
08:00Here you can change a password.
08:02I mean, you put a password and when you access it, it asks you for that password.
08:06We're going to put a password just for fun.
08:13Here, the frequency, how often you want to run that test.
08:18Every minute, every 30 minutes, every hour, every 3 hours or every 6 hours.
08:25We give it an update.
08:29It will run.
08:30If you want to stop the tests, if you want integrations.
08:33We haven't talked about these for a while.
08:35Maybe we'll talk about them another time.
08:39More languages.
08:44If you want to set a period in which to show you the tests.
08:50The last 24 hours, the last 2 days and so on.
08:56And here's a very interesting thing.
08:58I personally don't like it, but I'm going to ask many to like it.
09:03To change from TestOverview to TestStatistics.
09:08And then it will show you some graphics here.
09:11The duration of the tests and so on.
09:14In principle, they are the same information, just clearer, so to speak.
09:20Let's go back to TestView.
09:22As you can see, it ran an automatic test.
09:26At 1 minute, as we set it.
09:30Here we have no other settings.
09:32So the application, in principle, is that simple.
09:37Just for fun.
09:38Let's install it again.
09:44And we leave everything default.
09:46And that's it.
09:49Now if we go to ...
09:52We can close it.
09:53It appears again with 5216.
09:58And if we open it.
10:00It won't ask us for the password, because it knows it.
10:03The idea is that if you try to run it from another browser or somewhere else.
10:08It will ask you for the password you set here.
10:15As you can see, the database is the same and this aspect is not important.
10:22As you can see, it works.
10:28Easy to use.
10:29Intuitively, I say.
10:33I have installed the application on all servers.
10:35I can test ...
10:39For example, here my speed has dropped very much.
10:42And it gave me red.
10:48It did the test and gave me red.
10:51So it's outside the parameters set by me.
11:00Of course, it tested it twice.
11:02Because the application appears here twice.
11:07Let's delete this.
11:13The download is approached now.
11:16The idea is that through this thing you can make the graphics you need.
11:22As I said here, to mess with the internet provider.
11:30This is a short, simple tutorial on the subject.
11:35I hope this application will be useful to you.
11:38I hope it will be useful to you in your day-to-day life.
11:44That's about it.
11:46I want to thank those who have subscribed to my YouTube channel.
11:50Or what else is here.
11:53There is also a Discord channel.
11:57Where, if you need help, you can ask.
12:01I try to answer you.
12:03I try to answer you on YouTube.
12:05I try to answer you by e-mail.
12:07I try to answer you on any version.
12:10If the questions are relevant.
12:13And of course, if I know how to answer you.
12:16That's about it.
12:18Thank you again for watching.
12:20I'm Remus.
12:21See you in the next tutorial.
