00:00What's crack-a-lacking, Gamer Nation? You know it is me, JohnTheGamer64, and your
00:07eyes do not see me, ladies and gentlemen. As you see here, I have obtained the
00:12coveted Tetris Slurpee gaming handheld that was out of stock since its release
00:20on the 7-Eleven website. So, as stated in my previous episode of Gamer Update, they
00:27did restock on August 20th, last Tuesday. So, as soon as they got the email, I
00:34freaking jumped on that so quick and bought it. So yeah, originally it was 30
00:42bucks, but you know, with the shipping fee and taxes, I think it was like 10 bucks. So,
00:48altogether, $40. And there was no way in hell I was gonna pay at least a hundred
00:54bucks just for this. But anyways, I'm freaking happy to have it. Ever since I
01:02seen the trailer on YouTube for it, I just had to have it. So yeah, here it is.
01:09Now we're about to unbox this bad boy and see what it offers, man. So, let's take a
01:17look at the packaging itself. Ooh, definitely like the packaging. It's pretty nice.
01:23There's little tetriminos on the side. On the front, the logo. And it says it has a glowing
01:29top, so your Slurpee will be glowing. I think that's what really drew me to it.
01:35Not only that, but you know, it looks like a Slurpee and just nostalgic reasons, man.
01:42It's like video games and Slurpees go hand-in-hand. I mean, remember back
01:47in the day, they actually had arcade games inside the 7-Eleven stores, like
01:52Street Fighter 2 and all kinds of games. Like, it was insane, man. But yeah, so let's take a
02:01look at the box here in more detail. All right, so let's check out the features.
02:07And this is an officially licensed Tetris title. Fully playable with a 1.8
02:14full-screen color screen. Powered by three AAA batteries or by USB-C
02:21cable, not included. Very nice.
02:28Okay, so let's check the box here. All right, so let's go ahead and unbox it, baby.
02:38Alrighty, time to unveil. Ha ha, okay.
02:46All right, so let's take a little film off the screen here. Yeah, I love the fake
02:54Tetris screen there. Ooh, I like the colored buttons. The d-pad feels nice.
03:02It's like a rubbery grip. So yeah, rubbery grips are pretty good. Get that
03:08accurate direction you want to go. All right, start, volume, power button.
03:21Okay, so that's where you plug in the USB-C cord. Okay, let's see here.
03:29Use high voltage alkaline batteries for longer playing time. Okay, so that's where the
03:34AAAs go. Let's tear that off. Those are the power switch here. Okay, so I'm
03:44wondering if it has a rechargeable battery or if it's like, oh, you have to
03:48have the cord plugged in in order to play it. So yeah, let me go get a USB-C
03:55cord right quick. All right, and we have one nearby. But yeah, let's just take a
04:02look at the design first. But yeah, a freaking Serpi cup with Tetrimino's
04:08all over the place. The logo, Tetris logo. I love that. That's just a cool design
04:16right there. All right, let's plug it in.
04:21Ooh, they're already lit up, huh? Oh, that's beautiful. Look at that. That is so cool.
04:38Yeah, that's what really drew me there, man. The light-up Serpi. Tetris is always
04:45the classic puzzle game anyway, so here, you know, that's the best part. So yeah,
04:50that is very nice. Oh my god, I'm so happy. I mean, I haven't even played it yet, but yeah.
04:57Go ahead and power it.
05:05All right, so level one, Handicap.
05:14All right, cool, so you can have sound, music, ghost piece. I'm not sure what ghost
05:19piece is. Whatever that is.
05:24Huh, noise. I think that's like a remix of the original song, right? I'm digging it,
05:50though. Like some sort of, like, remix to the Tetris theme, huh? Oh, ghost piece. Okay,
06:12so that's, I guess that's like a new handicap for, you know, new players or
06:17something. All right, that's very cool.
06:35All right, okay, that's cool. Let's turn it off real quick. I was thinking it's like the, I
06:44think there's like a late button. I'm guessing it, I mean, like, that's my
06:48assumption that it's gonna, like, change late or turn it off or something, but not
06:54doing anything currently, but you know, okay. But yes, so far the buttons feel
07:02nice, so as does the directional pad. Ooh, I like the little Tetris screen there. Yeah,
07:11we don't need the ghost piece. It's like, I know how to play Tetris. I've been playing this for
07:16years, man. Oh, so you can turn off the music and turn off the sound if you need
07:25to. I mean, I guess it would have been nice if they had the other songs just like they
07:46did in the Game Boy and the NES versions. Let's say that the remixed version of
07:52this one isn't cool, but, you know, if people like the other songs, then why not
07:58add them? Well, let's just kill ourselves on purpose here. Yeah, I like the Game
08:12Over music there. It lets you know you really screwed up on that one,
08:17since so many of the Tetris players play you. Okay, okay. All right, this is a really cool
08:29item, man. Like, I'm pretty happy with it. Like, I do love how the Slurpee glows and
08:36it looks like a freaking Slurpee cup. I mean, like, I think that was the biggest
08:39draw for me. But yeah, man. And I think this is like an original version, or like,
08:52ah, because I don't think it's a port. I mean, like, I haven't played every single
08:56version of Tetris of the original, but yeah, I don't think it's based off any
09:03any of those ports. I think it's like it's built from the ground up, I guess,
09:07for this one. Yeah. But anyways, I really, really do enjoy this piece, man. I'm so
09:18happy to have it in my collection. And yeah, just don't pay a hundred bucks for
09:24it. Like, if you're gonna get it, get it for, you know, the $40 price tag if they
09:30ever stock it. I'm not sure if it's sold out now, but yeah, don't pay a hundred
09:35bucks for it. I say, like, it's well worth the price tag. Well, actually, maybe I
09:41would have paid maybe, if I had to choose a price, maybe like $20, $25 at the most.
09:48But, you know, for $40, I'm like, that's fine. I mean, originally it was $30, but, you
09:54know, $10 with the shipping and taxes and all that BS. But yeah, really cool piece
10:03here. Calling Slurpee. Yeah, I love it. I love this piece. So, and that's a wrap,
10:15folks. That covers the unboxing slash first impressions of the Slurpee
10:21Tetris Handheld, made by My Arcade, in partnership with 7-Eleven, creator's
10:30Tetris. So, until next time, folks, I thank you all for watching. Love, Peace,
10:35Chicken Grease.
