00:00The Department of Health clarified that it was not airborne or caught in the air by MPOX but through skin-to-skin contact.

00:08That and other reminders about MPOX in the testimony of Bernadette Reyes.

00:16We asked some of our fellow Filipinos, what do you know about MPOX?

00:22It's like boiling water.

00:24I know, it's salty.

00:25MPOX is caused by flies, cockroaches, and skin diseases.

00:30The wind is what causes it.

00:32It infects people.

00:34But the Department of Health clarified that

00:36it was not airborne or caught in the air by MPOX but through skin-to-skin contact.

00:41In order to catch it, you need a blister.

00:46In the updated statement issued by the Department of Health,

00:49they reminded us to avoid MPOX, avoid close and intimate skin-to-skin contact,

00:55such as kissing, hugging, and hugging suspected or confirmed cases of MPOX.

01:03If you cannot avoid contact, you should wear personal protective equipment or PPE.

01:09Always wash your hands or drink alcohol.

01:12Personal hygiene is very important because the virus dies from soap and washing.

01:18Disinfect or clean items that may be contaminated by the virus.

01:22If you are going to a public place, wear long sleeves or jackets for additional protection.

01:28Avoid touching animals that may have a virus, such as mongoose.

01:33Health care providers are also ordering the DOH to inform about possible cases of MPOX

02:51and now we are having clade 1 evolving rapidly to a new strain.

02:56We are not sure what new strain will emerge in the future and the implication of such new strains.
