00:00There's nothing and no one it's happy citizens should worry about.
00:04Good morning. Well, maybe there is someone.
00:11Welcome to Mojo Play's News Roundup, where we bring you the biggest gaming news of the week.
00:18Uh, meow?
00:23Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell to get notified about
00:27our latest videos. Nintendo Indie Direct. Thank goodness for Nintendo bringing fans a showcase
00:37actually worth watching, as Nintendo's recent Indie Direct gave players quite a lot to get
00:42excited about in the coming months and well into next year. Focusing primarily on indie developers
00:48and their upcoming titles, Nintendo showed off DLC for the indie darling Sea of Stars,
00:54which will be free coming in early 2025, as well as announcing a new multiplayer mode for the title,
01:01allowing for up to three players to experience this throwback to classic turn-based RPGs.
01:13Fans of Power Wash Simulator will also get the chance to clean up Shrek's swamp in their new
01:18upcoming DLC pack, whether he likes it or not. In addition to a new mini campaign,
01:24players can also don a suit of armor as they descend into the dragon's lair and give it a
01:29good scrubbing. The new DLC releases this fall alongside other more recent DLC packs, such as
01:36Final Fantasy 7's Midgard, SpongeBob's Bikini Bottom, and even Doc Brown's Mini Adventures
01:42from Back to the Future. It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it. Alongside a number of other
01:50interesting titles varying from dating sims to cozy sims and everything in between, the smash
01:55hit Pizza Tower will also make its console debut with a Shadow Drop release and is available now
02:01on Nintendo Switch. The Wario-inspired platformer became an instant fan favorite with its wacky
02:07animations and frenetic pizza-themed gameplay. The puzzler that will outlive us all is also getting
02:17an updated release with Tetris Forever that not only includes the original Tetris in celebration
02:22of the series' 40th anniversary, but also its numerous spinoffs and collaborations over the
02:28years, including Bomb Bliss, Tetris Battle Garden, and many more. A new mode called Tetris Time Warp
02:35will see players battling head-to-head while the many versions and gameplay styles of the series
02:41over the years will randomly switch during gameplay. The recently leaked new SpongeBob
02:53SquarePants game starring Patrick was officially revealed and it's just as unhinged as you would
02:58expect from the C-Star. Featuring a fully open-world Bikini Bottom, players guide Patrick
03:04through various mini-games while also causing all kinds of havoc and chaos with a surprising
03:10amount of destructible environments to unleash your inner Patrick, for better or worse. The
03:16Patrick Star game will be released on October 4th on every platform available. Alongside finally
03:23revealing the September 12th release date for their upcoming and highly anticipated Marvel
03:27vs. Capcom Fighting Collection, Capcom also announced another collection coming in 2025
03:33with the Capcom Fighting Collection 2. Compiling eight classic fighting games from Capcom's
03:39extensive catalog including Power Stone 1 and 2, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Project Justice,
03:46Capcom Fighting Evolution, and many more once forgotten to time and lost arcade cabinets.
04:00Old-school RPG fans will finally get to relive some classics from their childhood as Konami
04:06and Square announced release dates for their upcoming HD 2D remakes of Suikoden 1 and 2 and
04:12Dragon Quest III respectively. The recent wave of HD 2D remakes have brought many classics into the
04:19modern day and with these versions in some cases being the only way to replay them, we say keep
04:24them coming and we'll keep playing. Suikoden 1 and 2 HD will be released on March 6th, 2025
04:31and Dragon Quest III HD on November 14th, 2024.
04:45Suikoden isn't the only classic franchise Konami is bringing back either. Somehow,
04:50Konami managed to find the beloved Nintendo DS entries in the Castlevania series buried in a
04:55basement somewhere and are not only releasing them as the Castlevania Dominus Collection,
05:01but also shadow dropping them on all platforms available now. The collection includes Dawn of
05:06Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia and will allow players to customize their screen
05:12in the classic DS style or any number of combinations. The collection also includes
05:17a remake of the original for the purists out there of the arcade classic Haunted Castle
05:22which started the entire Castlevania series. Death Stranding 2 Tokyo Game Show
05:41With the Tokyo Game Show only a month away, Hideo Kojima will be attending the show in a big way
05:48and bringing the highly anticipated sequel, Death Stranding 2, on the beach with him.
05:53The game was recently revealed to be coming in 2025 and it would seem that fans might not only
05:59get a brand new look at the title, but could also finally get their hands on the delivery sim.
06:04Kojima will be hosting a showcase alongside numerous guests including filmmaker Nicholas
06:09Winding Refn to discuss the game as well as new gameplay elements hinted at in the game's most
06:15recent trailers. Hopefully, we'll also get a solid release date as Kojima has been diligently
06:20working on fine-tuning the game, but that remains to be seen. Death Stranding was Hideo Kojima's
06:26first project since his nasty split with Konami and while many expected the creator to continue
06:32his work in the tactical espionage action genre he helped pioneer, Kojima instead re-teamed with
06:37Silent Hill star Norman Reedus to reconnect America in the midst of an apocalyptic disaster.
06:43Kojima also recently announced a horror title for Xbox codenamed OD and his return to the action
06:49espionage genre proper with Physant, although these titles are both still very early in production.
06:56Sam the man in the dark about everything. The Last of Us Part III unofficially confirmed?
07:06What the hell are you doing here?
07:07You think I'd let you do this on your own? While far from confirmation the game is truly
07:16in development, a recent job listing that has since either been filled or delisted
07:21suggests Naughty Dog might be hiring for a senior gameplay animator with a strong understanding of
07:27realistic creature animations and mechanics. Although Naughty Dog reportedly has numerous
07:33projects in the works including a new IP, the description of realistic creatures has many fans
07:38suspecting this points to The Last of Us Part III officially beginning development. Series director
07:44and creator Neil Druckmann had recently hinted he'd figured out a story for the third game,
07:49but wouldn't officially confirm if the game was the studio's next project. After the cancellation
07:54of The Last of Us Online, a modern update to the original game's factions, Druckmann assured fans
08:00that the studio had multiple single-player projects in the works, and given the success
08:04of The Last of Us franchise as well as the HBO series, there's little doubt a third entry will
08:10be coming. Given that in the last four years since The Last of Us Part II released in 2020,
08:15we've only received remakes and remasters from the talented studio, we're just hopeful for anything
08:21new at this point. Spyro and Crash crossover burns out. It must be a day of the week that
08:35ends in a why, because Activision once again made a stupid decision that left money out of
08:40their grubby little pockets by completely ignoring what the fans truly want. Recently uncovered
08:46reports reveal that after releasing Crash 4 It's About Time, Toys for Bob had big plans for their
08:52next entry, which would have seen the bandicoot crossover with another beloved mascot, Spyro the
08:57Dragon. Picking up directly after the events of It's About Time, the game would have seen the
09:02return of even more classic villains, and featured both Crash and Spyro as playable characters.
09:09However, despite selling over 5 million copies, Activision didn't consider Crash 4 a financial
09:15success, and instead put Toys for Bob to work on the short-lived and mediocre Crash Team Rumble,
09:22as the company wanted to focus more on live service titles. Because of course they did.
09:27This comes as Activision also cancelled a new single-player Tony Hawk's Pro Skater,
09:32despite the success of the remix of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2. Toys for Bob have recently
09:38become an independent studio after splitting with Activision, so it's possible some of the
09:42scrapped ideas for Crash 5 could still resurface as a spiritual successor, similar to Yooka-Landley
09:48from the former devs of Banjo-Kazooie. Fingers crossed, because we could always use some new
09:53inventive platformers. How many times have you beaten this clown anyway? Three. Really? Only three?
10:00Funny, seemed like more. Deadlock unlocked. Your allies will depend on you, as you depend on them.
10:11It's become something of a running joke that Valve doesn't know how to make games anymore,
10:16or even count to three. But it would seem that after revolutionizing VR with Half-Life Alyx
10:22only a handful of years ago, the studio might be jumping guns blazing into the hero shooter arena.
10:28Widely considered one of the worst kept secrets in the industry, after nearly 20,000 players had
10:34already gotten their hands on the title through Steam, Valve finally formally announced Deadlock,
10:39and so far the response has been widely positive. Unlike other hero shooters such as Overwatch,
10:45Deadlock combines the hero shooter formula with Dota-style gameplay mechanics, in which during
10:50your 6v6 match, you'll also be leading a team of NPCs to destroy the enemy's defenses. However,
10:57instead of simply issuing commands from the captain's chair, players will need to be boots
11:01on the ground in the action in order to help their squads advance past the opposing team's
11:06equally human-controlled forces. The player abilities work in tandem with the NPCs,
11:12so there's no possibility of a Leroy Jenkins-style strategy winning the day here. Mobility is a huge
11:18part of the gameplay as well, as players can easily zip around the environment using the
11:23level's built-in ziplines, as well as their own impressive parkour-inspired moveset.
11:28Valve might not be the most prolific developer in the industry, but given their pedigree,
11:33as well as the solid player feedback from those who got to experience the title,
11:37this could end up being the next big thing and the innovation the hero shooter genre
11:41desperately needs. It at least has to be better than Artifact, right?
11:52Sonic the Hedgehog 3 says whoa.
11:55He is much more impressive than the hedgehog I fought previously.
11:58Dude, I'm standing right here.
12:00It isn't hard to imagine what would have become of the potential Sonic franchise if fans hadn't
12:05bullied the studio to redesign their ugly Sonic into the blue blur we all know and love.
12:11After the resounding success of the first and second movie, as well as the Knuckles spin-off
12:16series, a third entry was inevitable, and fans got their first true look at Shadow the Hedgehog,
12:21voiced by Keanu Reeves.
12:23You're a colorful bunch.
12:25The trailer shows off Shadow's abilities, and when faced with the overwhelming strength of
12:29the edgy hedgehog, Sonic and his friends team up with Dr. Robotnik, now much closer to his
12:34video game counterpart after going into hiding after the events of the second movie.
12:41I need room.
12:42But sir, I don't have the proper materials.
12:45Found some.
12:46We also get a quick look at Shadow's backstory and the reveal of Dr. Robotnik's grandfather,
12:51Gerald Robotnik, also played by Jim Carrey.
12:54Given how the other films have played out, it's likely that Robotnik has plans of his own,
12:59and Shadow will eventually team up with Sonic and company and become the anti-hero fans know him as.
13:05But with only the briefest looks at his backstory in the trailer,
13:08it remains to be seen how deep into Sonic lore the third entry will go,
13:13or if many of those stories are being saved for the inevitable fourth movie.
13:17Sonic the Hedgehog 3 hits theaters on December 20th, 2024.
13:21Hey!
