00:02After coming to this program, for the first time I am seeing the hills all around me,
00:07the place where the Kargil war has taken place and where my brother had laid the supreme sacrifice.
00:13I am so overwhelmed that to protect the motherland, they have given up their lives
00:19and because of which today we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijaya Diwas Day.
00:25I am very honored.

00:31What did the family know at that time?
00:34You may not have been born, you must have been very young.
00:38I was in the fourth standard when the Kargil war happened and my brother died.
00:43So he came just before the war started, he came for a brief holiday.
00:48So he came and he spent time with the family and he did whatever he could to have the best time with the family.
00:54So we were not aware then that he would be coming back and fighting this war and he might not return.
01:01So we were not aware and that is how we had spent the happy last time together
01:08and after that through his letters we got to know that there was very little hope of him
01:15and he had not planned to return back to the family.
