00:00President Joko Widodo received the Agricola Medal from the World Food and Agriculture Organization
00:09at the Jakarta State Palace on Friday, August 30.
00:13In his welcome, the President said that the award was presented
00:18to all farmers and communities that actively contribute to the agricultural sector.
00:23Because, according to him, the Indonesian government is aware of the importance of food sovereignty and independence,
00:29because food is a basic human need that cannot be denied and cannot be ignored.
00:35The country has an obligation to provide food availability and accessibility for the people,
00:41so that the food security program becomes one of the priorities of the Indonesian government.
00:48And we are grateful to the Indonesian agricultural sector,
00:51which during the pandemic was able to grow by 1.7%
00:57and in 2023 contributed 12.5% to the national GDP.
01:07All of this is inseparable from the role and all components of the nation
01:13in the realization of food security and food sovereignty.
01:17Meanwhile, the Director-General of the FAO, Chu Dong-Yeu,
01:21said that the Agricola Medal was given to President Jokowi
01:25because, according to him, in the era of Jokowi's government,
01:28Indonesia is proven to be able to compete with developed countries,
01:32such as when he became the head of the G20 House and the four-eyed meetings with world leaders,
01:38such as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky,
01:44and US President Joe Biden in the midst of an increasing geopolitical tension.
