History made as first deaf TV presenter works live on Paralympic Games Channel 4
Transcript
00:00Now this is the first time that a deaf presenter has worked on a live program on the Paralympic Games.
00:05So just talk us through your team Rose.
00:09Yeah, it is a bit complicated. There's a lot going on.
00:11So obviously you're hearing, so you have an earpiece, but I'm too deaf for that.
00:17So I have a lovely Kirsty over there, and she's going to be my earpiece lady.
00:21And then I also got Rebecca and Toby, and they're going to be my interpreter and
00:27translations when you're speaking, and also when we have a deaf chair.
00:31And also I've got a tablet here that our boss Grace will be writing,
00:34so every now and then I might have a little look. So there's a lot going on.
00:39There is, but we are going to make this work brilliantly because it is like a relay team effectively,
00:44and we all hand the baton to each other.
00:46But also importantly for viewers, there is live BSL interpretation.
00:50Yeah, so it is really important. Don't worry, you don't have that.
