Dungannon's Kiverco collaborates with Surrey-based waste management company for new waste recycling plant
Transcript
00:00We are mainly a skip hire company that has slowly morphed into exporting waste and dealing
00:14with the local authorities waste.
00:17We do a lot of shredding of waste on site and recovery of materials.
00:26Our last Kevaco plant was 15 years old.
00:29It served us well.
00:31We looked at changing the plant for obviously something more up to date so we could get
00:35more tonnage through and recover more material.
00:41We've had this trommel now for the best part of 16 years.
00:44It's been reliable throughout its service and we've carried out some modifications on
00:49it and obviously done some maintenance work on it and it's just brought it back into life
00:53We're hoping to see another 4-5 years from this trommel.
01:02The plant that we've designed is producing a very clean hard core, taking out a lot of
01:06metal recovery on wood.
01:08The rest of the plant then has a fine clean up system which they've never had before which
01:12will produce 10mm fines, a light fraction waste and a clean 10-15 stone fraction.
01:19The most impressive thing with the plant is the tonnages an hour we're putting through it.
01:24We're putting about 50 tonne an hour through the plant.
01:26We're recovering more wood, fines and obviously a lot more rubble, metals.
01:31We've diverted pretty much all the way from landfill so everything is baled and exported.
01:41The installation process from Kevaco was to the letter.
01:47Obviously Britannia Crest having a plant before knew exactly what they wanted so everything went smoothly.
01:59The plant was designed with a front end shredder shredding everything to 300mm piece size.
02:05Part of the design, we couldn't fit all in the building so we had to use some of the
02:09equipment on the outside of the building so with our design team we had to think about
02:14how we would do that that didn't interfere with the customers operations on the site.
02:22The build went perfectly, there wasn't any delays and they put the plant in on time.
02:28We've been working with Kevaco for the last 16 years so
02:32we know the abilities, we know the company and we've got a close working relationship with them.
02:37I helped install the Britannia Crest plant 16 years ago when it was a fitter on the shop floor
02:45and 16 years later being part of the process of selling their new pre-sectum plant
02:52it makes us very proud that they decided to choose Kevaco once again.
02:59I would highly recommend Kevaco and I have done so to other customers of ours who are
03:05interested in waste plants.
