Are you doing IT right?

Mistakes, we all make them, and more often than not, we rectify them. However, in recent weeks, I’ve seen so many individuals and businesses make so many mistakes in their uptake of Tech that it makes my body shiver.

The idea that you could do the work you did in the physical space and move it literally into a digital one is nonsensical, and there are better ways to do it. On Friday, I’m hosting a Zoom group call with professionals, and I’d love to hear how you’re dealing with the current situation.

00:00Earlier today, I sent out my weekly Wednesday newsletter and in it I
00:05Sent out an invitation for a zoom call a group. I want to do a group call on Friday
00:10So if you're available, there'll be a link down below register and hopefully join in
00:16The reason why I'm doing that is because in these past few weeks
00:19I've actually been to a ton of webinars a ton of online zoom meetings
00:26loads of different types of workshops, etc
00:30Not only because I'm interested in those subjects
00:32but mainly for some research and research in the way of how people are conducting these
00:40Webinars and and so on obviously webinars and zoom meetings and stuff have been going on for a long time
00:46But we've all been kind of pushed into this situation right now and I see a lot of people making a lot of mistakes
00:54Now for years people like me it guys like me have been telling people
00:59Digitize get your technology sorted not necessarily because of pandemics like this
01:05But because you need to understand that technology is going to leave you behind if you don't
01:11leave
01:12Your company behind if you don't adopt it
01:15So, you know this whole digital transformation thing has been going on for a long time and no one listened and now I
01:21After going to all these meetings and webinars and stuff. I see the the mistakes people are making
01:27it's it's
01:29amazing really and
01:31The whole point of the zoom call on Friday is actually to talk a kind of about that
01:37But also to understand how?
01:40You and how people are generally using this technology
01:44what I see and the issue that I found is that people have
01:51They've been clambering on to this technology to to
01:55To transform their company into this digital this size world, but what they're doing isn't
02:04Adopting new ways of working which is kind of what you need to do. What they've done is basically moved a box from here to here
02:11And that doesn't work. It simply doesn't work some things might work, but
02:18Nine times out of ten just moving a box from one area to another won't work because you're not taking into account
02:25How the technology works how?
02:30Looking at mannerisms and stuff in a meeting
02:34It's in a one-to-one meeting in a physical meeting. It's completely different to an online meeting how I?
02:42Movement how
02:45Looking at someone in the eye. I mean a lot of times I'm basically seeing this so how annoying is this?
02:51So yeah this in this meeting we're gonna yeah look let I mean it's stupid because you're not looking into the person's eye
02:58Obviously you look around. I'm constantly looking around and not always looking in the camera because that's how
03:06Human
03:08Interaction is done if you're constantly like this with someone. It's it's it's a mindfuck. You don't want to be there
03:15so I I see a lot of
03:17Mistakes people are making not just with their being on camera, but with the technology itself and
03:24I'm just interested in how
03:28People are taking up this
03:31new
03:32Found technology how they're actually using it. So on Friday as I said, I'll put a link down below
03:39At 2 o'clock. Is it 2 o'clock? Yeah 2 p.m
03:42I'm basically putting in our asides to the zoom group call with people to figure out
03:50How they're stuck are they stuck what kind of hurdles are they dealing with is
03:57Remote working working for you is remote working just not something that you can do. I'm genuinely interested
04:05Anyway, that's the episode today. I'll pull it links to everything below if you have a comment
04:10I'd love to hear about it again all the details below
04:15Hopefully I'll see you Friday
04:17Before that, I'll see you tomorrow for tomorrow's video. Have a great day as always. Keep it simple. Keep it calm
04:23See you tomorrow. Ciao. Bye. Bye
