00:00Hello, I'm on the tram, the Midland Metro, from Wolverhampton to Birmingham and as you
00:09can probably hear behind me, we have the concert pianist from the City of Birmingham Symphony
00:15Orchestra entertaining the passengers.
00:18I am joined by June Smith and Jacqueline Hall, both from Bilston, who were not aware that
00:25this was going on.
00:26Jacqueline, what do you think of this then?
00:28I think it's quite nice, it's nice to have a relaxing journey on the tram.
00:34And what do you think of the music?
00:35Do you like the music?
00:36Not my thing, but I am enjoying it to be honest.
00:39And this came as a complete surprise to you?
00:41Yes, yes, yes it did.
00:43Very good stuff.
00:44And is this tram normally this busy?
00:46No.
00:47No, not really.
00:48And June, what did you think when you saw there was a pianist on the piano?
00:54Very relaxing.

01:10I am joined here now by Lee Mortyboys, who has come from Birmingham especially to see
01:17this performance on the tram.
01:20Please tell me Lee, what do you think of the music then?
01:22How are you finding it?
01:23Yeah, I think it's brilliant, like the outreach programme, it's free music out into the community
01:30so children can listen to it, maybe people who can't get into symphony hall or can't
01:36afford symphony hall all the time get to hear a world-class conductor on a tram.
01:42Yeah.
01:43And the music itself, so the repertoire, what do you like of that?
01:46Yeah, it's a wide range of repertoire to suit all tastes, it's played by a wide variety
01:52and some people have been singing along to certain things he's been doing.
01:57So yeah, he's got a good variety there, yeah.
02:00I'm joined on the tram, the Wolverhampton to Birmingham tram by Nigel Blount, who got
02:07on at Bilston.
02:08First of all, Nigel, what did you think when you got on the tram then?
02:12I was a bit surprised, to say the least, but it's still very good, it's interesting.
02:18I didn't realise, I talked to the guys on here, it's the last one I think, so we were
02:22lucky to get on.
02:24Great idea, should go for it.
02:26And what do you think of the music?
02:27Oh, excellent, yeah, very soothing, very relaxing.
02:31And is it normal, is it busy on this tram?
02:33No, no, no.
02:34And you were just going on the tram, what, to go to Birmingham?
02:37Go to Birmingham, a few beers, a bit to eat, a bit of social.
