00:00Hi, I'm Andy Adler. I am the newly appointed chair of the Stemming and District Food and
00:06Drink Festival for 2024. 2024 is going to be a year of change for the festival. It's
00:13got an illustrious past, it's got at least 14 years of heritage and a great deal of effort
00:19has gone into putting it on the map. We took the bold decision at our committee meeting
00:25in April that we're going to change the format for this year. We're going to shorten the
00:28programme and really concentrate on celebrating the quality vendors, quality producers that
00:35we've got within the region and creating a marquee event around and celebrating food
00:41and drink. We will continue with the offers that the local businesses are generously giving
00:49to support the festival and there's a number of events that they will also be putting on
00:52throughout the week. I think the main change and the main highlight of the festival this
00:59year is the Street Food Piazza that is taking place on Sunday 8th September from 12 o'clock
01:06till 6 o'clock and we are bringing together some of the region's best restaurants, some
01:13of the region's best drinks vendors, we've got some music being played all day and we're
01:17going to create a fantastic atmosphere, some amazing smells and some amazing tastes with
01:24all of these fantastic restaurants and food providers. We want to create the real atmosphere
01:32in the town, we want to add to the other festivals that take place in the town and really make
01:37it a destination for people, not just from Stirling but also from the surrounding area.
01:41So I'm really excited about it. The weather is an unknown quantity but fingers crossed
01:47that will stay good. I'm just looking forward to an absolutely fantastic day on the 8th
01:51and enjoying the whole festival.
01:53So my name's Amy Victory, I'm the community fundraiser for St Barnabas House Hospice.
01:58We are the local adult hospice for Worthing, Hemphill, Arran and District areas. We support
02:07all local adults in the community and have been very kindly supported by the Stirling
02:12Food and Drink Festival this year. We're truly grateful for their kind support and
02:17without the support of the local community we wouldn't be able to provide the kind of
02:20care that we do. It costs only £10 million each year to run St Barnabas House and only
02:2622% of that comes from government. So it's fundraising events like the Stirling Food
02:32and Drink Festival that enable us to support our local community. We're really grateful
02:37for all the events that happen throughout the Stirling Food and Drink Festival and we
02:42are delighted to be attending the Street Piazza on Sunday the 8th of September. So we'd be
02:48delighted to see as many of you as possible and really are grateful for any support that
02:53you're willing to give. Thank you very much.
