00:00I cannot stand all-white kitchens.
00:04And it drives me nuts because all-white kitchens
00:07are still really a thing.
00:09With like builder flippers here in LA,
00:11they all put these all-white kitchens in.
00:14And I get so frustrated.
00:15A house just sold next door to us
00:17that a builder had come in and flipped,
00:19and they did an all-white kitchen.
00:20And now I see the new homeowner ripping it out.
00:23And environmentally, it's such a waste.
00:25They're like, well, we just want to do all-white
00:27because we want it to appeal to everybody.
00:29But I'm like, it doesn't appeal to anybody anymore.
00:31Stop doing it.
00:32Put a little personality in there.
00:34You know, you don't have to go crazy with color,
00:36but maybe put some earth tones, you know,
00:37just do something to where those cabinets,
00:39that backsplash, the countertop.
00:42It's just, you walk in and it doesn't feel like a kitchen.
00:44It feels like an operating room.
00:46I hope people read this and stop doing it.
00:51Tension builders in LA are everywhere.
00:54Stop doing all-white kitchens, all-white bathrooms.
00:57Years ago, I had furniture retail stores around the US,
01:00and we had one in Miami, and the Miami one,
01:02you know, due to New York winters,
01:04I spent a lot of time at my Miami store in the winter.
01:07And I would have, it was a very colorful store.
01:10Like, my store was very mid-century.
01:12It was all about color,
01:13even though I'm not a very colorful person myself
01:15in my own home.
01:16But I would have customers walk in,
01:18and it'd be in Miami where everybody loves all-white.
01:20They're like, this is all great,
01:22but can I get this in all-white?
01:23And I'm like, no.
01:25There are plenty of stores in Miami
01:27that you can do the all-white thing.
01:29This is not here.
01:31Here, we embrace color.
01:33You know, for me, I'm not a big fan of trends,
01:36because I feel like people should do
01:38what makes them happy in their home,
01:42and not necessarily worry about what I tell them
01:44should make them happy,
01:45or, you know, what any designer tells them
01:48that makes them happy.
01:49So it should be about putting things in your home.
01:51But for me, one of the trends
01:53that I actually would love to get started,
01:54it's fall cleaning instead of spring cleaning.
01:56You know, everyone's like, oh, spring cleaning.
01:59And you know, you open up your garage door,
02:00or you put everything outside to organize it,
02:01and then it rains,
02:02because it's springtime.
02:03That's what it does.
02:05For me, fall, less rain,
02:07and most people are already digging in their garages
02:11starting in like October for their Halloween decor,
02:14and then in November for their Thanksgiving decor.
02:17So you're already in your garage.
02:19You're already digging through things.
02:20So I think the fall is actually the best time of year
02:22to do cleaning.
02:23I want to get back people to stop doing
02:25that spring cleaning thing and focus on fall.
02:28Yeah, so when Amazon came to me about this,
02:30they're like, hey, you know,
02:32we want to talk to somebody about, you know, smart devices.
02:34And like, you know, gave me a list of like,
02:36which one of these do you use?
02:37And I was like, all of them?
02:40I was like, well, this is perfect.
02:41I have been a big SIY fan
02:44and smartifying yourself for years.
02:46I mean, ever since you could connect a light bulb
02:49to the internet,
02:50I have been connecting light bulbs to the internet.
02:52I think I've always looking for ways
02:54to make my life easier and more automated.
02:57And luckily, like literally everything in your house
03:00can be smartified now.
03:04So yeah, it just was a natural, perfect partnership
03:07because not only do I use Alexa,
03:10not just in my house, but in my car,
03:12but I use the Smillips,

03:18I use it with my music.
03:20I use my Ring cameras, my Blink cameras.
03:23So it's been a really great partnership
03:25because it's, you know,
03:26I'm all about working with brands that I actually use.

03:33but I am.
03:34I'm like, if I actually am not an avid user of this product,
03:37I'm not going to promote it.
03:39So it was just, it was a match made in heaven.
