City manager shares high praise for team after win over Leicester

Gareth Taylor spoke highly of new recruit Vivianne Miedema, and Australian star, Mary Fowler.

00:00Yeah, I think Viv's a top player. I think she's obviously got to learn our way now.

00:06I think she's been in one place for a long time and probably do things slightly different

00:10to what we do. But fair play, the early signs are really positive. She's a top player, there's

00:15no doubt. We can get the ball to her in those situations where she can cause maximum problems.

00:21I thought she linked up well with Bunny and Jess at times and obviously with Yui as well.

00:25So I thought she was, in a 20-minute spell, I thought she was very good.

00:29I think Mary's got the ability to be the best player in every game. I think it just

00:33depends on Mary. So we try and make her feel as confident. She trains well. I think tonight

00:40we saw some glimpses at moments, but I think she can do a little bit more and that's being

00:45really honest. And we get that sometimes. I think the more you put Mary in situations

00:50like that, then you'll see her start to be the very best.

00:53And of course, we've got a lot of new players out there tonight, a lot of young players.

00:58They're really still in the early part of gelling together. And Mary will play a big

01:02part for us this season.
