00:00:09Victorian Bushrangers hosting the Queensland Bulls live and exclusive on Fox Sports from

00:00:15It is perfect conditions here for cricket, clear skies, a maximum temperature of 31 degrees.

00:00:20Well this is it for the domestic players, this is the biggest moment of the year to

00:00:27win the Sheffield Shield Final.

00:00:29Rob Quiney getting the opportunity to open, Chris Rogers, broken finger, did not allow

00:00:35him to play today and the left-hander got a big hundred against Tasmania a couple of

00:00:40games ago but has found runs pretty hard to find.

00:00:45An average of just under 30 and the best that was a couple of games ago against Tasmania

00:00:51of 153.

00:00:52But a great opportunity for Rob Quiney and he'll be joined at the other end by his Sankilda

00:00:58teammate, or ex-Sankilda teammate, now playing for Frankston Peninsula, the captain down

00:01:04there Nick Jewell, who's been a wonderful player over the last four or five years averaging

00:01:0937, best of 188 and has been a very consistent scorer in Shield Finals over the years.

00:01:19And for Queensland, experienced swing bowler Chris Swann, joined here with Jimmy Marr,

00:01:24he has been in outstanding form with bat and ball.

00:01:27Yes, good morning Damien Fleming and good morning to all our viewers.

00:01:30Yes, Chris Swann to commence proceedings for Victoria, has been going sensationally well

00:01:35as you said for Queensland in recent times and for the season, 28 wickets at 21.

00:01:40So he's been very good up front with the new prune and hopefully today he can get some

00:01:45early inroads against the Victorians.

00:01:47All set to go in the Shield Final.

00:01:51Right on the money straight away Chris Swann.

00:01:56And they're the first runs for Rob Quiney, off the mark, always a good feeling Jimmy.

00:02:00Fantastic, and I reckon he got off the mark a few times like that as most left handers

00:02:05do, the shaping ball coming back in.

00:02:07Oh, a cut shot for Nick Jewell, very confident shot, bit of class there, picks up his first

00:02:20little bit short, a little bit wide, and Jewell pounced on it pretty quickly.

00:03:09and that little bit of pressure creeps into this five day game, Junior, if they can really,

00:03:14really start well to the next few batsmen, Queensland in a good position.

00:03:17Yeah, Rob Quiney, disappointed, following the ball, he goes for 15, it's one for 24.

00:03:23Aaron Finch coming in at number three for the Bushrangers and he's got a challenge here,

00:03:28Chris Swann is bowling very well, getting that ball just to swing around and nip off

00:03:39That's a good area there, good length, that's what I like about Chris Swann, he's committing

00:03:42the batsmen to that area, just where the edge could come.

00:03:52That's a beautiful shot, quick to the pitch of the ball, genuine half volley, probably

00:03:56not James Hope's best ball he's ever bowled, but he still had to dispatch it and he did

00:04:04Yeah, it's probably a fraction too full, I don't mind that.

00:04:17That's just reward, that's magnificent bowling, he's been there or thereabouts all day, getting

00:04:21the ball to nip back, Nick Jewell has not looked comfortable from ball one and there's

00:04:24been a couple of near misses, this has happened a few times, he's played the ball, he's chopped

00:04:28it on, I'm not sure he's got it in so good, but that's excellent bowling by Chris Swann

00:04:32and you can see the enjoyment on all the guys' faces because he thoroughly deserves that.

00:04:37They've been in the zone, the Queenslanders, they have looked good.

00:04:42The wicket has been really unresponsive, but so far so good.

00:04:47Two down, Nick Jewell goes for seven, two for 33.

00:04:52David Hussey, the new batsman for the Bushrangers, clocking up 5,000 runs and a good average

00:04:57of 45, nearly 800 runs this season in Sheffield Shield cricket.

00:05:05And he comes in at a testing time for the Bushrangers because Chris Swann has got two

00:05:13for nine.

00:05:15This is the big wicket for the Bulls, if they get him, they're right into the middle order

00:05:19here.

00:05:23That's an excellent start, Dave Hussey, not sure whether the play ends up leaving, it's

00:05:27a good leave in the end.

00:05:29And that's through and off the mark for Hussey.

00:05:32A quick outfield here at the MCG and he's opened his account at the boundary.

00:44:13for their sake, and the match's sake, I hope they get a score somewhere

00:44:17around about that of 300. And we did have a little bit of rain this morning so

00:44:22delayed start by 10 minutes but nothing got on the pitch. Mark Wall was down there and said it

00:44:27looks very good. There's still enough little grass coverings to make the new

00:44:33ball move around. But it may be the best day for batting. Oh definitely. There's

00:44:38still a little bit on offer, especially with the new wall, but this little bit,

00:44:42this little session here, there's gonna be lots of pressure from the Bushrangers.

00:48:26and a vital breakthrough. A trail by 62 runs. Feldman has been pretty handy with

00:48:4040 not with just pure not out. He's scored 160 runs. Looking forward to watching this.
