00:00Traffic was brought to a standstill as they marched through the streets of Perth.
00:07While their commitment was clear, there's still uncertainty around what administration means for the WA branch.
00:13I'm going to be very cautious on what I say about that, because officially the branch is in administration, as all our branches are.
00:22My position hasn't been spilt as yet, and quite frankly I don't want it spilt.
00:27So I'll be careful on how I go with that.
00:29Mr Buchan says the union should still be able to protect and represent workers unimpeded.
00:34My direction for my organisers and my team is to go out there and do your job.
00:39And that is to protect workers, protect the industry, look after the women, look after everything that we do.
00:46Wage claims, black cladding, respond to any call that comes through.
00:50The Premier has said Labor won't take donations from the union while the administration is in effect.
00:55He's now seeking a meeting with the administrator to find out how it's going to work.
01:02You would have observed in the east coast where they've made CFMEU officials actually exit the buildings,
01:08taking their phones, cars, things off them in relation to their work.
01:12That's not the way it's going to function in WA as far as my understanding is concerned.
01:16We know the Premier is beholden to the CFMEU.
01:19He was appointed by the unions and has been bankrolled by the CFMEU as well.
01:24While the rally and march lasted little more than an hour, the Premier says it was unauthorised
01:29and has warned there may be consequences as a result.
