Captain America Brave New World Trailer_ Dark Avengers Scene, Thunderbolts & Things You Missed

00:09Welcome back, everyone.
00:10It's Charlie.
00:11Thunderbolt Ross is putting a team together and he wants you to be part of it.
00:14The new Captain America Brave New World trailer has a much longer full scene of Thunderbolt
00:19Ross at the White House asking Sam Wilson's Captain America to rebuild a new Avengers
00:24team with him.
00:25Keep in mind he says he's already doing it and he just wants his help to be part of it
00:29like he wants him to be on that new Avengers squad.
00:32So he's already in the middle of forming his own Avengers team.
00:35That's why the music is very ominous given the Red Hulk subplot the events of the Thunderbolts
00:41movie which is coming out right after this movie and what's going on with the team in
00:44that trailer.
00:45Val being the one who bought the Avengers tower from Iron Man.
00:49I think it's all meant to be connected to them creating the dark Avengers in the movies.
00:54So we'll break it all down.
00:56Everything is connected.

01:09big part of that new Captain America Brave New World trailer is spelling out the adamantium
01:13subplot how it's connected to the dead celestial in the Indian Ocean team it there finally
01:18following up on the end of that Eternals movie.
01:21Even though it does sound like they canceled Eternals to like that's not gonna happen anymore
01:25Thunderbolt Ross asked Sam Wilson to take part in his new Avengers team right before
01:30his big PowerPoint presentation where he explains adamantium to all the other world leaders.
01:35This is right before Isaiah Bradley goes full winter soldier on and trying to kill him.
01:46Based on the timeline and all the Captain America four trailers so far.
01:50It sounds like the movie opens with Captain America in the new Torres Falcon in his wingsuit
01:54you actually sees wingsuit here in a couple different scenes.
01:57It's green like the comics.
01:58The movie starts with their mission to Tiamat to steal the adamantium that's where all these
02:03scenes of them in the middle of the battle are from the US ship is serving as their base
02:07during the mission.
02:08You can see all these explosions around them inside the ship here you can see the Japanese
02:12planes on the radar screen because they're stealing the adamantium sample from a Japanese
02:17dig site on Tiamat on that dead celestial in the comics.
02:21It was actually the Japanese that came up with the technique for bonding adamantium
02:24to someone skeleton like these are all Wolverine Easter eggs weapon X Easter eggs to in the
02:29background, but that's like a completely separate subplot from what's happening with the dark
02:33Avengers as Thunderbolt Ross says later at the briefing.
02:37There's a bunch of world leaders here from other nations.
02:39He's telling them adamantium was found on the celestial and it belongs to the entire
02:43world.
02:44What he probably really means there is that it belongs to him to America.
02:48So that's why he basically has Captain America and Falcon here still the samples of adamantium
02:52the Japan had found and it for now it only seems like there's that one single vial of
02:57it.
02:58There's probably more on the celestial, but I think the idea is that it's meant to be
03:00incredibly rare right before that goes down there all these scenes of everyone arriving
03:05at the White House like they're having this big celebration this big party.
03:09In addition to the briefing about adamantium notice you see the leader here from the incredible
03:14Hulk movie taking all these shady pictures in the background hiding of Thunderbolt Ross
03:18and Captain America outside the White House here.
03:21He also looks very green, so I think he's meant to be more comic book accurate during
03:24the movie he's meant to be the actual main villain of the movie like Thunderbolt Ross
03:29is not the actual villain of the film when he becomes red Hulk.
03:33The leader is meant to be the main villain.
03:35He's also the one that turns Thunderbolt Ross into red Hulk, which is also true of the comics
03:39as well to, but the circumstances for how Thunderbolt Ross became red Hulk in the comics
03:44were completely different in the comics that was all something the intelligentsia did during
03:48the World War Hulk event, but it sounds like at some point in the movie the leader doses
03:54Thunderbolt Ross with Hulk's blood, but before all that goes down Captain America arrives
03:59at the briefing here after successfully recovering the adamantium giving it to the military to
04:04Thunderbolt Ross and they make it sound like he just recently became president fun fact
04:08to in real life.
04:10The United States is currently in the middle of a presidential election year.
04:13The next US president will actually be confirmed in office right before this movie releases
04:18in theaters.
04:19I don't think Marvel plan it that way on purpose.
04:21I think it's just a funny coincidence, but during their conversation about reforming
04:25an Avengers team Thunderbolt Ross makes it clear that he's putting a new team together
04:29himself and he just wants Captain America to help with that process to be part of the
04:34new Avengers team.
04:42This is where we get to dark Avengers.
04:44So in the comics the difference was that it was Norman Osborn who created the dark Avengers
04:48right after he took credit for stopping the scroll invasion during secret invasion originally
04:53I think the secret invasion series was meant to set up this Captain America for movie in
04:57a bigger way because during the series the president is still Ritson and Nick Fury tells
05:02him at the end of that series that his actions will come to bite him in the ass cut to a
05:07couple years later inside the MCU like a couple years have gone by since then we learn that
05:12Thunderbolt Ross has defeated him in the recent presidential election.
05:16I don't know how much the movie is going to get into the back story of how he won the
05:19presidency like what the actual process was maybe just light references like to just start
05:24the movie and he'll already be president in the just kind of hand wave over how that happened
05:28because I kind of think Marvel wants to forget that the secret invasion series ever happened.
05:33But he's mostly known in the MCU is a military man like he was known as General Thunderbolt
05:38Ross for most of his life.
05:39He only started working in the government around Captain America civil war was political
05:43career minus that five-year time jump has been relatively short.
05:47But I think the idea is that inside the MCU America has gotten more paranoid in the wake
05:52of Thanos the events of Avengers infinity war the snap Avengers endgame all these many
05:57different alien invasions.
06:00So they wind up voting a more hardcore militaristic president into office like were in the middle
06:05of a dark reign era in Marvel for instance Kingpin is becoming mayor of New York City
06:10running on a more hardcore kind of campaign like I'm gonna get rid of all the trash.
06:13I'm in a really clean things up.
06:15It's kind of the same vibe for Thunderbolt Ross, but in a much bigger way because it's
06:19the entire country and he wants to form a new Avengers team that he can control a more
06:32hardcore Avengers team, which is basically what the dark Avengers were in the comics
06:38Norman Osborn tries to get the regular Avengers to do what he wants like I'm in charge now,
06:42but they all wind up quitting the team the like I'm not taking orders from Norman Osborn
06:46the way the Kevin Feige explains it.
06:48The Avengers currently do not exist inside the MCU.
06:51I think like the last thing you could say like the last time the Avengers ever fought
06:55together was when Captain America called for the Avengers assemble moment and because this
07:00ties in with what's happening in the Thunderbolts movie remember century was on the dark Avengers
07:04team, but Norman Osborn convinced him to be on the team.
07:07The century himself is actually a good character that wants to be hero.
07:11It's the void personality that's the evil part of him, but essentially Norman Osborn
07:15is dark Avengers were a bunch of villains are like darker characters who were just willing
07:20to do whatever he told them to do the government controlled Avengers team.
07:25So I think this is why in the Captain America brave new world trailer.
07:28This is why they make such a big deal about Captain America and Thunderbolt Ross disagreeing
07:32with each other on policy like he asked him straight up what happens if we have a disagreement
07:37is a reference back to the events of Captain America civil war in the trailer.
07:41He specifically calls out Thunderbolt Ross over his role in tearing the original Avengers
07:45team apart.
07:46Like why would you do that and then turn around and want to reform the Avengers when he replies
07:50thing is that a change of heart.
07:52I think the idea is that he still plans on having an Avengers team that he can personally
07:56control but they don't want Thunderbolt Ross to be the villain of the movie Anthony Mackie
08:01even said when the movie picks up his Captain America starts out having a decent working
08:06relationship with his character.
08:08You can kind of see from the trailers though that working relationship deteriorates pretty
08:12fast over Isaiah Bradley.
08:14Then they actually come to blows literally after he turns into Red Hulk, but like I said
08:20they don't want Thunderbolt Ross or Red Hulk to be the villain of the movie.
08:24So the part of the idea is that he doesn't realize that he's been turned into Red Hulk
08:27is a more mindless version of the whole kind of like Bruce Banner was when he first became
08:32Hulk the part of the idea is that the movie is Anthony Mackie's Captain America trying
08:38to find a way to stop him from destroying everything and help him without actually having
08:43to kill him.
08:44Even though technically you can't really kill the Hulk in the Red Hulk is kind of like that
08:47to some of his powers will be a little bit different from the Bruce Banner green Hulk,
08:52but essentially it amounts to the same idea like you can't really kill a Hulk they just
08:55get stronger the matter they get the supposed to be a couple more teasers for the new Avengers
09:00team during the movie.
09:01Now I put a couple them in this video like the clip at the beginning of this, but I think
09:04it's for both the dark Avengers in a teaser for the actual good new Avengers team to maybe
09:10in like a post credit scene or something like that the end of the movie.
09:14Here's where we spill over into the Thunderbolts movie like where this plot continues in the
09:17Thunderbolts movie and we talk about the dark Avengers.
09:20It's meant to be the very next movie coming out right after Captain America four.
09:24So the plots of the movies are loosely related, but Thunderbolt Ross himself will not appear
09:28in the movie like Red Hulk is not on the Thunderbolts team.
09:32They're not named the Thunderbolts because of Thunderbolt Ross's name that just a coincidence
09:36in the comics, but has been a lot of theories that the asterisk in the Thunderbolts logo
09:40actually indicates that the name is temporary in the team will become the dark Avengers
09:45by the end of the film like the rename the team to the dark Avengers.
09:49Although technically it'll be more like the Avengers, but they'll just be more like the
09:53dark Avengers.
09:54Let's look at the evidence in the Thunderbolts trailer that we've seen so far.
09:57I posted the entire Thunderbolts trailer on my channel a couple weeks ago.
10:01We see that Val has purchased the Avengers tower from Iron Man.
10:04This scene of them in the elevator is meant to parallel the Avengers in the elevator from
10:08endgame a lot of the trailer shots in the Thunderbolts trailer are meant to ape the
10:12original Avengers trailer, but here they're arriving at the top floor instead of going
10:17down the elevator.
10:19You can see a couple familiar landmarks out the windows here at the top confirming that
10:23this is the new Avengers tower Val just had it redesigned as we saw in Spider-Man far
10:27from home in the movie Val starts out by trying to kill all of these team members after
10:33she finishes creating the century because all the shady missions that she's been having
10:37them go on the past couple years in the MCU were to steal the tech she needed to create
10:42the century.
10:43So what they're implying from the trailer footage is that once their jobs are done like
10:47the century's been created.
10:48She wants to destroy all the evidence of what she's done by killing them like tying up all
10:53those loose ends by basically having them killed.
10:55They don't start the movie being the Thunderbolts either like they're not a team when the movie
10:59picks up.
11:00They don't even know each other when the movie picks up each them and been working for Val
11:04separately because everything so compartmentalized they only learn about each other after they
11:08arrive at the lab where she's created the century where she expects that the all kill
11:13each other.
11:14That's why they're trying to kill each other because it's meant to be big set up the Val
11:17created for them like a big trap.
11:19You also see that she sent another goon squad to clean up the mess that was left of anybody
11:23survived also seems like she hoped the century would kill them to which does not wind up
11:28happening like they all wind up escaping then they all band together in common cause to
11:33get revenge on Val that's when they become the Thunderbolts team during the trailer footage
11:39you see them fight their way up to the top of the new Avengers tower to seemingly revenge
11:43kill Val in the early theory is that they're just implying that she's going to survive
11:47by weaseling her way out saying that this was all a grand test in the she's putting
11:51a new team together it just happens to be the Avengers team one of the big running gags
11:56that they put in the post credit scene of the Thunderbolts trailer like the Thunderbolts
11:59trailer has an actual post credit scene is red guardian talking about how he wants to
12:04be viewed as a hero and make it onto the Wheaties box yet imagine at the end of the movie.
12:10What if Val basically tells them on putting a team together.
12:13It's the Avengers team and I want you all to be on it.
12:16But the vibe of the team is more like the dark Avengers from the comics.
12:20The government controlled team of a bunch of darker heroes.
12:24It's also a way to explain how century winds up on that dark Avengers team in the MCU,
12:30but they don't actually call them the dark Avengers in the MCU Val just says they are
12:34the new Avengers and it's more like what happened during Falcon winter soldier where they made
12:38US agent the new Captain America, but he was the government's version of Captain America.
12:44So this is more like the government's version of the Avengers.
12:46They just call them the Avengers of a market it to the rest of the people in the MCU around
12:50the world like hey we have a new Avengers team, but it's more like the dark Avengers
12:54of the comics and separately you have Sam Wilson Captain America in the other surviving
12:59actual original Avengers putting together their own new Avengers team and they're more
13:04like the real new Avengers they've already announced that both of those teams like the
13:08new Avengers and the Thunderbolts characters will come back in Avengers 5 doomsday when
13:13Robert Downey juniors Doctor doom shows up in the MCU to enact his plan to save all of
13:18reality which sounds like it's going to be based on time runs out from the comics the
13:22way the Russos were talking about it at comic con the probably some changes from the original
13:26comic book storyline, but if you read time runs out and in the more recent secret wars
13:30a lot of it will be based on some of the big beats from that.
13:33So the by the end of that movie he will combine all realities in a version of battle world
13:38and he'll become more like God Emperor doom of the comics.
13:42So the big idea though is that I don't think that were actually gonna get too many teasers
13:46for that actual brand-new Avengers team until like a post credit scene in Captain America
13:50four and then we will actually see them fully coming together until Avengers 5.
13:55There's a couple big things that they'll only be teasing in the movies in 2025 because you
13:59have to remember that Avengers 5 doomsday is coming out in 2026.
14:03So it's not that far off, but I think one of the big moments at the beginning of that
14:07movie is the new Avengers team actually coming together for the first time.
14:11So up to that point like in the 2025 movies will just see teasers for different characters
14:15going around forming the team.
14:18But while that's going on, you also have this dark Avengers subplot going across Captain
14:22America four in the thunderbolts movie that everyone let me know in the comments what
14:26you want them to do with the dark Avengers characters after Avengers 5 and after secret
14:30wars.
14:31If they're going to be soft rebooting the MCU.
14:34My assumption is that after secret wars there be no reason for there to be two different
14:37Avengers teams inside the MCU, so they'll only be the actual new Avengers in like the
14:42dark Avengers characters will either disband or like turn into something else.
14:46I would also be very surprised if they don't kill off some of the members on that team
14:50to you can have to kill a couple big characters during Avengers 5 and Avengers 6.
14:54Otherwise it doesn't feel like there's any stakes.
