Inmates serve five-course meal to the public in historic Ohio prison event

The meal, part of a program by EDWINS, teaches inmates culinary skills and provides reentry opportunities.

00:00We're about to do a dinner for 60 people inside a prison, next to our garden, with our class

00:16of 20-plus inmates who make it all possible.

00:31So in 2012, that's 12 years ago from today, classes started here teaching men in prison

00:37about culinary arts and hospitality.

00:39That was it.

00:40It was a belief that every human being, regardless of their past, has the right to a fair and

00:43equal future.

00:54It's a program that I actually want to carry to the outside when I leave here.

00:59There's housing.

01:00There's so many different opportunities that they make available to us, and they actually

01:03care.

01:04This could be the rest of my life, and they're doing this for everybody.

01:07They're not looking at me as a number, they're looking at me as a person.
