00:00I hope you're not hurt.
00:28No, Alhamdulillah. May Allah reward you for your help, Sufyan.
00:33May Allah reward us all. Where is our friend Yasin? You usually come run together.
00:39He can't come today. His mother is sick and he's taking care of her.
00:43May Allah cure her, Inshallah. I need to go visit her after training to see if she's okay, and if he needs any help.
00:50Send my Salam. I'll see him tonight.
00:59Mom, it's time to take your medicine.
01:02May Allah reward your efforts, my son. You stayed up for me all night.
01:08No matter what I do, it will never compare to everything you did for me.
01:12It must be our neighbor coming to see you.
01:17Assalamu alaikum.
01:19Wa alaikum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. How are you doing, Sufyan?
01:24Alhamdulillah. I heard that your mom was sick, so I came to check upon her and stay with you a little bit.
01:31May Allah reward you, my dear friend, but I am sorry. I cannot spend time with you today.
01:37No, my friend. It's okay. I'll come see you later.
01:41Assalamu alaikum.
01:44I hope you're not angry and accept my apology.
01:47Assalamu alaikum.
01:49Wa alaikum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
01:53Who was it, my son?
01:55It was my friend, Sufyan. I told him I was sorry I couldn't welcome him. I have to take care of you, mom.
02:02May Allah bless you, my son.
02:05Is this what friendship is? Why did Yassin act like this?
02:10He refused to welcome me in his home. What kind of friendship is this?
02:24Assalamu alaikum, father.
02:26Wa alaikum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, my son.
02:31What's wrong, Sufyan? I can see that you're worried.
02:35I wanted to do something good, but I was mistreated instead.
02:40How could that happen?
02:42I went to visit my friend Yassin to check up on his sick mother and stay with him a little bit,
02:48but he refused to welcome me and told me he couldn't spend time with me.
02:52This is a right Allah gave to your friend. Why are you angry?
02:57This is a right Allah gave to your friend. Why are you angry?
03:01What do you mean?
03:02Haven't you heard of what Allah said?
03:04Believers do not enter other people's houses until you have asked permission to do so and greeted those inside.
03:11That is best for you. Perhaps you will bear this in mind.
03:15If you find no one in, do not enter unless you have been given permission to do so.
03:20If you are told go away, then do so. That is more proper for you.
03:25God knows well what you do.
03:27What this verse means is that we must ask permission before entering somewhere.
03:31And if we are granted permission, we can enter.
03:34But if we are turned away, then we should leave.
03:36And if there is no one, we should not enter unless we have permission first.
03:42And what reasons could someone have to turn guests away?
03:45My son, every house deserves its privacy.
03:49We cannot ask questions regarding what does not concern us.
03:53This is better and purer for us.
03:55Just like Allah told us.
03:58Yes, my dear father, you are right.
04:00The Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wasallam, said,
04:04sallallahu alayhi wasallam,
04:06If anyone of you asks permission to enter thrice and permission is not given, then he should return.
04:12This means that if you knock at the door or call three times and the person does not respond, then you should leave.
04:20And if I leave, I am still rewarded?
04:23Yes, my son. The Prophet's companions did not get angry or sad when they weren't given permission.
04:30May Allah forgive me. I wronged my brother Yasin.
04:34If we knew our religion well, my son, no one would feel any hatred towards anyone else.
04:40May Allah reward you, my dear father.
04:42I promise I will visit my friend Yasin tomorrow, inshallah,
04:46and I will not get angry if he turns me away a second time.
04:50May Allah bless you, my son.
04:53Al Fatiha.
