00:00How do you discover God's plan for your life?
00:04If you've ever run a race, you know it's important to keep the right pace.
00:09If you go too slow, you'll easily get behind and people will pass you.
00:14If you go too fast, however, you might get exhausted quickly and not have the strength
00:19to even finish the race.
00:22Finding the right pace while running a race can be challenging.
00:25Fortunately, when it comes to our Christian life, we have someone who sets the pace for
00:30us.
00:31Galatians 5 verse 25 says that we should
00:34Live by the Spirit and keep in step with the Spirit.
00:38If we're supposed to keep in step with the Spirit, that means that the Holy Spirit sets
00:42the pace for us.
00:44We shouldn't lag behind or run ahead.
00:47We're supposed to stay in step.
00:50When we stay in step with the Spirit, He provides us with wisdom and discernment to help guide
00:55our decisions.
00:57Proverbs 3 verse 6 says that when we submit to Him, He directs our paths and helps make
01:02them straight.
01:03Okay, that all sounds great in theory.
01:07But how do we actually stay in step with the Spirit?
01:11Here are three ways to start.
01:131.
01:14Seek God through His Word
01:17Because you're reading this Bible plan in the Bible app, you're clearly on your way
01:20to doing this already.
01:23Make it a habit to read God's Word every day.
01:26There are lots of different Bible plans you can start, and if you need accountability,
01:31you can do with them with your small group, too.
01:342.
01:35Pray regularly
01:37Don't let the idea of prayer intimidate you.
01:40Prayer is simply talking to God and then listening to Him.
01:44If you get distracted easily, it's helpful to open the Notes app on your phone and write
01:49down what you want to pray about.
01:513.
01:52Stay in community
01:54Staying in step with the Spirit means being around other like-minded Christ followers.
01:59The best way to do this is by staying consistent with your small group and attending church
02:04regularly.
02:05Even better, start serving somewhere at church.
02:09You'll meet new people and develop deeper friendships with other Christians.
