00:00All I can tell you is that we have remained in continuous contact with our Israeli counterparts
00:05at all levels.
00:07And they have shared with us how they see the situation, we've shared with them how
00:11we see it, and we've tried to coordinate as closely as possible.
00:15I can't speak directly to the conversations that unfolded yesterday other than to say
00:20there was continuous communication.
00:23And we have been tracking the threat of Hezbollah attacks against Israel for some time now.
00:29And of course, those attacks have been unfolding since October 7th, in addition to the specific
00:36operations and actions that took place yesterday.
00:39What I believe now is that it is incumbent on all parties in the region to work towards
00:46de-escalation and stability.
00:49And so we are feverishly working in Cairo as we speak with our team and the teams of
00:55the other mediators, as well as with the Israelis, to get to a ceasefire and hostage
00:59deal along the framework that President Biden laid out, to get calm between Israel and – along
01:07that border between Israel and Lebanon, and ultimately to get to a broader circumstance
01:12of regional stability.
01:13And of course, we think that a part of that is a credible path to a two-state solution
01:19for the Palestinian people as well.
