Facts About the AMERICAN BULLY Breed
How was the Bully breed created?
Bred in the United States, the American Bully dog has gained more and more admirers for its powerful size and friendly temperament. The Bully breed is a derivative of the American Pit Bull Terrier. Better known as Pitbull, the breed has maintained its standard for over 100 years and, in recent decades, has gained a more muscular and compact variation: the Bully! The appearance of Bullies is more robust because of the influences of the American Bulldog, the English Bulldog and the Old English Bulldog. Its behavior and physical type make it ideal for guarding and companionship.
Although the breed has become very popular, only the Standard variety is registered with the United Kennel Club (UKC). The other variations are not yet formalized. The UKC was founded in 1898 and is the second oldest American kennel club. It brings together official information and characteristics about registered breeds. In Brazil, the Brazilian Cinophilia Confederation (CBKC) is the entity responsible for these services.
American Bully x Pitbull: what's the difference?
The American Bully and the Pitbull are different breeds, mainly physically. Although the Bully is derived from the American Pit Bull Terrier, its physical differences are notable. The American Bully has strong influences from Bulldog varieties, being stronger and more robust than the Pit bull.
