00:43German media citing police sources said the weapon used was believed to be a knife.
00:48Witnesses alerted police shortly after 9.30 p.m. local time after the assailant stabbed
00:53several people at random.
00:56Police said the attacker was on the run and that so far they have very little information
01:00about the man.
01:01They also said they believe the stabbings were carried out by a lone attacker.
01:20Zollingen was holding a festival of diversity to mark the city's 650th anniversary.
01:26It was supposed to run until Sunday but has now been cancelled.
01:35Ukraine's military says it used high-precision US-supplied glide bombs for strikes in Russia's

01:42A commander with Ukraine's air force published a video on Thursday night purporting to show
01:46a Russian platoon base being hit in Kursk.
01:50He said the attack with GBU-39 bombs, which were supplied by the United States, resulted
01:55in Russian casualties and the destruction of equipment.
01:58Many of Ukraine's international allies oppose the country using donated weapons for anything
02:03but defensive purposes.
02:05However, Ukraine has argued that its Kursk incursion is essentially defensive and aimed
02:11at creating a buffer zone to minimize attacks on Ukrainian soil.
02:15Meanwhile, the United States has imposed a fresh round of sanctions on more than 400
02:20entities and individuals for supporting Russia's war effort.
02:24That includes sanctions on Chinese companies that American officials believe are helping
02:28Moscow skirt Western sanctions and build up its military.

04:04He was often at odds with senior military figures, accusing them of incompetence and

04:15An investigation has been opened following an explosion outside a synagogue in the French
04:20seaside resort of Le Conde Mot.
04:24Reports say at least two cars, one of which contained a gas bottle and two doors providing
04:29access to the building, were set on fire.
04:33According to the local mayor, a municipal police officer was injured in the blast.
04:38French President Emmanuel Macron has described the incident as a terrorist act, while security
04:44forces continue to search for the suspect.
