00:00Hello everyone, Neil Tappan here from Golf Monthly, and welcome to this video on how
00:07to arrange your golf bag.
00:09Now on the floor in front of me, I've got everything I'd want to carry with me today
00:13out on the golf course, and I'm going to put it all in the bag in the order that I would
00:16have it.
00:17And I found that over the years, this gives me the best access to everything I need while
00:20I'm out on the golf course.
00:21I'm going to start with my putter and my wedges.
00:24Now I have a four-way divider for my golf bag, which makes this a slightly easier process
00:29than if I had more than that, and I put all of my wedges in the putter in the bottom well,
00:33which is quite big.
00:35But you're only allowed to carry 14 clubs.
00:37I've got one too many wedges.
00:38I've got a wedge that I use to practice, so I'm going to leave that behind.
00:42Next one is my mid-iron, so 9, 8, and 7.
00:47They go in the next compartment, 4, 5, and 6 in here.
00:54And then my woods, all of my graphite-shafted clubs go in at the top end of the bag, and
00:58that just orders the bag nicely so that when I'm searching for an iron iron, I'm not looking
01:02endlessly.
01:03I know roughly where it's going to be before I even look at my bag.
01:05So it just makes getting around the golf course that bit quicker and easier.
01:09Next up, I'm going to look at golf gloves.
01:11So I'd put the golf gloves in this flat pocket on the side of the bag here.
01:18This means that I can keep my gloves nice and flat, so they don't sort of crease up
01:22too much.
01:23I'd also carry a couple of wet-weather gloves.
01:26They come in pairs, right and left.
01:28So it means that when you're playing in bad weather, they offer excellent traction.
01:31So I'd also carry those, and I'd put those in that same pocket by the side of the bag
01:36there.
01:37Next one, golf balls.
01:38So I use, for golf balls, I use the big pocket at the bottom of the bag here.
01:43I tend to carry quite a few golf balls with me.
01:45That says quite a lot about my game.
01:47I am prone to losing the odd one or two, so I like the big pocket for golf balls.
01:52And in that pocket, I would also store sunglasses and sun cream, so they both go in there.
02:00Next up, some of the really important items that you need to carry, you need to have sort
02:04of consistent access to.
02:06So things like ball marker, T-pegs, sharpie, pitchmark repair, which is something everybody
02:13should carry, and plasters.
02:16And I would put them all in this smaller pocket at the top of the bag.
02:19So the bigger pocket for golf balls, the smaller pocket for the smaller items, they all go
02:23in there.
02:24And after I've played a round of golf, I take all my tees out of my pocket and I put them
02:27in that pocket.
02:28It's something worth remembering because there's nothing worse than constantly having tees
02:32in your pocket when you're not playing golf.
02:35Next up, water bottle on the side of the bag here.
02:39Now of course, there are going to be some bigger items that you're going to want to
02:42carry with you in case the weather changes during a round of golf today.
02:45The weather is fairly chilly, changeable, so I'm carrying a gilet.
02:50I also always carry a bucket hat, so I tend to play golf in glasses.
02:54And when it does rain, having that protection from your glasses is really important.
02:59Other golfers who wear glasses will know, I'll put the gilet that goes in the big pocket
03:05here.
03:06Obviously, if it is going to rain, that's where your waterproofs are going to go.
03:10Next up is this smaller pocket here, which is for your valuables.
03:13So I've got my phone and my wallet here.
03:14They'll both slide in here.
03:15And you'll notice the valuables pocket because usually it's got a slightly softer lining
03:19to that pocket.
03:21And finally, the last two items are towel and rangefinder.
03:25So my towel clips on to this clip here at the top of the bag, as does the rangefinder,
03:33which means that I've got good access to both of those things, which I'm going to be using
03:38pretty much on every hole.
03:40So that's it.
03:41I would organize my golf bag before I go out and play.
