Wicked Movie - The Powerful Bond of Friendship - We’re just two friends. Two good friends. Two best friends.   Wicked, the untold story of the witches of Oz, stars Emmy, Grammy, Tony winning powerhouse Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, a young woman, misunderstood because of her unusual green skin, who has yet to discover her true power, and Grammy-winning, multi-platinum recording artist and global superstar Ariana Grande as Glinda, a popular young woman, gilded by privilege and ambition, who has yet to discover her true heart. The two meet as students at Shiz University in the fantastical Land of Oz and forge an unlikely but profound friendship. Following an encounter with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, their friendship reaches a crossroads and their lives take very different paths. Glinda's unflinching desire for popularity sees her seduced by power, while Elphaba's determination to remain true to herself, and those around her, will have unexpected & shocking consequences on her future. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfill their destinies as Glinda the Good... and the Wicked Witch of the West.  Wicked is directed by American filmmaker Jon M. 00:16Wicked, to me, at its very core, is about friendship.

00:21Ah!

00:23What are you staring at? Do I have something in my teeth?

00:26And it starts with a really fun look at how these two young women, who are so different from each other,

00:32are forced to be roommates and don't get along at all.

00:36Oh, I saved you some space, by the way.

00:38Do you really think this is fair?

00:39I do not. I was promised a private suite. But thanks for asking.

00:44It's like, cool, you're a... and you're this and I'm this. You get to see us at our worst.

00:50It seems the artichoke is steamed.

00:56And so we have to learn about each other to get to know each other.

01:00And how hard change can be, how complicated people really are.

01:07Of course she doesn't. She just pretends not to.

01:10These two very different women just fall completely in love with each other.

01:15And that is mirrored experience of what happened with Cynthia and I.

01:19We just sort of, I got chills. We both just like found each other, I guess.

01:35There's a wild sort of soul connection between the two of them.

01:40Just such a complementing chemistry. But they're so different.

02:09My favorite thing about Wicked is that we can all identify pieces of ourselves within both Elphaba and Galinda.
