00:00Berlin Zoo's Panda Garden has welcomed two new additions this week with the
00:04birth of twins. This isn't just a success for the zoo here, it's also a success for
00:10the collaboration between the experts in Germany and those from Chengdu Panda
00:15Base in China. In fact, as soon as it was confirmed that Meng Meng was pregnant,
00:20well, we saw experts from Chengdu flown over. They were present at the birth and
00:24will play a big role in the rearing of the cubs in their first few days. This
00:30isn't the first time that twins have been born here. What we're hearing from
00:33the experts is that's fairly common. In around 50% of the time that pandas are
00:39born in captivity, it will result in multiple births. What happens next is we
00:44have to wait a little while to find out what sex the cubs are, then we'll know
00:48essentially what names they will have. And after that, we should get a date on
00:52when they'll be unveiled to the public.
