00:00Where the Wild Things Are.
00:12Story and pictures by Maurice Sandak.
00:16The night Max wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind.
00:21And another.
00:23His mother called him Wild Thing.
00:26And Max said I'll eat you up.
00:28So he was sent to bed without eating anything.
00:32That very night in Max's room a forest grew.
00:36And grew.
00:38And grew until his ceiling hung with vines and the walls became the world all around.
00:43And an ocean tumbled by with a private boat for Max and he sailed off through night and
00:48day.
00:50And in and out of weeks and almost over a year to where the wild things are.
00:55When he came to the place where the wild things are they roared their terrible roars and gnashed
01:00their terrible teeth and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws.
01:05Till Max said BE STILL! and tamed them with the magic trick of staring into all their
01:11yellow eyes without blinking once and they were frightened and called him the most wild
01:15thing of all.
01:17And made him king of all wild things.
01:20And now cried Max.
01:22Let the wild rumpus start!
01:50Now stop!
02:16Max said and sent the wild things off to bed without their supper.
02:20And Max the king of all wild things was lonely and wanted to be where someone love him best
02:25of all.
02:27Then all around from far away across the world he smelled good things to eat so he gave up
02:32being king of where the wild things are.
02:36But the wild things cried.
02:37Oh please don't go!
02:41We'll eat you up!
02:43We love you so!
02:45And Max said, no.
02:47The wild things roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth and rolled
02:51their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws but Max stopped into his private boast
02:57and waved goodbye.
02:59And sailed back over a year and in and out of weeks and through a day.
03:03And into the night of his very own room where he found his supper waiting for him.
03:09And it was still hot.
03:11The end.
