00:00Shark Boy was not always half shark, half boy.

00:11He was a marine biologist, or at least in training.

00:16His father studied great white sharks and called his son Shark Boy because of how much he loved to care for the sharks.

00:24He made them sushi and had given them all names.

00:28Good Milk, Piggy, Egg Battle, and Kraken.

00:39But one day, an incredible, mysterious storm appeared.

00:44It swept away the entire laboratory.

00:47Thanks to the life rafts, Shark Boy and his father survived.

00:52They survived on different sides of the wreckage, each floating off in a different direction.

00:58Shark Boy was completely alone.

01:04Almost completely.

01:07But one of the sharks recognized him.

01:10Hey, it's Shark Boy. Don't take a bite out of him, boys. He's a friend.

01:17They took Shark Boy to their cave home, where he'd be safe and dry.

01:26His new family were sharks.

01:32Hundreds of sharks.

01:39The sharks raised him as one of their own, training him in the ways of the shark.

01:45You must keep moving to survive. Always go forward, never back.

01:51To live by instinct, and instinct alone.

01:59Eventually, he grew gills and sharp talons for claws.

02:04His teeth sharpened themselves to a point.

02:07He grew fins. All sorts of fins.

02:12But that was years ago. I first met Shark Boy while fishing on a dock this summer.

02:29He seemed lost.

02:32You have to get a job. No, no, I have a job.

02:35So I snuck him home.

02:38Maybe you should just leave.

02:40My parents were too busy to notice.

02:45I kept him fed and in water.

02:49He had been traveling the universe in search of his father.

02:54He told me of his latest adventures on a planet so cool, it makes you drool.

03:01He said I, too, could go to Planet Drool someday.

03:06Then one night, I was visited by a glowing light.

03:10An amazing girl with purple flames for hair and skin of molten lava rock appeared.

03:16I called her Lava Girl.

03:19She smiled at me, for that seemed to be her name.

03:23She told me she needed Shark Boy to return to Planet Drool with her, for a great crisis was developing.

03:30She asked if I could go with them.

03:32I told her, I have school tomorrow.

03:35She gave me a sad look and flamed away, taking Shark Boy with her.

03:42I haven't seen Shark Boy or Lava Girl since then.
