00:00It's true that the government administration's reign ended in 2027,

00:09but there has been a voice calling for UMNO to introduce potential candidates for the PRU16 from now on.

00:17Some representatives met with the FMT at the 2024 UMNO General Assembly with the opinion that

00:24the step is able to bring voters closer earlier,

00:28in addition to creating a personal touch between the potential candidates and the local residents.

00:34UMNO Chairperson Goh Ngusang, Mohd Syahbudin Hashim said,

00:38the choice of candidates is important because it must be able to enhance the atmosphere of the candidates in front of the election,

00:45whether it is more enthusiastic or lazy.

00:48Meanwhile, UMNO Chairperson Jerantod Rozilan Saleh also said,

00:53introducing early candidates can facilitate preparation,

00:58but the party needs to have other plans in case of unexpected problems.

01:04Last June, UMNO Chairperson Johari Abdul Ghani suggested,

01:08the party knows for sure that leaders can be elected as candidates for the PRU will come from now,

01:15so that they can start to spread devotion and get to know voters in their respective areas better.
