00:00Happy Friday to all of us, I am Benison Estareja.
00:05This morning, we expect heavy rains in the southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao
00:10due to the convergence of the winds.
00:13This morning, we expect the effect of the Easterly in the eastern section of Luzon and Visayas.
00:17Eventually, when the afternoon comes and until the long weekend,
00:21the Southwest Monsoon will re-emerge
00:24and it will continue to rain in the southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
00:29We do not take away the chance that the cloud clusters here in Mimaropa
00:34could be formed as shallow circulations or low-pressure area.
00:38That is why we will continue to monitor this for now.
00:41Meanwhile, our weather disturbance outside the Philippine area of responsibility
00:45has increased as a severe tropical storm.
00:48This is an international name, Shan-Shan,
00:50and it is still more than 2,100 kilometers away from the eastern part of the central Luzon.
00:56We do not expect a direct effect of this storm, Shan-Shan,
00:59and it will move eastward towards the area of southern Japan.
01:06Now, starting from the long weekend,
01:08we expect the rainy season here in a large part of Mimaropa.
01:11The most affected area this Friday is the occidental Mindoro.
01:14There are heavy rains and thunderstorms in Misa,
01:17so be careful of possible floods and landslides.
01:21The area of Mimaropa, especially in the areas of Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon,
01:27up to the western side of the Bicol region,
01:29we expect to see a high chance of rain.
01:32The area of Luzon, including the Calabar zone,
01:36the rest of Bicol region, and nearby areas in the central Luzon,
01:40we expect to see a high chance of rain,
01:42especially in the afternoon and evening.
01:45As for the northern and central Luzon,
01:48we expect to see a high chance of rain,
01:50especially in the afternoon and evening.
01:52As for the afternoon and evening,
01:54we expect to see a low chance of rain, landslides, and floods.
01:59In Metro Manila, our temperature is still possible to rise to 34 degrees Celsius,
02:04while it will still be the hottest in the areas of Cagayan and Isabela,
02:08where it is possible to rise to 35 degrees Celsius,
02:11while in Baguio City, it is at 18 to 25 degrees Celsius.
02:17Our fellow countrymen,
02:19here in a large part of Palawan,
02:21make sure that we have a shelter from the rain
02:27because there is a high chance of light to moderate,
02:29with at times, heavy rains.
02:31Also, be careful of floods and landslides.
02:34In Visayas, there is a high chance of rain in the western portion of Panay Island and Negros Island,
02:40especially here in Pating Antique,
02:42so be careful of floods and landslides.
02:44Because within 24 hours, there is a high chance of rain,
02:48while the remaining part of Visayas is part of cloudy to cloudy skies,
02:52and there is also a chance of rain,
02:54especially in the afternoon and evening,
02:56where there is a high chance of thunderstorms.
02:59Our temperature in Metro Cebu is from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:04For our fellow countrymen in Mindanao,
03:06as early as this morning,
03:07we still expect to see rain in Sulu, Archipelago, and Zamboanga Peninsula.
03:12That is the effect of the southwest monsoon.
03:14Then, in the remaining part of Mindanao,
03:16from morning to afternoon,
03:18it is part of cloudy to cloudy skies.
03:21Then, when it reaches the afternoon and evening,
03:23a large part of Mindanao will have dark times
03:26and it is still accompanied by heavy rains.
03:29Here in Caraga in Northern Mindanao,
03:31the rains are almost continuous.
03:33Here in the Zamboanga Peninsula and Bangsamoro region,
03:37so be careful of floods and landslides.
03:40Our temperature in Metro Davao is still possible to rise to 34 degrees Celsius.
03:46For our fellow countrymen who will go on sea travels
03:49and island hoppings over this long weekend,
03:52we do not expect any gale warning.
03:54But please take note,
03:55if there are rains and thunderstorms,
03:58it is possible that the skies,
03:59especially on the western side of Southern Luzon,
04:02Western Visayas, Negros Island,
04:04and up to Zamboanga Peninsula and Sulu, Archipelago,
04:08may rise to 1.5 meters above sea level.
04:13As for the remaining part of the long weekend,
04:15expect the effects of heavy rains or southwest monsoon.
04:18Southern Luzon, Visayas, and the western portion of Mindanao are still affected.
04:23Here in our region,
04:25we can see a part of the strong winds,
04:28which is still outside the area of responsibility and is still far away.
04:31However, we still expect a part of clouds or mostly cloudy skies
04:35for most of those areas that we mentioned.
04:38And the chances of light to moderate with the times of heavy rains
04:41are high on Saturdays and Sundays.
04:43So make sure that we have an umbrella in the rain
04:45and always listen and follow our advisories and heavy rainfall warnings.
04:49This is a worst-case scenario.
04:51And be careful of floods and landslides,
04:54especially here in the areas of Mimaropa, Western Visayas,
04:58Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Bangsamoro Region.
05:02As of August 26, Monday,
05:04some areas of Southern Luzon, Bicol Region, Calabarzon,

05:25and the sunset is part of the earlier 6.14 in the evening.
